Always wondered why the announcer never said goro, it never said it in mk1 aswell. i was playing my pc version of trilogy today and when i picked kahn it said his name, i dont think it said it in the psx version though
This game is fun but the bosses being permanently selectable kinda ruins the experience for me. Had they hid them under a code like the N64 version it would make the game more balanced cuz when I play this game with friends, the bosses are always the cheap way out. They could get away with that on this version but on N64 they can't unless they know the code.

@MultiUncensored I wish it played the right music on the right levels. The SNES version of UMK3 would have been perfect if only it had better graphics. I'm probably in a minority but Rain is one of my favourite characters.
@94mav98 Some of the music doesn't fit the level but i though The Tower music fit better on The Pit 2 for some reason. Also this is the only version of MK3 with Baraka in it, hes my favorite character

Funny thing is, if you beat this game with Classic Subby, you get a promise that was never fulfilled. His ending says that he is a "Long forgotten warrior who will make his return in the fourth tournament". That never actually happened. The warriors who return in MK4 are Young Subby, Scorpion, Reptile, Sonya, Jax, Cage, Noob, Goro, Raiden, and Liu Kang. None of which would be "Long Forgotten", and all were in Trilogy, so they can't be a fake Subby.
@Jatycre I believe it was a referance to Goro. Remember you did get this ending on UMK3 on arcade, so maybe they didn't anticipate having a trilogy inbetween. But yeah I had not thought about that for ages until you mentioned it :)

Goro would have to do a lot of work to disguise himself as Subby. However, he technically is the only "long forgotten" MK warrior who returns in MK4, so you could be right.

Actually the more I think about TMK's theory, the more it seems to be the only one that fits. Since, as he said, it's an ending ripped straight from UMK3, which did not feature Goro, and by the time UMK3 released, Goro was long forgotten. Though it's still a bit awkward that classic Subby only has two arms, and isn't really tall enough.

And, at that time, Mythologies wasn't even in the works, so the whole storyline of Noob being Subby hadn't even been thought up. And remember, the ending said it wasn't even really Sub-Zero, it was a different warrior entirely. That alone eliminates Noob in any way, even if they were thinking of making him a spectre of Subby, because then he wouldn't be another warrior.

I think MK Trilogy is better on Playstion. Although like u mentioned, it would've been kool if Motaro and Shao Kahn kept their fatalities from the N64 version. Also some of the fatalities, but very few on the N64 version are modified a bit. like Human Smokes 1-2-3 Stretch fatality and Scorpion has a 3rd Fatality.

Hey This Is Jordan Roman. A big huge fan of the mk series. In MK Trilogy for N64 There is a cheat in the game. The Cheat is BLK,HK,LK,RN,LP,HP,HP,HP,LP,LP. But you have to do it really really fast. Hope U try it. You're Welcome.

If you ask me i think the mix up of the stage musics is a good thing. To me any soundtracks can fit with any stage to me. Another reason is because i did not really like the pit II soundtrack so other ones take its place that fit right in.
I love the N64 one but I would also like to have to have the PS version. They had significant advantages over eachother. If only there was a arcade Trilogy without loading...
Can secrets like chameleon and the question mark and all of those secrets work if its played on ps2? cuz i did the codes to unlock the question mark but it doesnt seem to work
i personally enjoyed the N64 version.But thats just me.Plus on the N64 one,you get a arcade like intro whereas on the ps1 version you do not.Plus,no load times is always a plus.
i play this on my ps2 cause it beats having to unpack my ps1 console but the problem is the cheat menu doesnt work when you pres the l1 l2 r1 l2 it wont bring up the menu which must be another compatibility issue with it not being compatible with the ps2 100% but i also think they should have had the original old version of shang tsung and also then had the 3 levels that had shang in the background of the origi version it would have been more complete and have added the subzero model from mk2
I was just playing the saturn version of this tonight for a bit and was amazed at how much easier it was compared to the ps1 version. Also, my ps1 version is the original released version so it's quite glitchy. the most annoying glitch for me is how if you use goro and do his fireball, the music changes to the subway music. This happens every time he does a fireball.
The Playstation version was better than the N64 as you got to play as all 4 bosses, Human Smoke and MK3 Sub Zero.
If you held Up + Start on Noob Saibot (P1) or Rain (P2), then the character would be randomly selected.
The only downside I think was that they omitted the levels Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine and Throne Room from MK1. (They could have put Shao Kahn in Shang Tsung's place in the Throne Room like The Courtyard.)

