It's no doubt expensive any way you look at it but keep in mind when you buy 5,000+ gallons of diesel you probably get a bulk price...also, Non taxed off road diesel is also 38-40 cents per gallon cheaper than stuff you would buy at a regular gas station.

Price at the pump may be 3.50 per gallon but non taxed, bulk price may be 1.00 (or more depending on contractual agreements) cheaper than pump price.
