Eh hks ssqv, greedy type s... beh sounded so cool when I first bought my evo... then it gets annoying. from the way that BOV sounds (loud) its vented and not recirculated. Personally I'm staying with my stock 9 BOV. It's good up till 30 psi. recirculate that crap or ur just losing boost >.>

@454sskilla if your charge pipe is aluminum , the blow off valve flange just has to be welded onto it, if not you'll have to get an aluminum adapter to fit it, either way its easy

well bov doesnt ONLY make ur turbo last longer, cus if u dont use bov to let the pressure out then it goesback out the turbo, making it spin backwards, it goes back out because the throtle body closes when u lift throttle. bov actually allow ur turbo to react quicker for the next gear if ur racing, cus the boost come rite back, but if u got compressor surged (ur turbo spins backwards) then u watse around a second to get it to spin in the right direction again

there are turbines driven by belts too... turbine is just the high speed, impeller style which all turbos are. Theres a few different styles of belt driven compressors (including turbine). And i say compressor because they all compress air. So compressor can be right for either. Where as supercharger, blower etc. both refer to belt driven compressors.

well you need a wastegate to relieve pressure off the exhaust side of the turbo, and most turbos have them built in, but some require an external one, but turbos require them to function correctly, more so than a BOV. They dont serve the same purpose. and to silence a bov jsut recirculate it back into the system. no noise, and you dont have to build the manifold pressure back up after letting off the throttle.
