  • Love the girl but who was that fat witch who was so rude to stand in front of the camera?

  • Yah but can she give a blowjob with out cutting off the sausage?

  • 2:03...Id like to hit it just like that.

  • Nice rack and nice moves, i would rather see her titties painted than that nasty orangutan tiittied hippie lady, i bet those old men in the video went home that night and just took there old hippie wives to pound town in the back of there VW bus

  • @redneckhippiejrm420 but you'd probably suck on those painted titties any day hrhrhreheheh

  • I think this is awesome. I also think it's petty and catty to "critique" the girl just because she looks good. She's obviously having fun, and I mean, come on. She's got a sword on her head. Nuff said! She rocks. I hope she starts doing this all around the world on tv in every country and that the people who complained are forced to see her on posters. Regularly.

  • Nice pan to the blonde with painted tits!

  • She reminds me of Jean claude Vandamme.LOOL

  • i was there lol im 14 i was smoking weed by there and that girl got shit faced high sitting next to me she had a huge bong

  • She is also very much into Yoga. The crouch shot as you put it was not as crotchy as you would think as she actually had something on underneath...I was there and watched the dance.....meow! Raven

  • You're amazingly limber but the swimming bit looked silly and flashing your crotch at the audience is rude. You've got talent. As another poster said, work on more dance and less tricks. You can show off your amazing flexibility and still look elegant.

  • Too much posing. Call me old fashioned. You need to dance. You're dancing was quite good...what little you did. Less tricks, more dance!

A couple of more tips, your bra is a little too big. Very distracting. Especially when you were doing shoulder shimmies. Try putting a wider band on the bra, that should give you more support. I also agree that you need to isolate the shoulders more. Right now, it's more of a chest shimmy...which always looks kind of raunchy no matter who does it.

  • no one gives a crap about all that you old fart especially when yer at the fair woo hoo!

  • awesome- even the croth flash. NOT SO AWESOME the titty shake....titty shake BAD shoulder isolation GOOD. Move those shoulders bad n forth instead of just giggling your tits. Boobies will move also anyway but it will look much, much, much nicer. I love it! Yout great! Let's meet at the drum tower on the first day of fair!!

  • OMGosh! Common! Girl you DANCE!

  • it dosen't matter, as far we know she really was entertaining the crowd, and she wasn't there to make any money !~!!

  • wow hmmmm I am a dancer got to say that was diferent hmmm liked everything except the open legged peek aboo thing where there was swimming i think? any way interesting u need to work on diferent moves so that is not repetitive. As always GoD Bless, Nura

  • Kathlene, I have read all of your posts and they are always disrespctful. I am greatful that my friends did not have a camcorder and tape me without my knowlege. I danced but for my husband and my friends called it the dance of suduction. I am sure that there is a yahoo out there that would say that it's their dance and I would be the next person degraded. Post your dance and let us all see if you measure up.

  • A lot of people think that some of the comments have been over the top. This is a very nice girl and like other's have said, probable jellous. Thanks for all of the other dancer's videos. There are a lot of outstanding arabic Dacers that are also awesome! Great dancers, just beautiful women.

  • So have any of you ladies checked out Shabnam's sword dance on youtube? Have you seen Sadie's video? Sorry for changing the subject~just thought you might enjoy their dancing. By the way, I think some of you are pretty harsh calling this dancer a "HO". Kinda mean of you, don't you think?

  • this girls mother trained to dance in the Bay Area in the early 70's. Got a clue? Most wish that they were there. Oh MY Lord, her mother trained in one of the biggest cultures of the time. (just in case you want to say that all Californians come from the land of fruits and nut) We have you to prove that attitude wrong.

  • It rocked their world when my daughter quit dancing. That is the kind of people that they are. Egyptian dancing might be your so called profession, but world dancing is their lives! Alaskan444 did her best to be respectful and profound. She had known the family longer than I and she is right about the talent in the family!

  • The only thing that I get from people that down right slam others is that they rarely will do it in an audiance where they can be faced. I am not the only one that decided to look you up and see you and your prof. style. Gee, we all came up with the same thing. No pic, no Video of how great you dance. This girl and mine danced for the first time in public 12 years ago and Serene had to force my daughter to do it! The dancer and her family are so great.

