@oscarxiques yeah!! That's what they should have done back in the early 80's with the BOY album!! all those kick ass rocking sounds and songs would sound amazing without drums and bass!
You fucking retard, Larry Mullen Jr. owns and started the band U2. so get fucked.
i heard a recent acoustic performance by bono and edge. bono s voice is unbelievable, hes actually hitting pavarotti notes very easily. hes definitely back to his best.
This is a great song; and I am huge U2 fan. But...the vocals are in the C to B range. I know YouTubers will complain and flame, but honestly, this does not compare to U2 in the 1980s.
This actually takes the song back to its original inception, but without Larry and Adam, it just doesn't cut it.
i really enjoy this version, although true it is 1/2-step down so it's in D-flat major, and the highest note is a G-flat. bono's voice was indeed fairly scratchy during popmart and elevation (note performances of "bad")...
that being said, he's regained much of his vocal power somehow during the vertigo tour & onward.
ps: i'm sure you've seen Rattle & Hum but if you haven't, check out the version of In God's Country, you can find it on YouTube & it's really on fire
The Rattle and Hum version of "In God's Country" is also downed to a more comfortable vocal performance.
I don't really care. Sure Bono's grown older and his voice has grown rustier, but as long as they're still songwriting and performing old songs as moving as they do, they could take it down as low as they want.
Very nice song from the brilliant Joshua Tree album. This song always takes me to another place. This version proves how superb Bono and The Edge harmonise together when they're sharing the microphone!
brings a tear to my eye every time

Could any guitar player say what chords is the edge using?
lecterpoli 3 years ago
It's very easy: (key of D)
D Am -for verses
Em G D - for chorus
However it's important to catch right tempo and strumming
ZooropaDweller 3 years ago
Yes, but here Edge is playing C Major instead of E Minor. On the album it is an E Minor.

Also try a capo on one. It sounds pretty cool espcially if its a solo instrumental like the video.
