@xtreme good choices although the cure did most of their best work in the 80's / early 90's i don't think you could really consider it modern day now but they're a brilliant band none the less. havent heard much from the bansee's except a few songs they did in the 70's they sound good though... oh 3 more bands i can think of to add to the list, zeromancer, marilyn manson and the spooky kids, nine inch nails (maybe not goth but industrial)

Those earrings are just cheesy. I would have gotten a jeweler to custom make mine in any skull design I wanted, any finish of metal, any kind of metal they make jewelry with, with gemstones maybe, etc. The skull earrings just looked so crappy.

There is a huge debate if the metal sub genre "Goth Metal" is part of a the goth music scene. There are a lot of agruments saying goth cant be metal but at same time others call type o negative a metal band part of the goth scene and are label goth metal/doom metal. I think that goth can be both the orginal sounds like bauhaus and s.and the banshees while it can have a heavy side as well...It really depends on who you ask in the goth music scene. any questions on goth music and scene comment me!

When I say Gothic Metal I'm referring to bands such as old Theater of Tragedy (not the fucking new industrial shit), old Tristania (with Vibeke Stene), The Sins of Thy Beloved, Nightwish (although some people might disagree, you can NOT deny the strong gothic influence on both the music and the lyrics). Sirenia, etc

I agree with Demelza, Ive been Goth for what going 5 years now and ive noticed that we always see life as sometimes funny, yet, I remember some guy calling me a poseur for listening to metal. I know a lot of Goths who listen to metal. David Cummings though is good and so is his sidekick. But the flat guy, gee thats the grim reaper minus the alcohol. While we are on the topic of Goths, one thing I wana say.

If this had been produced for US tv it would not have been nearly as good. The Brits always seem to get things more authentic. I go to Dracula's Ball in Philly all the time and the clothes, hair, makeup, etc are spot on. I also think that they aren't making fun of goths so much as affectionately sending them up, rather like Voltaire does. We all know the culture can be pretentious but those of us who are goths can laugh at ourselves and see the funny side.
