  • Thankyou Scott for answering and giving more clarity so something I always knew and understood as a Catholic, but couldn't ever explain quite so eloquently.....The Scriptural breakdown is invaluable, and the beauty of the Eucharist and how we partake in the 'Wedding Feast' too - Indeed it's our garments. Many thanks...

  • Beautiful you don't need to be a scholar to understand (2/3)

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • @sedg1 It not "sola scriptura" alone. you have no spirit of truth in yourself. man's wisdom is foolishness to God. By the Holy Spirit and the Grace of God, you can be able to see what God sees, based on the Bible, Church traditions, and the teachings of the authority of the church.

  • The true church of Jesus Christ is a relationship, not a membership. It doesn't have a roof or an address. We are the Body of Christ, those of us who have accepted His work on the cross for our sins 2000 years ago, once and for all. Our names have been written in the Book of Life from the beginning.

  • @johnthreesixteen316 where does it say in scripture that it is a relationship and not ...

  • scripture tells us of the Catholic church! 1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

    Seems clear from scripture!

  • @progressfabbrian Amen to that! Read Revelation 17......a false religious system who is "drunken with the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Jesus Christ." "Sits on seven hills." etc. etc. In Revelation 18 Christ commands his people to "come out of her."

  • @progressfabbrian HUSH!!!

  • I guess the theme is give all you have away to the leaders of the churches and they will give it back to those that need thereafter? Or, should we just go down to the sea, cast a hook in and pick up a coin out of the fishes mouths and pay every tax collector off and then we would not have to worry about working paying welfare and social security off. Church and government. I wonder who will finally get hold on the human rule?

  • Does everyone miss the point? The book of Acts spell out the operation of the Church of Christ. Did they not sell all they had? Did not they give it to the feet of the Apostles? Did not the Apostles give back to those that hath need out of that financial deliverance? (equally?) So, the original church was like communism but with Christ at the head and not some men. Sounds like a good Socialistic state of peoples.

  • So you believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist; and that Jesus gave His authority to His priests to forgive sins; that He gave the Keys of His Kingdom to Peter; that He comanded Peter to be His Vicar on earth; that anyone who rejects His representative on earth is rejecting Himself;

    ????

Do you really believe in every word of the bible?

  • When the Philippian prison guard asked Paul, "What must I do to be saved?,"

did Paul answer, "You must become a member of the Roman Catholic church?"

    No, he responded:

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" Acts 16:31

  • How can you believe in Jesus if you do not believe what He says?

  • @catolicobruno

    The Bible says:

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Why then does the catholic church teach that Mary is also an intercessor and our co-redeemer? Sounds like you need to study your Bible. It "IS" God's word not just an old book to be trampled by the traditions of men.

  • sedg1 if you deepened yourself and trying to know more truth you ended up Catholic. No other than....I will not to become one but try to study more on it. Dont stop it here, just go on study more....

  • Jesus said I didn't come to abolsih the Law but to fulfill it. Before Jesus they were sacrificing unblemished lamb. Jesus is sacrifice in the eucharist symbolic and literally I believe. Luke "The wise and foolish builder" ,'Why do you call me Lord, Lord yet do not do what I tell you?' It is not about churches. I was a Catholic whom learned about Christ in a protestant church but wanted more of Christ so I prayed then he answered. It's the Catholic Church.

  • That's because there was only one church back then and not 52,000 different Protestant churches today world wide.

  • @sedg1 what are you're saying is not true, and you have no spirit of truth in yourself. you can't built anything with hatred, it will eventually destroy yourself completely. In the book of Exodus, God promised to Moses a kingdom of priest and the Holy nation, which is means the Holy Church of the chosen people. And the teachings of the church is based on holy scriptures, church traditions, and the teaching of church authority that is the pope, holy father of the church.

  • @sedg1 Wow, in just a few sentences, you have (with your vast but simple intellect) answered all the questions! The rest of us are in awe. St. Augustine, Ignatius of Antioch, St. Jerome and St. Thomas Aquinas were all just a bunch of dunderheads compared to you. If only you could have been there for these giants of theology you could have set history on its right path!

  • @sedg1 Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other apostles, “What are we to do, my brothers?” 38 Peter [said] to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit..."

Trinitarian baptism makes you a member of the Church. Acts 2:41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day.

  • @sedg1 Re: concerning a comment that you made a very long time ago. Three years ago to be exact. You let the comment stand which of itself invites others like me to make comment. And my comment is, what is your point? As a Roman Catholic am I troubled that you are a non-Catholic Christian? Not at all. Scott Hahn is not asking you or any other non-Catholic to convert to Catholicism. He himself felt called to become Roman Catholic. This man is informed. Try to be open, listen and learn from him.

  • Incredible and a charming man.

The knowledge and the facts are so overwhelming and more the reason why all should be catholics.

I love this video series, and I hope and pray that, God encourages and helps all who see this video to recieve with an umbiaised minds and hearts to welcome The Catholic Church as the true Church of Jesus Christ on earth.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Welldone and God bless †

  • This guy is really brilliant! I need to hear/read more of him!

  • Scott Hahn is a convert to Catholicism. He used to be an anti-Catholic protestant who converted people to the protestant religion. Yet, he has more faith and knowledge about the Catholic faith than 99.9 percent of lifelong Catholics! God bless him!

  • Praise be to God, to have someone outside the Catholic Church to study it so deeply and assume its teachings so much that it really shames us "insiders". To me, he personifies Paul. But where Paul was weak in words and strong in deed, this is the reverse. You can hear the conviction and dedication in his words, testifying to the truth in simple forms. Praise be to God.

  • Thank you catolicobruno for posting this video. Dr. Hahn is the greatest of teachers. You have done a great thing by sharing his work with a wider audience. May God Bless you abundantly! (grateful catechist)
