  • I love you guys. Just saying.

My dad played this song on road trips all the time and he has Sirius Radio now and whenever it comes on he just jammmmsssss. So glad I found this and can't way to show my dad.

  • dude, I dig this video, job well done!

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEO. Whenever I feel down, I'll play it. I grin everytime I see the guy in red trying so hard to show rhythm! LOL! Ahh, you make me laugh at myself. I was a teen who went to the park to let my freak flag fly the summer of love! My long beaded belt hung down to my super wide bell bottoms, with hand stitched protest messages! Zodiac medallion! Eco-Flag Shirt. Farm Trout Man! Right Arm! Psych - O - Delic man like Wow, Dig It! Y'all did good. Please do Almost Cut My Hair by CSN&Y.

  • Outstanding!!!! Their Flag Ship Tune!!!! They hit a Grand Slam with this one!!!! Most excellent Hippie Garb!!!! Groovy!!!! Peace, Love, Dove!!!! You must be from this era to be completely being in the groove for this Hippie blast!!!! The Love Bus!!!! Griffith Park, LA!!!! The Love In Scene!!!! Prior to drugs ruining it all....

  • this is fucking retarded.

really. wow. fucking, kill them all.

  • @Vaicurious If you don't like it, snort some more crack and get back to your Justin Beiber video.

  • @Vaicurious These were the days of excellent music: Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, CCR, Doors, Hendrix, etc. Now most of today's crap makes me want to vomit!

  • @Vaicurious

    Vaicurious has no videos available

  • These guys are so cute and impossibly sweet together.

  • At the time I was for the Vietnam war.my draft number was 52.Took my physical and was 1 month from going into the armored division. My luck turned when Nixon started bringing the troops home.i was re-classified to 3c(I think) on standby until I was 24.

I thought all the protesters were just agitaters and communists. Now i thank all the people who protested. What we found out later about our government and how we got into that fake war is the same thing that's going on now.Bring all our troops home

  • I like this song, but...

    HIPPIES!

  • Cute video

  • aw that's cute, millenials playing hippy dress up

  • This was an innocent time, Sexual identity wasnt even a concern nor was it discussed. The Hippie movement , long hair on men, beads, beards, fringe jackets, Flower Power. "If it feels good do it" "Make love, not War" It had nothing to do with Gay, Zero! And more to do with anti- establishment and rebellion.

  • good song.good lip-syncing.good video.if anyone try that with today's pop music,not so good.

  • Groovy Video Man!!

  • dude in red shirt has short hair. just sayin' :D

  • @drdotislovinlife Yea - he probably got drafted. Now - that was pretty messed up - taking 100's of 1000's of kids and forcing them by law to fight in the Vietnam War. Run them thru basic training, give them an M16, and ship them to the jungles to kill complete strangers - where is was not permitted by our Government to grow long hair.

    .

    I remember...

  • There is no good quality video of this song to be found. I thoroughly enjoyed this portrayal of the song and am using it for this weeks featured video on my channel. Thanks for posting.

  • I was actually a 70's teenager , but I remember this song well and I loved it. Fun video : P

  • I was in the 3rd grade when this song was a hit. OMG> I'm so PROUD of my BODILY HAIR!!!! YEAAAHHH!!!!

  • I had no idea the Cowsills sang this song.

  • I'll be singing this when I wash my hair!♥

  • May been stupid to then but they won a gold record for this was No1 hit in 1969....

  • @gaaraisallmineokay: goofy song? maybe so, but not half as goofy as come come ye saints

  • @gaaraisallmineokay - lol. It is stupid, but I loved it when it came out on the radio. "not for lack of bread" No one uses that term for money any more. "Here baby, there, momma, ev'rywhere, daddy, daddy."

  • @gaaraisallmineokay Look up the play by the same name. It'll make more sense then...

  • @gaaraisallmineokay

    You jelly?

  • OMG, I love this! Awesome!