  • shalabanika, my math might not be the best in the world, but if you are 27 and you have danced for the last 10 years, how is it that you family in Boston had no idea about belly dancing? Did that mean that you lived on you own as a youth? Ten years of Dancing in all of the states that you have declared you have and having a family elsewhere makes me question your validity. I have went to Youtube and your name comes up Kathleen age 27

No dance, no pics. What is that?

  • I would like to know. have you and all of your Egyptian WANTABES EVER been tought or watched other dances outside of the Egyptian dance you decided to take a few classes in? If clicking on your name and are identified at a 27 year old that means that you have danced proffecionally since you were 17 years old. Since I am a 50 year old mother and have done the math. I find that there might be a problem with all that you have to say.

  • If the link that I clicked on for your's, WE CAN NOT comment on your dance because you did not post it! Everyone that has rude comments should at least give the websites to their dance so we can be as critical of your as the girl on this site that did this for the love of the dance and never titled it or even gave permission to have it posted. The law is that if you are in public you hold no claim to privacy! If you have an issue, take it up with the person who posted it.

  • Hey shalabanika, I guess that you haven't went to many middle eastern belly dancing websites. It that won't be enough of a shock for you and all of your other Egyptian wantabes, read their history. The floor dances were outlawed during English rule. The only thing that I have read in all of the posts was that she was giving the dancers of the Middle East a bad name and if they all did their homework they would know that she was not.

  • Turkish along with other Middle Eastern countries are inviting a mate. Dancing depicts something depending where you are and when you live near the ocean, there goes the swimming. You bet she had an invitation with her dance and that was to swim in the ocean! When you live in Hawaii half of you life the swimming part is easy! I will keep going on this post

  • I have read another website on dancing in Egypt and the standards for dancing in Egypt today requires a dance tax to non-residants. I just wanted to correct the last statement that I made. Information from one website to the other is conflicting.

  • continuing my previous post. Floor work was originally in belly dancing because belly dancing was to show the strength of the womans stomach, her ability to have sex, and her ability to perform child birthing. The outlawing of floor work and certain pelvic gyrating movements were not introduced until Egypt was heavily occupied by the English.and belly dance was even outlawed all together for about 7 years period.

  • pokahontasellegarcia, thank you for supporting the art of dance and asking hard questions. I have watched Middle Eastern dancers. Some that had their skirts slit to the unmentionables front and back and slits all the way over the thigh. Some have transparent material that shows everything but the part of the skirt that would look like elaborate spankies! You can see all. The writer and her cronies are just stuck on a country that they could never preform in by law yet they say it's this one

  • There are many countries that have adopted belly dance and have changed it to more depict their ways.

As for the music, I am not sure if it was recorded or if it was her father's. This girl's father has played the bongos for more years than some of the people reading this may have been in this world. The whole family is not only talented but are some of the most fun loving people that a person could ever meet. The dancer did not deserve the negitive comments a few had to say.

  • There are so many types of belly dance that it might take a person hours to read up on all of them. The student that did the last reserch goes to Sourthen Oregon University. It is a University of the Arts and is WORLD renouned along with the city and all other communities in a fifty mile radious. It is an all inclucive area as long as you do not feel that your view is the only view, that can have a very negitive effect on the closed or single minded person.

  • I would also like to say that some dancers use real swords and use the other swords for practice!

  • Shalabanjika, since you just never let go. I might suggest that you take the Egyptian bellydance back to the folk dance and be real. I have know a professional bellydancer and she danced in a club that served drinks. More than once the drunk men that she danced for thought that it was provocative enought to through business cards with invitations. We are finding your expert opinion old.

  • If a dancer respects the art form, we'll respect her. I commented on her expression, not her physical features. Bellydance is not a dance of seduction but a folk dance updated for the stage. It is sexy already b/c women are sexy. Sexy is fine but flashing the audience is not. That's what harem pants are for. Dancers like this make it harder for the rest of us to be taken seriously. As my husband commented, this is more gymnastics than bellydance.

  • You talk about this and that is illegal in another country, but this is not Egypt the last time I looked. So you have dance for 10 years, she has too and has also Danced at the University of Hawaii.... Would you let us all know what UNIVERSITIES that you have preformed at. Ambassadors are people that are in the world to encourage not to demean. The only thing that I see from your posts is that you are a posterchild of rude talk and I don't see any professional behavior in how you speak.

