My dad played this song on road trips all the time and he has Sirius Radio now and whenever it comes on he just jammmmsssss. So glad I found this and can't way to show my dad.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEO. Whenever I feel down, I'll play it. I grin everytime I see the guy in red trying so hard to show rhythm! LOL! Ahh, you make me laugh at myself. I was a teen who went to the park to let my freak flag fly the summer of love! My long beaded belt hung down to my super wide bell bottoms, with hand stitched protest messages! Zodiac medallion! Eco-Flag Shirt. Farm Trout Man! Right Arm! Psych - O - Delic man like Wow, Dig It! Y'all did good. Please do Almost Cut My Hair by CSN&Y.
Outstanding!!!! Their Flag Ship Tune!!!! They hit a Grand Slam with this one!!!! Most excellent Hippie Garb!!!! Groovy!!!! Peace, Love, Dove!!!! You must be from this era to be completely being in the groove for this Hippie blast!!!! The Love Bus!!!! Griffith Park, LA!!!! The Love In Scene!!!! Prior to drugs ruining it all....
@Vaicurious These were the days of excellent music: Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, CCR, Doors, Hendrix, etc. Now most of today's crap makes me want to vomit!
At the time I was for the Vietnam war.my draft number was 52.Took my physical and was 1 month from going into the armored division. My luck turned when Nixon started bringing the troops home.i was re-classified to 3c(I think) on standby until I was 24.
I thought all the protesters were just agitaters and communists. Now i thank all the people who protested. What we found out later about our government and how we got into that fake war is the same thing that's going on now.Bring all our troops home
This was an innocent time, Sexual identity wasnt even a concern nor was it discussed. The Hippie movement , long hair on men, beads, beards, fringe jackets, Flower Power. "If it feels good do it" "Make love, not War" It had nothing to do with Gay, Zero! And more to do with anti- establishment and rebellion.
@drdotislovinlife Yea - he probably got drafted. Now - that was pretty messed up - taking 100's of 1000's of kids and forcing them by law to fight in the Vietnam War. Run them thru basic training, give them an M16, and ship them to the jungles to kill complete strangers - where is was not permitted by our Government to grow long hair.
There is no good quality video of this song to be found. I thoroughly enjoyed this portrayal of the song and am using it for this weeks featured video on my channel. Thanks for posting.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
@gaaraisallmineokay - lol. It is stupid, but I loved it when it came out on the radio. "not for lack of bread" No one uses that term for money any more. "Here baby, there, momma, ev'rywhere, daddy, daddy."
I'm 62 years old, and HAIR is one of the "statements" we made back in the 1960s. Having long hair wasn't just a style, it was a form of expression against what was going on at the time: Racism, the Viet Nam Conflict, the White Bread Establishment that based it's life on pre-fab houses and polyester. I'm pleased to see in so many kids today that our message was heard. Nice video, accurate to the spirit. Well done.
@BurnsDillon unfortunately it backfired and now look at the shit shape we are in. I enjoyed those years too but it went too extreme to the left and now we have far more taking out then putting in.
@2bdefacto Giving it further consideration, there has been a dark side to it. In our 1960s attempt to liberate ourselves from social, political and religious constraints, we bred an ultra-ultra-ultra liberal generation that has passed many aspects onto the current generation. That may be why we see such a lack of delayed gratification in certain kids, and in others a horrifying lack of judgment. Especially on bicycles. Have you noticed that? Or is it just me?
This video is cute!! I particularly like the spirit of love that is evidently surrounding all the characters... a spirit that was much present in the 60's... and they look like they are having a lot of fun... good job!!
Videography is good. Synchronization is good. Costume design is a little rough, but does capture the essence of the 60's. All in all, I think these people did a great job producing this piece. And, I might add, the fact that they chose a setting that appears much like Woodstock...Great choice.
When did having long hair make you a man? Its just stupid statements like that, that i hate, its like ppl saying Your not a man til you fired a gun, or killed a animal... or until you got some pussy.... Nothing like that makes anyone a man. I think the only true way of being a man is being respectable, mature, and taking responsibility for your own actions. I see alot of "men" who dont have any of these qualities nor will they ever, so they will never fully become a man, just a boy trapped.
This song was one of the greatest from the 1960's I think this was a tune that made me grow my hair out as I was a youngster, only to have my dad to cut it off when it got too long what a bummer!
i REMEMBER THIS SONG WHEN I WAS 12 AND I MET SUSAN COWSILL WHEN SHE CAME TO MY SCHOOL IN LINCOLN JR. HIGH IN SANTA MONICA! SHE WAS ONLY IN MY CLASS FOR 2 WEEKS!

You guys should do Safety Dance by Men Without Hats. That's one of my favorite music videos ever.

Such a great composition and an incredible arrangement (especially vocally). One of these days I may do a remake of this tune. Thanx for posting.