Jade is soooooooooo hard to beat on umk for ds in later levels i want to tear my hair out because there is no difficulty ajust in the options like there is for puzzle kombat. I kick ass in mkt with ermac though.
I've got MKT on my psp, I love it and all MK series but after many years now I can say that MKT has the worst computer ever, I mean its so unrealistic. Maybe its just my version of the game or something but when I play MKT the computer opponent is ridiculously hard, even on normal or easy (yea I know its shame) but that's true, and its not like I sucks at game, I played it many times. The computer always know what you gonna do he is perfect and I wont even start to talk about Jade... I hate her.
they didnt have time to map the sprites, due to the high demand of the game. if they wouldve done it, it wouldve taken so long people would get mad and not buy it, and the series couldve bombed at MK3

they had the original sub-zero in it thats the sub-zero from mortal kombat 1 but they didn't have the younger brothers alternate costume which would have been sweet and easy to put in.
Because Midway probably knew they fucked up with the original MK3, so they made up any excuse to look like they were strict and in control of what they were doing. They left out Rayden in MK3 because his sprite actor's brother got fired?!, yet they begged him to come back for MKT because they couldnt find a replacement. Bullshit and laziness.
And they wouldve had to credit the old actors, which includes Daniel Pesina.. who Midway despised at the time, but thats still laziness.
No. The sprites that were reused were from actors who were not fired pre-MK3, while the sprites that weren't reused were from actors that were in fact fired pre-MK3. From what I know, Midway fucked up on the MK1 and 2 contracts, because it stated that they would have to pay the actors royalties if they brought their sprites into a new game. Case in point: the lawsuit between the actress who played Sonya in MK1 and Midway because they used her sprites in an MK2 stage without paying her royalties.
Mercy is needed for Animalities...thats on MK3, UMK3 and MKT. AGGRESSOR was just like "rage" mode on MK vs DCU you do more damage in that mode and take less. Brutalities were done with a very long style combo after finish him...sorta like Killer instinct.

Playing as Goro & Kintaro is a lot of fun.
It makes those cheap characters like Stryker, Kabal & Motaro so much easier.
I love how easy Motaro is when you fight him as 1 of the bosses. 5-6 hits & boom, he's down.

arrgh good times. I got this game for playstation and It was awesome!. Yeah I defo remember kintaro being the most powerful player in the game! I loved the fact that you had all backgrounds and players from all 3 games. I do wish that they could have had classic old school boss hang tsung that would have been cool. Hey This Is Jordan Roman. A big huge fan of the mk series. In MK Trilogy for N64 There is a cheat in the game. The Cheat is BLK,HK,LK,RN,LP,HP,HP,HP,LP,LP. But you have to do it really really fast. Hope U try it. You're Welcome.

If you ask me i think the mix up of the stage musics is a good thing. To me any soundtracks can fit with any stage to me. Another reason is because i did not really like the pit II soundtrack so other ones take its place that fit right in.

i personally enjoyed the N64 version.But thats just me.Plus on the N64 one,you get a arcade like intro whereas on the ps1 version you do not.Plus,no load times is always a plus.

the agressor mode allowed you to have unlimited run meter, i don't think it makes you stronger..

i play this on my ps2 cause it beats having to unpack my ps1 console but the problem is the cheat menu doesnt work when you pres the l1 l2 r1 l2 it wont bring up the menu which must be another compatibility issue with it not being compatible with the ps2 100% but i also think they should have had the original old version of shang tsung and also then had the 3 levels that had shang in the background of the origi version it would have been more complete and have added the subzero model from mk2

I was just playing the saturn version of this tonight for a bit and was amazed at how much easier it was compared to the ps1 version. Also, my ps1 version is the original released version so it's quite glitchy. the most annoying glitch for me is how if you use goro and do his fireball, the music changes to the subway music. This happens every time he does a fireball.

The Playstation version was better than the N64 as you got to play as all 4 bosses, Human Smoke and MK3 Sub Zero.
If you held Up + Start on Noob Saibot (P1) or Rain (P2), then the character would be randomly selected.
The only downside I think was that they omitted the levels Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine and Throne Room from MK1. (They could have put Shao Kahn in Shang Tsung's place in the Throne Room like The Courtyard.)

I've got MKT on my psp, I love it and all MK series but after many years now I can say that MKT has the worst computer ever, I mean its so unrealistic. Maybe its just my version of the game or something but when I play MKT the computer opponent is ridiculously hard, even on normal or easy (yea I know its shame) but that's true, and its not like I sucks at game, I played it many times. The computer always know what you gonna do he is perfect and I wont even start to talk about Jade... I hate her.

they didnt have time to map the sprites, due to the high demand of the game. if they wouldve done it, it wouldve taken so long people would get mad and not buy it, and the series couldve bombed at MK3

they had the original sub-zero in it thats the sub-zero from mortal kombat 1 but they didn't have the younger brothers alternate costume which would have been sweet and easy to put in.

Because Midway probably knew they fucked up with the original MK3, so they made up any excuse to look like they were strict and in control of what they were doing. They left out Rayden in MK3 because his sprite actor's brother got fired?!, yet they begged him to come back for MKT because they couldnt find a replacement. Bullshit and laziness.
And they wouldve had to credit the old actors, which includes Daniel Pesina.. who Midway despised at the time, but thats still laziness.

No. The sprites that were reused were from actors who were not fired pre-MK3, while the sprites that weren't reused were from actors that were in fact fired pre-MK3. From what I know, Midway fucked up on the MK1 and 2 contracts, because it stated that they would have to pay the actors royalties if they brought their sprites into a new game. Case in point: the lawsuit between the actress who played Sonya in MK1 and Midway because they used her sprites in an MK2 stage without paying her royalties.

Mercy is needed for Animalities...thats on MK3, UMK3 and MKT. AGGRESSOR was just like "rage" mode on MK vs DCU you do more damage in that mode and take less. Brutalities were done with a very long style combo after finish him...sorta like Killer instinct.