  • look, i keep replying because people keep asking me questions!!! I have performed at the University of South Carolina and the Savannah College of Art and Design. also I only mentioned that it is illegal in Egypt because someone claimed that this was Egyptian bellydance. Please read the whole thread to understand my comments.

  • I have read all of the comments and have to say that maybe you should re-read most of the comments. Most really do not care! Most are making comment on your remarks. Most people would love to send you to make your living in Egypt! You made a comment about the dancer's squinty eyes. If you knew her, you would know that every time she smiles that is how her eyes look. That is part of who she is and MAYBE she is not your idea of perfect, but she is to all of the people that know her.

  • I truly feel that I have more understanding than you do. Somehow you have not got it through your thick scull that NO ONE THAT TRULY KNOWS HER FILMED OR PROFESSES THAT SHE WAS DOING EGYPTIAN BELLY DANCE! THIS IS A VERY talented family and most people would only wish that they could be so LUCKY! She has never professed anything. She dances for the love of dance. Some random person submitted this video, she was not dancing with the stars.

  • SO, you look! you and a couple dancers are ofened. I don't see many belly dancers dancing with a sword on their head. Truthfuly you need a reality check. I would love to see more people dancing with the passion and understand that that sword is very real! Her movements are soft and it is still more than a dance, if that sword would have dropped, she would have been cut and bleeding. She is more than a dance! My daughter also reacted to what you said and I will reply to that too

  • my child and the dancer have danced for the past 12 years and you will be appalled, my daughter did the nature child's dance! Yep, four years old and she danced naked! Holy crap, we should have been arrested because we didn't live in anudest colony! That old friend that I spoke of, did the egyptian dance and the people watching found her more provacotive! I have seen both Egyptian and Polanision dance and I would take the latter.

    Egyptian Belly dance is dry!

  • i HAVE WATCHED EGYPTIAN BELLY DANCE AND IT IS THE SAME MOVE OVER AND OVER AGAIN! The only thing that you say is offencive is the costrume. You crack me up! At five end six years old the dancer and her friend MADE HEADLINES! All you ever had to say was that this is not Egyptian and give all of concerned a website! It is ok that you said that this girl isn't an Egyptian dancer, but you just fo one and on and on!

  • I am not going to say something bad,but it doesn't matter if she is or not egyptian she loves dancing you can tell, she is talented,...

what is wrong with her dancing this type of music...is it forbiden?please explain me...

  • There is nothing wrong with the music or the dance. There have been a few "Egyptian" belly dancers that think that this girls a problem because she does not dance as they do and do not like the title of the video. It all comes off as though she did something wrong. It is sad that the girl in this clip had know idea that it had even been put on youtube. First is was about the title and then it was about the style. There is also nothing wrong with the music.

  • Ok,thanks now i understand, thanks a lot i just was kind of confused, because many people have been mean about the video, you know what i mean, jealous people, and people that think they are perfect but they are not, thanks for clearing my doubt.

    Cheers

  • You are vety welcome. I have just been frying over those rude remarks. That so called pro. has been mean and made fun of this sweet girls squinty eyes and on and on. That is the way her eyes are when she smiles. Just a human trait. Serene is a beautiful YOUNG girl. She is getting married soon and I hope that the rest of the readers will wish her the best!

  • I think you are right i mean everybody is free to dance the way the like,or the way theirs bodies are made for, everybody is unique...why are they so jealous about maybe because they are not better than her, envy that's what some people have here they feel so small, and so miserable, that they think that making others feel bad could clean themselves of their own misery...

  • I have to say that I am going to sit on this website until shalabanjika quits. Even when it was stated that it was NOT the Egyptian dance she and a couple of other so called Egyptian dancers accused of her of trashing their dance. That woman can not give up. I have seen Arabic belly dancing and it was very profound. Hand motions of invitation. The fact that this person holds Egyption dance so dear and to look it up to find that she could be arrested for doing that dance was too funny!

  • i think so,i mean i am a girl i can see this girl dances really good she only dances a diferent mix of belly dance so what is wrong with that...i agree with you burney989.

poor girl she doesnt have nothing to do with the video, she didn't ask for them to film it so why these people atack her,is not her fault...as i said before, some people has nothing to do more than been rudes and stupid.

