Open up 3 pages of youtube and have on page doing the lead guitar one doing the bass and one doing the drums and try to line them all up so that they play together. Its a pretty fun way to waste time!
The scary thing is that he used hot rodded 150 watt Fender Twins exclusively. Can you imagine how insanely loud it was in order to get those amps to overdrive like this? Yikes.
It's definitely got the two Jimi/Jimmy's tone and touch running through it. But with Reni's Swing behind it it becomes its own beast. On the best Roses songs Reni was as equally important as Bonzo was to Led Zeppelin.
@FretLegendSmithy considering the STYLE he's playing in, I dare to say he's excelling. Maybe the songcraft has its flaws, but despite the coke, in the axe department, he's on fire in this album, and clearly wants to make the statement. And is hardly comparable to the first, since they have so different musical directions. Stylistically, he's doing opposite things. Kind of shoegazing/jangling in the first, totally blues/rock in the second. Psychedelia would be the common denominator in my opinion
Switching back and forth between the guitar parts is a bit jarring. I think it would have been better to just stick with the one, or leave all guitar tracks playing. I guess doing it their way was better for the video game somehow...
Well in the game you do hear both. But the audio you hear was directly ripped from the guitar chart of the game rather than the full audio (hence how we're hearing only the guitar) and as such we're hearing whatever part was charted rather than both.
@cavernouscave Although this is not one session in the recording and it is simply all the guitarparts of Squire in the song, I am a 100% sure that the difference in all the guitar parts is due to use of effects and pedals, if you argue with that you re a dummy man!
What guitar he uses for this? What kind of pickups and what distortion gear?

in my opinion squire, page n hendrix are top 3 guitarists ever. some of the solos on good times, breaking into heaven and tears are simply incredible!

@FretLegendSmithy He is, among those of us who are enlightened.

@JonathanBones haha of course. but he should be up there with hendrix and page. but he's a hell of a lot coller than the both of them, i think.

@FretLegendSmith I agree. Because as well as being an excellent guitarist, he's written better songs.
