Actually, I had given the name of Tobias Eiwanger on the other video but it seems nobody noticed. By the way, these two videos are really great. Very few professional choirs in the world could sing at that level.
The duet Iconomou/Eiwanger has now been been posted again. It is Bach cantata BWV163.
Tobias Eiwanger sang wonderful solos in some of the Bach Cantatas BWV 159-165 in years 1985-86. For example we had him here on YTube in a marvellous duet with Panito Iconomou in BWV 163 "Nimm mich mir und gib mich dir!"
It´s been taken away by its producer ("blago030"), who though has promised me it will be back, enlarged and (even) better illustrated.
@52sport6469 Do you know whether Tobias Eiwanger is still sing? I really like his performance --- full of passion and emotion! These boys are so talented! It is really joy to watch them. They are the best Bach interpreters.
@qzmack1 - Ackording to a message answer here on YT fromTobias he is not singing regularly, in a choir or so, only "now and then for the fun, or in family"
@52sport6469 I am glad that I asked the right person! Thank you for your infomation even though it is kind of pity that such a talented boy didn't continue singing. However I do hope all these boys enjoy the careers that they choose for their lives! Thank you again!
I can only strictly recommend for any Bach lover to buy this DVD. The Tölz boys was in 1985 at the climax of its musical skill and with Nikolaus Harnoncourt in a symbiothic relation which I can only compare as biologist with that between flowering plants and pollen searching insects.
At 0:25 - but you have to look quickly! - is the "Knabe" Barbara Schmidt-Gaden. At 0:45 appear Panito Iconomou and Christian Immler, the two to the right. At 1:01 one can see a famous face: Helmut Wittek -boy on the left. Can others be spotted? A wonderful excerpt! Thanks.
@BERTIO5 - The very blond longhaired boy left of Wittek is Christoph Wegmann, who in this Joh.-Passion with a great voice does "the world´s shortest solo" in the video "Ich folge dir gleichfalls (part 3)" at 5:01-06! - Also above at 1:12 up to the right I recognize Michael Kilian, nearly as good an alto as Iconomou and Immler and together with them did all the alto parts in Parrotts´s London 1984 Bach B-Minor Mass - 3 German 13 y. olds selected to match Parrot´s grown-up world star singers!
Grandioso