    Cheers

  • You are too cute! Just dance and do it any way you want to that's the way you need to! Dance when really personal is always a one of a kind dance. The first time my daughter danced in public she was 8 years old and she danced with Serene and it was an invitation to dance by Celtics straight from Ireland. Better to be well rounded than in a mold and single minded. The next time I saw her dance was at 14 on stage. Her PE class was dance! The only reason she is not making it a career?

  • Yes is true, some people can dance others are just not for but a real dancer is the only who feels the music and moves with it,like the girl in the video,i imagine your daughter will be a great dancer,so let her feel it i mean the music if she started at that age,she will be doing wonderful i a couple of years...you'll see ...

    Cheers

  • Everyone should dance and do it without rude comments! The next time a person decides to judge, they should know everything about the dance that they are fighting for. Arrested? That was one claim. The pro could not dance in Egypt, it is against the law and no one has to look very far on the internet to read that no one (Non-Egyption) is allowed to dance in that country. There is so much more. One commented that the dancer showed all by 3" of her thigh! Look at the Middle Eastren Videos!

  • I believe that some of this has to do with the body style itself. If you look at Middle Eastren belly dancers they are extremely thin. Women that dance from the South Pacific have beautiful curved figures. They are all as beautiful as their dance. I am suprised that the Pacific dancers have not taken offence. I think that they just have more class!

  • Shae was going to go to the University for dance, but school funding for PE and the arts are all on the line. When she quit dance her instructor emplored her not to. Shae's views were that the best were allowed to do what ever they could compose. Those who needed help were kicked to the curb. The condeming woman has danced for ten years and these girls have danced all of their lives. If Shae didn't need the paycheck she would teach dance! WITH KNOWELEGE and history.

  • The woman that keeps going on and on about the dance and at one time it was about the girls look and then if the dancer was in Egypt she would have been arrested for her moves. She can not even let it go when it was stated that the dance wasn't Egyptian. The music is fine, the dance is fine it is just a few people that can not get over it. Shae Loki, a student of dance went to another student that has everything Egyptian helped her do the research and dance in Egypt.

  • I think you are a bit confused. Another poster claimed this is Egyptian, hence my comment. I have not claimed that my issue with this show is that it is not Egyptian, or that I hate nudity, but the crotch-flashing etc.

  • Let the debate continue. You husband is middle eastern and he had never seen belly dancing???? Unless he did not have access to a TV, none of us can figure out how he had never seen a belly dancer. Between the internet and television most of the middle eastern countries are very well covered. There are two rules of thought. Your husband was either too involved in school or too poor to have the opertunity to see a TV showing.

  • The best thing that you could have ever done for yourself is to say that she is not dancing Egyptian. Once you started trashing that girl, you opened yourself up to be slammed in every conceivable way. If you want to see floor dancing, start going throught that aribic belly dance. First I will tell you that they can dance any Egyptian Belly Dancer off the stage. I wish that one or more of them would mentor this dancer! They are awesome! Get the hint! Or are you that dense?

  • I would like to know more about your formal training. Fromal trainers tell about all forms of the dance that you are going to learn and not a certian style. There are gymnastics and isometrics. I do not know if you know the difference and if you do, I want to know how you could not admit that there is anything out there beside your reveired dance of the Egyptians. Look it up for yourself, they don't have the same respect for you that you do for them and their dance.

  • You have claimed that others have suggested that this girl is dancing Egyptian. There are a few of you out there that have said that this girl has given the Middle Eastren dancers a bad name. Research shows that Floor Dance is a huge part of Middle Eastern Dance. As for the crotch-flashing.... I called this girl's mother and asked what she had on under that skit. She was conpletely cover!

  • If I would have not already purchased this young lady's wedding gift, I would have made her an Aribic skirt! You think that we are all stupid, but I have hand sewn my daugher's dance skirts. That was a mistake because I had 25 dancers calling my home asking if I could do the same for them. It was an eight point (black skirt) with matching spankies. I hope, because you are a dancer of the world that you know what spankies are. If not, I will give you a lesson.

