It has been over 3 months so this may be irrelevant now, but I will answer your question anway. Phase control represents how the signal will be modified, so lets use 180 degress out of phase for example as that is easy to explain. Instead of the sub pushing out then in for example, it will pull in then out. The complete opposite, the other phase presets modify it by however much the number is. If you have further questions, feel free to ask =)
