....and second and the MOST WONDERFUL was diving there....it was the first time I saw the fisherman's hook from the fish point of view.....I was pretty deep and saw a bunch of fish swimming in a circle forming a perfect cylinder formation and as I got closer in the middle was a fishermen's hook with bait on it......I thought to myself....wow only here in Okinawa....I wished I had a camera.
2 firsts for me at Maeda....the first was cliff jumping, the water was instant 80 feet where we jumped off and you could never hit bottom so it was safe....and there was a cave that you could use as a short cut to climb back up but fire coral at the edges you had to watch out for as it would make you blister.
Sometimes... very rarely, but sometimes I do miss Okinawa. Diving the island at spots like Maeda are about the only good memories I have of being stationed there. This really was the best dive spot on the island.
When I was there this was my favorite place to spend time. Used to jump inside the cave and off the side of the cliffs. Great swimming especially at night.
Not a problem. There's more to this video that I'll try to get up here later. But, to tell the truth, I didn't really think anyone would ever watch this, much less comment on it. Thanks.