  • That pretty cute

  • brilliant!

  • I want to see a 2011 re-make

  • LOL love it! Great video!

  • Why's he wearing a ladie's sweater? It makes him look effeminate. Is he trying to look gay?

  • @Nikes62 - No. He got too many midnight phone calls from Macho Men of America wanting him to enlist in the ranks.

For some unfathomable reason, this didn't appeal to him. So he camoflagued who he is to stop the inquiries.

  • great job ! love it!

  • Super cool video! Great job, guys!!

  • this song is the shit, hippie still livn strong in east los angeles!!! theres a lot of em, freak out

  • A shame we couldn't have woven this into the Facebook (Zuckenberg monster) movie, what a needed comic relief intrruption it would have been!

  • Hey Man- What's happenin? !!!

  • excellent job guys. the 60s are fascinating. thats about all I can say. very emotional and heroes. military and hippies. jl

  • I'm 62 years old, and HAIR is one of the "statements" we made back in the 1960s. Having long hair wasn't just a style, it was a form of expression against what was going on at the time: Racism, the Viet Nam Conflict, the White Bread Establishment that based it's life on pre-fab houses and polyester. I'm pleased to see in so many kids today that our message was heard. Nice video, accurate to the spirit. Well done.

  • @BurnsDillon - Thank you, Abe Simpson!

  • @BurnsDillon unfortunately it backfired and now look at the shit shape we are in. I enjoyed those years too but it went too extreme to the left and now we have far more taking out then putting in.

  • @2bdefacto Giving it further consideration, there has been a dark side to it. In our 1960s attempt to liberate ourselves from social, political and religious constraints, we bred an ultra-ultra-ultra liberal generation that has passed many aspects onto the current generation. That may be why we see such a lack of delayed gratification in certain kids, and in others a horrifying lack of judgment. Especially on bicycles. Have you noticed that? Or is it just me?

  • @BurnsDillon Amen!

  • we hate hippies,

    hippies make us sick!

    when ya see a hippie,

hit him wit a stick!---old marching song

  • lol

  • Loving it!

    Blessings,

    Arianrhod

  • old hippie.shaved it all ,balding.1 of the all time fun songs

  • Brilliant - thx!

  • I think you did a great job! Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for sharing it.

  • The blonde guy kind of looks like Layne Staley.

  • that was horrible!

  • That blonde guy is sooo fu**ing ANNOYING!!!

  • Cute. I remember when this came out on the radio. Oh, to be 16 again.

  • @schizzie345 lucky you

  • @dkdeu Yes, I was lucky in so many ways.

  • Bring back the 60s!!! NOW!

  • glees version is awesome

  • I hope y'all had as much fun making the video as I did watching it!! Great job!

  • Haha, Pass the joint, you stoners lol.

  • I cut my hair yesterday.....now today, I think it was a mistake!!! I MISS MY HAIR!!!!!

  • well done! thanks!

  • This video is cute!! I particularly like the spirit of love that is evidently surrounding all the characters... a spirit that was much present in the 60's... and they look like they are having a lot of fun... good job!!

  • Comment removed

  • Very cute video guys. :)

  • Don't try this at home folks. These folks are pro's.

  • horrible. there is another person who sang hair.it is much better, go check out tom pierson

  • wow such beautiful women brought me back to the 60s if you saw charls manson you seen me hahah i tend to let my self go

  • Funny..half of these kid's parents were not even born yet when this song came out.

  • Flower Power 4-ever!

  • This is a good video foreal.''The Cowsills''.

  • The revolution lives on! The stylistic revolution, I mean.

  • looks like senior ditch day at High School!

  • Grande ,excelente ojala todos los jovenes destinaran sus energias en realizar estas obras. De donde son ?

  • Nice job, I am from Rhode Island we are proud of The Cowsills. They set the way for the Partridge family

  • I really liked ya'll's interpretation of this. This has stuck with me since I first heard it in 68 or 69. Thanks for this bit o' fun!

