Bobby Goldsboro is not only an excellent performer but also a terrific songwriter. His music is timeless. Growing up in the Chicagoland area in the 60's I remember how his music was played by the top 40 radio stations all of the time. I remember when I first heard the song "Summer The First Time" and thought that it too would be another big hit for Goldsboro. Oh, what memories the song brings back to me. Bobby Goldsboro is not only an excellent performer but also a terrific songwriter. His music is timeless. Growing up in the Chicagoland area in the 60's I remember how his music was played by the top 40 radio stations all of the time. I remember when I first heard the song "Summer The First Time" and thought that it too would be another big hit for Goldsboro. Oh, what memories the song brings back to me. The music arrangement, the lyrics and delivery make it the best. Thanks for the memories

I heard the tail end of this song today and it made me come straight in here and look it up. I am surprised that there is a video clip for it. I would have thought it was too early for videos back then. Still gives me chills when he sings about seeing the sun rise as a man.
