I was watching this video because I wanted to see if it was true. I don't animals should be hurt for cosmetic reasons but if it is for medicinal purpose to help better society then I am all for it. Most of these injuries done on those animals are for cosmetic purposes. I had animals and if I had to choose between them or family being injured by their products. I am sorry to say that mr. @liurka7 Existen métodos alternativos y éticos que no implican el uso de los animales. Por otro lado no existe una ley que obligue a las empresas a testear sus productos con animales: lo hacen porque quieren.
Ya existen en el mercado productos de cosmética e higiene que no fueron experimentados en animales, buscalos.

No idea about the author of the video but the photos do seem to be representative of the types of toxicity test that P&G conduct for new chemicals they put into cosmetics and toiletries - tests such as skin and eye corrosivity on rabbits, and oral toxicity tests using rats. The pictures of the dogs are either taken from or representative of tests for Iams which involve caging dogs for lengthy periods of time

As a vegan I'm very much against animal testing. I urge everyone to take 5 minutes out of their day and Google "Cruelty Free Companies" and get a look at the companies that do not harm animals. These are the people we should be buying from and supporting. It takes so little time but it saves thousands of lives. Just because the life isn't a human life doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to live without needless and intentional cruelty, suffering, and pain.

Not all of us have the time to spend hours online looking for products that don't test on animals. It's hard today. The body shop who pride themselves on not testing on animals are owned by Loreal who does test on animals. In a world where everyone owns everyone, the word boycott in easier said than done.

P&G is playing a leading role in developing in vitro test models to prevent all unnecessary tests on animals. As of 2010 ALL animal tests will be forbiden worldwide, and P&G spends millions of Dollars to bring the in-vitro tests forward. If you are against animal testing, you'll have to boycott every pharma and cosmetics company, not only P&G. They know about the problem and are working hard on a solution.
P&G doesn't even own test animals. If, very rarely' an animal test is unavoidable, the have it done with test instituts in the Netherlands and in Switzerland on rats or mice. P&G hasn't had dogs for 12 years. P&G spends more money to prevent animal testing than every other company in the world.

p&g use synthetic skins where ever possible. however, any product that is for human use, that is considered to have a pharmasutical effect, has to be tested on animals first, by LAW. p&g are not the only ones, every single company in the same business area as p&g all have to do the same thing. if you want this to change, it is no good boycotting products or companies, you need to get the government to change the law.
There are other forms of testing. For example, let's take the drug companies, yes they use animals... but what else do they use? Human test subjects who are willing to put themselves up there for MONEY. Money talks. Sometimes people will do it for free though, in the name of science or better treatment. Like me for example. While this video is compelling, i would comment that the photo's look old, and animal testing is necessary, but probably over-exaggerated. to give an objective perspective, i don't believe testing is nearly as bad as it was in the 60's , 70's. This is complete rubbish!!! I work for this fabulous company and we, as employee owners would never stand for this crap. Yes, it's true things of this sort used to occur but thanks to responsible citizens and employees with hearts this is no longer happens. It is unfortunately still enforced in the U.S. by law that animal tests are to be done for pharmaceuticals in accordance with the FDA. What does that mean for Home Products? Specific drugs/chemicals are used seperately or in combinations and used on animals. Results are inaccurate (different species!!) but, they are most times lethal, and if not, the animals go through physical and mental horrors that none of us would like to be a part of, after they are "destroyed". Investigate and decide!

Isn't the real problem the laws they operate under, if they want to sell a skin [applied to] product, they MUST perform certain tests on live tissue.

No idea about the author of the video but the photos do seem to be representative of the types of toxicity test that P&G conduct for new chemicals they put into cosmetics and toiletries - tests such as skin and eye corrosivity on rabbits, and oral toxicity tests using rats. The pictures of the dogs are either taken from or representative of tests for Iams which involve caging dogs for lengthy periods of time

As a vegan I'm very much against animal testing. I urge everyone to take 5 minutes out of their day and Google "Cruelty Free Companies" and get a look at the companies that do not harm animals. These are the people we should be buying from and supporting. It takes so little time but it saves thousands of lives. Just because the life isn't a human life doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to live without needless and intentional cruelty, suffering, and pain.

The body shop who pride themselves on not testing on animals are owned by Loreal who does test on animals. In a world where everyone owns everyone, the word boycott in easier said than done.

Like inkdripp said, P&G is in 75% of peoples homes, the shelf space that company takes up in a store like Wal-mart alone is huge.

the only thing i disagree with in the above video is the boycotting of p&g to 'put them out of buisness'. it would be better to boycott them, let them know explicitly why, and if enough people do this, we can hope that they will take heed and drop animals testing. such a large company to do that would inspire smaller companies to do the same.

As of 2010 ALL animal tests will be forbiden worldwide, and P&G spends millions of Dollars to bring the in-vitro tests forward. If you are against animal testing, you'll have to boycott every pharma and cosmetics company, not only P&G. They know about the problem and are working hard on a solution.

P&G doesn't even own test animals. If, very rarely' an animal test is unavoidable, the have it done with test instituts in the Netherlands and in Switzerland on rats or mice. P&G hasn't had dogs for 12 years. P&G spends more money to prevent animal testing than every other company in the world.

p&g use synthetic skins where ever possible. however, any product that is for human use, that is considered to have a pharmasutical effect, has to be tested on animals first, by LAW. p&g are not the only ones, every single company in the same business area as p&g all have to do the same thing. if you want this to change, it is no good boycotting products or companies, you need to get the government to change the law.

There are other forms of testing. For example, let's take the drug companies, yes they use animals... but what else do they use? Human test subjects who are willing to put themselves up there for MONEY. Money talks. Sometimes people will do it for free though, in the name of science or better treatment. Like me for example. While this video is compelling, i would comment that the photo's look old, and animal testing is necessary, but probably over-exaggerated. to give an objective perspective, i don't believe testing is nearly as bad as it was in the 60's , 70's. Im an organic fan personally, and i say gone with the chemicals! if you want to make a real difference, start demanding Environmentally safe Products! and switch to more organics.

Yes, it's true things of this sort used to occur but thanks to responsible citizens and employees with hearts this is no longer happens. This pisses me off, since P&G does a lot great things now that more than compensate for some bad choices that were made in the past. But of course, we don't always here about the good stuff, now do we.

It seems to me I've heard Proctor and Gamble quit doing this sort of stuff years and years ago. Are you sure your information is right??!! This seems to be one of those urban legends that has been around for decades.

It is unfortunately still enforced in the U.S. by law that animal tests are to be done for pharmaceuticals in accordance with the FDA. What does that mean for Home Products? Specific drugs/chemicals are used seperately or in combinations and used on animals. Results are inaccurate (different species!!) but, they are most times lethal, and if not, the animals go through physical and mental horrors that none of us would like to be a part of, after they are "destroyed". Investigate and decide!