  • This just pulled me out of a crappy mood. Thanks!

  • Videography is good. Synchronization is good. Costume design is a little rough, but does capture the essence of the 60's. All in all, I think these people did a great job producing this piece. And, I might add, the fact that they chose a setting that appears much like Woodstock...Great choice.

  • @raoleso

3 or 4 dubbies and they could have pulled this perfect

  • @raoleso - They're also dead-ringers for students at Bard College in the 1970s.

  • Great video!

  • It's been a really long time since I last heard this song but that one line "Hair, Long beautiful hair!" has stuck with me....

  • He looks like the lead singer from the 90s group the Spin Doctors

  • @phallystorm Exactly.....looks like chris barron from spin doctors, if he quit the band and became an amish farmer named obadiah

  • My hair is long <3

  • @Pizzaman45157 Mine ,too. Long hair, ROCKS !!!!!

  • LUL.

  • i like that dance move at 1:08 1:10

  • @cgkeddington yah right? LOL

  • cute

  • When I was in junior high, I played this 45 with the MGM label about a half a million times I think.

  • Geez Deadgannon take a pill! The Cowsills came from Newport R.I.

  • or a suppository.

  • @Ruffyalso Their Dad was in the airforce at WPAFB

  • damn that's why i had long hair!

to be honest,a man who hasn't got long hair for at least once in his life is not a man!

    Rebel inside.

  • When did having long hair make you a man? Its just stupid statements like that, that i hate, its like ppl saying Your not a man til you fired a gun, or killed a animal... or until you got some pussy.... Nothing like that makes anyone a man. I think the only true way of being a man is being respectable, mature, and taking responsibility for your own actions. I see alot of "men" who dont have any of these qualities nor will they ever, so they will never fully become a man, just a boy trapped.

  • calm down...are you whack?

  • Did the Cowsills come from Dayton?

  • groovy!

  • Cool Video, Nice Memories!!

  • I haven't listened to this song in a while. Forgotten how good it was. Nice vid too.

  • This song was one of the greatest from the 1960's I think this was a tune that made me grow my hair out as I was a youngster, only to have my dad to cut it off when it got too long what a bummer!

    Maldo

  • Good to see that I'm not the only one who wants the spirit of the Hippie-Sixties to still live on!

  • Hey long live Hippy generation!

  • I'm stuck in the sixties, but I wasn't even born until 1994! I think that this is the song that me grow my hair right down to my hips

  • Ehehe from italy good, and from the new generations!!!!!

  • I like this! Thanks for posting it!

  • are they for all serious?

  • Great job, yea my hairs too short

  • XAXAXAXAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • You kids are jammin'! Good job! Rock on.

  • if you can see my eyes , then its to short lol

  • Close, not exactly the way I remember but good job

  • Awsome, dude! Long live hair!

  • WOW! UR hits have grown in the past 5 months.

  • Awesome Job. Next time make sure the Vehicle interior shots are in keeping with period if you can. You guys should be proud! 2 Thumbs up!

  • My hair's too short

  • did any 80's Hair Metal band ever cover this song? They should have!

  • awesome job!!!! A++++++++++

  • i REMEMBER THIS SONG WHEN I WAS 12 AND I MET SUSAN COWSILL WHEN SHE CAME TO MY SCHOOL IN LINCOLN JR. HIGH IN SANTA MONICA! SHE WAS ONLY IN MY CLASS FOR 2 WEEKS!

  • Hey, I was born in 1967 and this stuff was fresh and unprecedented. Lots of musical experimentation among other herbal experiencies, but that's another story. These were the times that you had to have lived throught it to fully feel the experience. If you were not there, you totally missed the vibes of the times.

  • gbs1x is of course speaking anecdotally. he thinks because HE went bald, everyone else will. talk about self righteous. Hey bud. Not everyone goes bald by the age of 50

  • Cowsills started out quite "straight" as father was hard. As time went and father left they got into drugs the oldest (one singing) died young from drug & alcohol over years One died in hurricane Katrina.

