@Jesse8Allen Death note was a perfectly respectable manga series, it was certainly one of the most intelligent i've ever read, and it certainly changed the way I think.

However, Code Geass was, i felt, more polished and though it represented the same struggle, despite going with the whole 'protaganist dies to save humanity', it gave me real lessons into life.

Both are amazing, however, and disliking either/both shows you didn't have enough intelligence/didn't bother to read into the meanings.

@supersilverstrike I'm not sure DN & CG represent the same struggle, Lelouch makes it pretty clear that he doesn't want to be a god or pass judgement on people his conflicts with Diethard show as much while Light gets pretty caught up in his own mythology and 'worshipers'

& for my money Lelouch planned to die at the end from day one I mean he put a gun to his head when CC confronted him and he was pretty fond of saying 'only those prepared to die should kill'

Your right however, by halfway into the series' you can see the direction they are heading and they are completely different.

Death note in my eyes was a more human representation of the concept, as one can imagine how easy it would be to slip into Lights state of mind faced with his death note.

That said, theyre both amazing.

The biggest note I can make of it is Lelouch's voice, it fits him but at the same time it doesn't. I was curious to what the Japanese voice was for Lelouch, but I preferred the english b-cuz I knew the voice from previous anime but didn't seem to be as unique.

@BreathInSpaceFilmz i watched around 5 episodes in dub and i just don't like it as much as the sub, i find the synced lip movements with the original voices makes a better feel, i don't mind reading at all, in fact i prefer it because if i miss something i can just look back instead of rewinding it. Either way its still the same show and i love it :3

@lleworc FMAB does make things very clear, but I think that takes away some from the story some, where Code Geass had hints of everything everywhere, go back and watch it a few times and you will see how much foreshadowing there is in the story. Even Nina's F.L.E.J.I.A. was foreshadowed in one of the first episodes of season one.

@OdysseusAres5500 Well, if you really think about it, Light's situation was in this world, thus giving him an advantage in his influence on people, he had no technological advantage whatsoever, while lelouch has giant freakin' fighting robots at his control, code geass is pure war strategy, while light is pure psychological strategy, though code geass's ending was much sadder then death note 'cause (MAJOR SPOILER) ........ lelouch was not evil at all.