  • Spankies are... thick panties that go over panty hose and underware so that NO ONE can see anything not meant to be seen! And most of the time they match the skirt that the dancer is wearing. I am not as stupid as you might think and I have lived in more places than most would think. Detroit area, Chicago, Louisville, San Francisco, Sacramento and beyond. I owned a buffalo ranch too and I bought the first breeding calfs from this dancer's parents!

  • I have seen more than you will probably see in a lifetime. I can have cocktails with the rich, which I have, and can sit at a farmer's table which I have also done. I have been very poor and worked on a farm to feed my children and I now live in a very nice Californian home. I base my opinions quickly and it is from what I hear people say and the way they act and how they speak.

  • Actually that sword is not real. It is a Harry Saroyan sword produced just for dancing. Most "real" swords do not balance on their edge but fall flat when put on the head. It has no edge and wouldn't cut someone no matter what. If you don't believe me, check out my myspace or facebook page under my stage name given earlier and you will see photos of me dancing with the exact same sword, LOL. also please remember that both you and I are entitled to our own opinions & have the right to state them.

  • First, the poster that you are talking about wasn't the person that put the video online. So, someone else is confused. Then maybe you should have just corrected the person that made that remark. UNDERSTAND that this girl never stated that she was doing an Egyptian dance. She never knew that her dance was taped, let alone titled. As for as making swords and knives balance..... You don't know what your are talking about. My husband is a metal man and guess what?

  • A profecional metal person can balance if they melt the medal in the proper way. OH MY GOD, now you are going to tell me that you know more about metal than my husband who not only has a degree in metal but teaches everything down to welding. He has made knives and swords and he CAN get them to ballance. Maybe you should get some ballance in you way too small world of Belly dance. How appaled were you went the song came out, Walk Like an Egyptian. I wonder, death to the singer?

  • I will keep stating my opinions, can you keep up? The biggest thing that most people that read these post have to say is that they do not like the trash talk that you seem to spew! I don't know who is going to have the last laugh here since you have the LOL, but I have written some letters to those East Coast Universities. I have suggested that they read all of the posts and research the dancers that they invite to dance since they are thinking they have the best.

  • I hate to burst your bubble, but I could not find a law about how she dances, and have found no such law, except one that bans foreigners from performing in Egypt. Also belly dancing technically is the pole dancing of Egypt it is performed in clubs for the enjoyment of whoever wants to be there.Serene has performed at a universities in Hawaii and many competitions, and if your so professional why are you commenting on youtube? shouldn't you be off rehearsing for the next time a school calls you?

  • Shalabanjika is this you on myspace? Raqs Sharki's

  • I have read the thread from page one and the only people that even bring up egyptian bellydance are the people who keep putting the girl down and saying that its not egyptian belly dance. I think you need to reread the whole thread.

  • Some have said that your husband had to be in a very rural area or very poor not to have seen belly dance on TV or the internet and it can be more provocative than all of what I have seen to date.

  • I feel that your disrespect for her is a disrespect of the art form. I would like you to actually do some reasearch on belly dancing Turkish belly dance involved the thrusting and flashing of the pelvic area and other worse thing than the dancer in this video has done, also it is not wrong to combine two different styles of belly dance that is how Greek belly dance came around, and the only belly dancing that is "folk dance" is referred to as the tradition styles and they originated in Africa!

  • which art form? That is the question that I am putting out to you as the greatest dancer outside of Egypt. Your husband is from Turkey and his comment is that she is more gymnastic? Turkey has some of the most lude belly dancing in the world. You said that he didn't know belly dancing until he married you. If he never saw the dance in Turkey, how can he have an educated comment other than the one that you have given him. Does he even know gymnastics other than what you have shown him?

  • Shalabanjika,, how can you ask someone to respect an art form when I don't think that you have studied past the Egyptian belly dance? You said that your husband commented that this was more than a belly dance yet you also said that he was Turkish and had never seen a belly dance until he met you. I have been told that Turkish belly dance is broadcast on all of the limited TV shows that are approved by the government.

  • PS. She nor her family put this video on here, it was put on a by a random bystander who evidently found her dancing to be beautiful, and sexy, and isn't that how every woman wants to feel?

