  • Just last Summer, journey of Meds stated, all those steroids treatments were ineffective with sinus issues. Placebos did just as well...a point i told my doc. Three years ago when i was not getting in relief but no, i was imagining the full sensation, watery movement in my right ear. Today, now its nothing he can do...30$ copay please.

  • Because there is no money in this field, lots of mechanical devices or procedures aren't being done. Heart or brain artery surgery or actual in uterus baby operations happen but not one small device is available to insert inside the exposed E tube to regulate presurre. Basic, Open/shutting dynamics. Wtf

  • Instead of having this surgery you can clear your glue ear at home using this remedy: google Earadicator. it is a cure that I discovered. It is free. (Well i dont charge for the instructions but there is something you need to buy at your local store) and it will clear 90% of clogged ear problems.

  • sorry but the stuff that came out made me gag!

  • i barfed from the sight of that.. not cause it was gross... but cause it looked painful!!!!!!!!! pain does not suit me well..... especially in the ears!!!

  • I ask because I've had what sounds light water in my ears for about 5 months now. and the left has become very painful. last week the doctor said he thinks i have glue ear. he gave me a week of antibiotics but nothing changed, and i'm afraid i wont be able to take the plane ride home for Christmas. he did refer me to a specialist but the appointment is not for 2 months. i was just wondering if there is sure way to know you have it through symptoms..... :(

  • @avayomama As usually otolaryngologist treats the glue ear. At least, as in Ukraine. As I said you need to test: audiogram and tympanogram. After that otolaryngologist determines the tactics of the treatment. What can I advise? - arrive in Ukraine and I can heal you! :)

  • how do you know for sure you have glue ear?

  • @avayomama presence of the glue ear is detected by various medical examinations, such as Tympanometry

  • oh yeah, why am i so addicted to this video?

  • yo make a hool

  • Firstly - it is not my ear)) - is a joke)). All microsurgical operations are performed under control by the operating microscope. My microscope has a digital video camera.

  • Hoe did you manage to get a camera up your ear

  • So THAT'S how it's done! I had three sets of tubes withing the first... I wanna say eight years of my life. They put me out but that's probably because I was a kid.

  • what is this?

  • can this be done without general anesthetic

  • @waslookat1me Usually, for adults, we do it under local anesthesia.

  • I am 67, male. I had ear tubes inserted 4 days ago to improve the feeling of glue in my eustachian tubes, and some hearing loss. I'm having them removed tomorrow morning, because I hated the effect. I lost all bass sounds ( low frequency ), and my ears feel more plugged than ever before. I wish I had never had it done. Of course, I didn't have fluid or infection, so I can only speak for myself.

  • Im Scared getting this on Thursday any advise? :( im only 12

  • omg.. what is he doing?

  • iv had grommets 6 times now,,

  • i had an ear infection once in both of my ears. i had to use ear drops and take this huge ass pills. all because i went swimming wayyyyyyyyyyyy to much in hawii lol. but in seriousness dont let this happen to you

  • I feel i need this in my left ear.

Always have problems with middle ear infections

  • tomorrow is christmas eve so for christmas, the best thing i could receive is my hearing...

im going in for an opperation tomorrow.

  • hi all, am sorry you have been experiencing pain associated with glue ear/otitis media :(

    i hope it clears up...

i was just wondering.. does anyone experience pain with the grommet in their ear?

  • ive got it now

ive been in pain for 3 days now its soo bad the pain i actually cried heartly and its been years since that happened

i have to see the doctor on monady and another day through pain

  • i've had 'glue ear' for around 23 years now, it's a pain. my left ear sounds like i've constantly got cotton wool in it and i can never go swimming because i can't get it wet, but the thing that pisses me off is that i can't listen to music properly because i can only really hear the right side, people...enjoy your hearing, you don't know how lucky you are...

  • in 15 years they will be able to give people haering back i think. through stem cells. it already happen in mice.

  • can you not get grommets iserted to get rid of this i know its so horrible ive had grommets twice now

  • I had them when I was much younger and have had them removed. I can't go swimming now either and have to put cotton wool in my ears when using the shower. Once I did get water in my ears and I went to the doctor. As a treatment he kicked me around his office until the infection went away. It hasn't been back since!

  • People with glue ear shouldn't drink milk or eat foods made from milk like cheese, etc. These mucus products thicken the blood and can contribute to glue ear. I imagine a very low fat diet would keep the blood thin, too, along with a lot of aspirin taken daily. Read that the herb goldenseal helps to reduce mucus build up in the body and is recommended for glue ear. All of the above info taken from Internet search engine results. Follow at your own risk.

  • if u leave glue ear unattended. Bye Bye hearing :|

  • Cool.. but what is "glue ear"? You need to put more in the "more info" section.

  • Glue ear is a painless condition in which thick, sticky fluid collects behind the eardrum. The fluid blocks the middle part of the ear and can cause impaired hearing.