  • I don't know if you kids are real "retro hippies" or just dressed the part for the video but an excellent, excellent job! Made me homesick for the 60s.

  • I loved this song when I was young and my hair was down to there....now I'm in my 50s and bald! Enjoy it while you can kids.

  • I'm not alone...

  • Havent heard this for decades..since my hair was long. Now its just gray. Enjoyed the vid. thanks

  • An amateur spoof with people who knew what they're doing.

    I am shocked.

    Excellent!

Today, the only "hair" is that rat's nest on top of Trump's head. Pity.

  • Fun vid, and great sound!

  • GREAT video ! Fits the theme and feel of the song perfectly !!!

  • I jammed to this song when I was younger, and man did I flaunt my long hair back in the 60's and 70's.Now check it out in vids.Gone with the wind

  • Susan was so young here. She just turned 50. Bummer

  • the stereo effect is awesome!!!

    Well done!! 5*+

  • I loved it ,,.HAIR ROCKS!!

  • Fucking awesome!

  • e sti casi umani?

  • pssst jay...noone wore platform shoes in the 60's...you might be referring to the 70s...plus we never used the word "dude" back then

  • right; we said "man"

  • Good video...but, dude, why are you wearing a girl's sweater? You should have a long fringed jacket and bell bottoms with platform shoes..that's what we did back then...

  • Sure you heard this story, but when they decided to do the TV show they were going to call it Cowsills. They thought the mother wasnt young and telegenic enuff so the kids said NO. Thats when they made up the copy cat band. The Patridges did ok though.

  • LOVE IT! :D

  • Damn.....surprised how good this tune sounds 40 years on. Thanks mate.

  • A timeless classic

  • all tyme fave jam cant even pigeonhole into bubblegum thanks!! good stereo separation i never heard on the hair hair hair hair hair hair hair refrain

  • Yeah, I believe..............in Flower Power!

  • @jnartist I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!!!

  • that blond dude is hot

  • It made a great A.M. radio song but all the head into F.M. harder rock got a chuckle, the ones I hung with at least did. It made a statement for sure.

  • Very Good Video...Thanx..... Gregory

  • When they recorded this they actually did'nt include a line from the broadway song. The part from the song that goes" I want hair like Jesus wore it alleluah I adore it Alleluah Mary loved her son,why don't my mother love me" They did'nt want to affend their mother who they loved. Sappy.

  • There's a live version from the last couple of years here on YouTube where they include that part.

  • The Partridge Family were Poseurs...

    The Cowsills were for real

  • Not sure you're using "Poseurs" correctly--Guns and Roses are Poseurs, for example (except Slash, who's actually pretty talented). The Partridges were just a made up marketing tool for awesome studio musicians, plus David Cassidy.

  • My uncle loves the Cowsills

  • The Cowsill's were the real-life band the TV show - Partridge Family was based on...

  • Whatsa matter for you? You don'ta lika spaghetti? Spaghetti is a good. Your momma did not feed you a good a food?

  • this goes to Brutuse: Kinda strange for Luigi. He has an italian user name, but he doesn't like spaghetti. That's like a German disliking warmer beer.

  • You guys should do Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. That's one of my favorite music videos ever.

  • that would be pretty cool.... :)

  • Peace brothers, sisters ;)

  • 60s LIP SYNC!

    BUT, a great song!!!

  • omg i fing love this song

  • omg omg omg omg omg lol i love this song

  • You guys need to do Lazy Day by Spanky and Our Gang next. I think you guys could do it justice!

  • hippies ;)

  • esa cancion manda !

  • Such a great composition and an incredible arrangement (especially vocally). One of these days I may do a remake of this tune. Thanx for posting.

  • Of course it's not The Cowsills, read the information section, music by the Cowsills, video starring a bunch of people