  • Serene has studied Tahitian and Belly Dance in Hawaii. She learned this dance from a teacher and it included the gymnastics including the leg hold. OH GOD! You may have seen her underwear, in professional dance you see underwear and cleavage. Hell in high school dance you see underwear and cleavage. She's a great girl who has danced at University's and belly dance is about the celebration of the dancers body. AS for the "slanty eyes" haven't you heard that not all people look the same?

  • She has a name and it is not Ho, it is Serene and she is the furtherest thing from a HO! I have known her since she was a little girl and she has taken Hola lessons along with belly dancing and she is a good girl!Probably more innocent than the women that are calling her names! She is more than just a dance and I feel that she & her friend, my daughter have education and goals past dance. I feel sorry for those that are reduced to name calling. Who are you really!

  • Dance it up, sister! That is awesome.

  • lADIES WE ARE LOOSING THE REASON WHY WE DANCE, IT IS A CREATIVE WAY OF BEING.MYSTICAL AND MAGESTIC,THERE ARE TWOS SIDES TO THIS STORY THE DANCERS THAT HAVE FOUGHT HARD AND LONG TO CHANGE PUBLIC OPINION THAT BELLY DANCERS ARE OF ILL REPUTE,AND A THE YOUNG SOCIETY THAT ARE NOT HELD BY THE OLD PRINCEPLES, BOTH HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HEARD,THIS YOUNG LADY IS A BEUTIFUL DANCER BUT NEEDS TO LOOSE SOME OF THE GYMNASTIC SIDE OF THINGS AND CONCENTRATE ON HER DANCE,

  • Wow! I recognize this girl. She won a trophy last year at the Seven Feathers Casino Belly Dance Competition. You go girl! You're an amazing belly dancer!

  • The State of Oregon has no laws against nudity, however, The Oregon Country Fair requires that genitalia be covered.

  • "requires that genitalia be covered." During public hours....

  • Bellydance is very misunderstood. I've seen people's eyes bulge and a horrified expressions come over their faces when I say I bellydance. An unfavorable image comes to mind, and I spend at least 5 min in explanation. People in our community see us perform and ask where to take classes.

Always remember: you may be the FIRST and ONLY exposure someone has to bellydance; what kind of impression do you want to give? It's "shows" like these that give bellydance a baaaad name.

  • "It's "shows" like these that give bellydance a baaaad name."

First off, Thats like your opinion man, not a fact. She is a fine dancer, she's young, and not the most experienced dancer I 've seen, but she's doing great. She isnt one of the regular belly dancers, she's like a street entertainer.

The Fair does have a troupe of Belly Dancers that perform regularly in the Gypsy Caravan Stage. they are great, and so is the music.

Nudism is allowed at the fair, she could be naked if she wanted.

  • You're right, she IS a fine dancer. Except the way she's dancing there's usually a pole nearby. Nudism at a fair?? No wonder people have no respect for themselves or others. Nudism is for colonies, beaches, and places of ill repute. Definitely not at a fair. Besides, shows like these do give bellydance bad PR. It degrades a beautiful, feminine dance to nothing more than an invitation for some other kind of fun. Remember, men are visual, so this definitely starts something for them.

  • LOL! the worst stipper ive ever seen. I think your assertions about nudity and respect are stupid. Im a member of AANR, and your wrong about nudism. You dont see much nudity at the fair, but it is allowed.

She is inviting tips, thats how street venders make money.

By your standards, one could say that bellydancing gives "legitimate" dancing a bad name.

Visit the fair yourself before making rash statemnts about nudity, and self respect. I dont think your bad, just ingnorant.

  • what degrades the beautiful, feminine dance? seeing too much of the beautiful feminine form?

the ocf is an event where ppl engage in as much nudity as they feel comfortable with. why should you care that people exorcise more or less levels of nudity and sexuality according to their own degree of comfort? this shouldn't threaten you or your art form.

  • You are so right, I couldn't have said it better. No disrespect to the dancer as a person, but I just wish the title didn't say bellydancing, because it's pretty far from the real thing, actually.

  • You're absolutely right. It is pretty far from the real thing. Thanks!

  • It's wonderful she has inherited/learned a definitely feminine dance from her mother. Very cool! However, it's not her morals/personality/etc that's in question, it's the WAY she's showing her gift. She's showing off cleavage, spreading her legs, and when she gets up, flicks her skirt back showing all but 3" of her upper thigh. This is not bellydancing--this is practically invitation.