  • Oh ok, thanks. I thought it was when you have so much earwax that it sticks your ear shut. This happened to me last week. :( Dr. told me to put olive oil in my ear for 3 days and it worked!

  • no problem!

  • the fluid can also gather, or instead gather around the middle ear bones, causing dampened conduction of sound (conductive hearing loss).

  • i have glue ear im getting this don soon it's painless but it so fucking anoying i hate the feeling

  • yea, it feels like you have bubbles, and mine first developed in on ear and the second after a month, bu tht 1 month made me feel sooo nuasietic... gl with treatment!

  • it does get painful, ive got it

  • yes your right there is pain that can last for periods of time but have you ever had any other ear conditions comparably much less painfull but im just speaking from personal experience. for you have different ears then i do.

  • hi, i am just curious.. do you take any pain killers to numb the pain?

  • no, just grin and bear it... :/

  • glue ear is a fluid build up behind the ear drum. i had my operation in feb 2009. I havent had a problem with my ear yet, but u arent allowed to get water into ur ear, it will get infected if water does get in. so its best to get a premade ear plug to fit ur ear cannal. Enough info? lol.

  • @TheAmazingChiki Dude i put water in mine :O

  • Ooh! Tubes in the ears! I had to have those when I was 6. I'm 22 now. They fell out a long time ago. They helped a LOT!

  • Comment removed

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DOESNT THAT HURT?! im a teen and i always get water behind my ear drums like now, and if i get it again they have to drain it, is this the same prsedure? (i hope not :p)

  • OMG! im getting one of this next week because i got Ear Infection and its so bad now that they gotta put one of those in my ear, this video scares me!

What happends if the tube falls out the wrong way (like, not outside the hole of your ear, i mean like the way to your brain) :(

  • i've had the opperation twice, once when i was 4 and again when i was 6. I promise you theres absolutely nothing to worry about. :)

  • lol, I came home yesterday from the hospital after this surgery and the reason this wasn't scary is because... i was drugged to sleep -.-

  • @thealextrueshow can you go scuba diving with the tube? I think if water goes in it will come out the moment I come out of the water cuz the tube is there.

    thank you

    waiting for the reply :)

  • @Rezaroth i dunno I've never been scuba diving.... :S probably not... or you could wear ear plugs?

  • @thealextrueshow same here but when i was 6-7 years. nothing at all to worry. they usually give you a gas or insert a pipe into your hand that injects a white liquid AKA 'magic milk' to prevent you feeling pain and rendering you unconscious so the operation can be completed without hassle. :)

  • its not possible, especially as behind your ear drum, is still part of your ear and not your brain

  • wat is glue ear?

  • What is "wat?"

  • I have this issue right now no way am I going to have that done.

  • then you will be unlikely to get better

  • Actually it did get better but it took a month to go away and it was big time annoying.

  • im getting myne done on 5th of feb so i was wondering wat they gonna do thanks for the vid man

  • what exactly is that metal ring they inserted in the ear drum ? is it permanent ?

  • This is a titanium tube. This form provides a long drainage tube drainage intratympanic.

  • is the tube stay for life or later taken out?

  • tube is intratympanic 2 - 12 months, depending on the severity of the disease.

  • @BadPwner dunno but the procider hurts like shit

  • im getting a grommit lol a little bead with a hole int he middle

  • i dunno if i have glue ear but i have a recourring problem, everytime i get a cole my left ear blocks up. something to do with the middle ear my doc says, anyways she told me to pinch my nose and blow air into my ears, i thought this sounded dangerous but for the past few times its actually worked. This time though i do it and i feel and hear the air go up but it still feels blocked and hearing is still effected, so do you think its glue ear ? i can hear ok just when i talk it echoes kinda.

  • man i hate when i get glue ear... it usually drains in about 2-3 weeks n thats too long n ive had it in both ears at the same time.... that wasnt fun

  • hats gue ear

  • I got glue ears and im 12yrs old doctors dont want to do any thing wit my ears because im to young it suck havin em aspeasily in winter :(

  • well then talk like a 12 year old

  • you spoke like that as a 12 year old?

  • i have a little baby who is gonna be having this procedure done next week.

  • im getting this done on thursday!

  • I had this done today...

Was wondering what it looked like.

  • reminds me of a gauge XD

  • nice, i like how you drained all that crap out, bet the patient felt immediatly better

  • I had glue ear once, its not fucking fun. old mucus drains through ur nasal passage into ur mouth, u hold ur nose and blow and u can feel all the shit in there mixing up, and u CANT fucking hear. My treatment was snorting warm saltwater through my nose and letting it run down my throat, and I got all the shit out in a few weeks :)

  • cooooool <3 I love medical vids when they FIX little issues like ears and warts and cysts. its cool ^^

  • that's really interesting. i was born with glue ear and so my hearing was pretty bad. i had to have 3 pairs of grommets and then my right eardrum burst, so my hearing is good but could be improved. i'm wondering if i should get hearing aids, not for all the time, but when i need to have them, like in noisy places. anyway, good video!