  • Fabulous movements and flexibility this dancer has. Shalanajika your comments are rude and give all women and belly dancers a bad name. Support your fellow dancers instead of denigrating them with your shallow views.

  • I went to college with this girl's mother and we've been best friends for 30 years. I am so happy that her daughter has inherited her mother's love and talent for dancing! This truly talented family travels together to these fairs; her mother even hand beads her daughter's costumes. Some of the nasty comments made are SO far from the truth. Please look into yourself before you judge others.

  • Also anyone who calls someone a whore who you don't know, and because she doesn't dance the way YOU want her to Speaks more about YOUR character than hers.

    are you always like this

what do you call a woman who wear mini skirt? or lots of eye make-up?

  • and tell me Shalanban why do you belly dancers think that evey dancer who dance is the posterchild for bellydance art form?

why does she have to be

  • for any show you will find that for alot of the audience it is the first time they've ever seen a bellydancer, and the average joe doesn't see more than a few bellydancers in their lifetime, so many times the dancer is the ambassador/posterchild for bellydance!

  • Bologna. I don't know how old you are, but most women and a lot of men that I know have seen belly dance, its a pretty wide spread thing these days, but yet you ignore the comment against your professionalism.

  • As someone who has performed for 10 years in Chicago, GA., SC, and NC, believe me I have met many people who have never seen it before, especially in non-Atlanta GA! When I started dancing none of my family in Boston had ever seen it before. Also, my husband, who is from Turkey, had never seen it in person until he met me, believe it or not! There are many types of people and experiences, not just those you know! Your aquaintances aren't really an accurate example of the general population.

  • she is good

    and cute

  • Can you say JEALOUS?!!!!! What video are you watching? She's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I don't think OFFENSIVE has a place in this video....Keep on dancing:)

  • I never said she should not keep on dancing, maybe just learn how to belly dance with class and some cultural integrity. If criticizing someone I don't know in a video is weakness, I wonder: aren't many videos of performances put up so that the artist may receive criticism? You have about 30 million replies to comments on YouTube you'd better get started on.

  • YES of course, but CRITICISM should be used on the DANCE....NOT the persons appearance"squinty horrible expression"....You called the girl a ho..come on now..I think THAT is what shows WEAKNESS...Do you know her? Obviously the group of people watching her enjoyed it:) You do have the right to you own opinion....but when the OBJECTIVE of your opinion is to BELITTLE a person & not the ACT ,it raises some questions on WHY someone would be so RUDE...

  • How offensive. People like this give belly dance a bad name. Never mind the squinty horrible expression on her face. What a ho.

  • To criticize a person you don't even know is WEAK!!!!!!! Does it make YOU feel better to call her HO? Do we have LOW SELF ESTEEM? Watch the video again...I think you saw the wrong one:)

  • I find this video offensive b/c I have spent years dancing professionally and have often had to "prove" to audiences that I am not a stripper or "exotic dancer". A belly dancer never opens her legs for all to see her crotch. She would be arrested in Egypt. The dance is provocative on its own, she does not have to dance like a stripper. The video has touched a nerve but not as you assumed. Dancers like this ruin what the rest of us to do show that it is an art, not an excuse for exhibitionism.

  • How offensive, I'll tell you whats offensive, you sit and call yourself a professional dancer, and yet you sit and make comments comments on her physical appearance and call names,no professional would do this. Also this girl is not dancing Egyptian belly dance but is dancing Tahitian, and I believe either Indian (from India, not native American), or Russian belly dance. To make fun of her appearance it to show your own insecurity, and as for the ho comment, it takes one to know one.

  • Of course she is not dancing Egyptian,

Egyptians do not do floorwork as it is illegal. Also I was not aware that Tahitian dancers do splits. Whatever she is dancing, the presentation is Middle Eastern. Professionals try to maintain certain standards, such as not flashing your crotch to the audience. Belly dance is sexy, it's not necessary to swim thru the dirt & help the raunchy image of bellydance many have in the U.S. If she wants to feel sexy she can do it w/out sabotaging the art form.

  • no bellydancer with a sense of decency or middle eastern culter would open her box for all to see and admire during her performance
