  • @XLilgrady14 you need to right click in redrum and select 'copy pattern to track'. so this for each patterns 1-8 (if you used them) then turn off the 'enable playback' button. they should now e in your track, and you can edit the pattern using midi rather than in redrum itself

  • Thanks boss. Handy tip.

  • Hey, have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation? Its perfect for running all your favorite Windows compatible software and plug-ins! Click the link below for videos!

  • i made this setup but the redrum is not on the sequencer just the combinator, so i cant edit a beat

im new so there you go

  • @deanmetalface right click in redrum, select 'copy pattern' to track. it should now be in the sequencer. turn off 'enable pattern section' dso the sound doesn't double up (or just erase erase the patterns you made)

  • ive just made this setup and got it all working, but im completely new to this so bear with me, on the sequencer i wanted to map out the drums on redum but cause i combined everything there was only my combinator on the sequencer in the left tab, i am new so be kind! haha

  • @deanmetalface rightclick in redrum and select 'copy pattern to track', then turn off the 'enable pattern section' to prevent the sound doubling up. this will place the pattern in the sequencer on a new note lane designated for redrum, which you should see in the left tab

  • Im gonna try this im having some trouble getting drums with life in reason when im mixing think this is gonna help alot. I find the most sounds for redrum are abit dry compared to other music programs i have tried.

  • Nice video,

Do you have advices for me how to put my video´s on youtube without losing quality? When i put my video with the reason file on youtube, i loose quality in the drums. They sound a little softer then the drums on my hard disc. I use megui with nero aac 256 kbs settings, 48.000 hz. do you have settings for me so that i don't loose quality on youtube in my music?

  • Thanks for the tip homie!

  • Nice tutorial. Thank You :)

  • good info for a beginner producer like me. I would have to watch this vid a couple more times. I kind of get what you were explaining. Thanks.

  • @Jaelaw885 one for the drums an the other one for everythin else ive been doin the same thing for a year

  • Thanks for this, but when I try n put two Redrum patterns together one gets distorted how do I stop this.

  • this is helpfull is there a way of doing this and adding parametric eqs for each drum sound as well

    ???

  • great job!

  • All drums go to one mixer... everything else to the other

  • now, is there a way after doing all this, to save it some how, so that every time you open reason, its all prepared so u dont have to deal with all this shit again?

  • yea there is, if you put EVERYTHING into a combinator then you can savet eh new combinator patch, and save the song file as well, its what i always do, msg me if u dnt get it.

  • @crookedfingaz save the combinator patch

  • you gotta rtfm. haha no really you gotta use the "rebirth input machine." right click on the mixer and go create...it's all the way at the bottom.

  • tks rockhills - i've installed Rebirth to the point of having a desktop icon, but when i launch it's asking for a CD - help!!?

  • if i recall, you have to make an image cd or else it nags for that damn cd. small price to pay for the free program. it is the reason i don't bother with rebirth. don't tell em but you're better off getting a cridacked version.

  • Anyone with any advice? When I do NYCHooligan's combinator trick with the mixer and redrum, I have a single combinator track in the sequencer, but I can't lay down any of my redrum patterns.

  • You can man, you just need to find them in the piano roll, start at C1 :)

  • Sweet! Works a treat. Thanks much!! :)

  • You just taught me something that's more important than wanking...!!!

  • funniest comment ever.

  • thats so beautiful i didnt realize that you can do that ...so cool.....THANKS!!!! that shit is great...you just need to be runnin a lil monster cuzz its a lot more easy to forget your runnin mad shit at once and your computer reminds you .lol... especially for me cuzz i send my redrum tracks to there own 2 band eq then to their own mixer tracks so much clutter

  • ps alltogethere there rare 6 pads and 2 foot pedals

  • you really no your stuff can you help me i have an ied05 usb drum kit and i had ir riged up to redrum the thing is 2 of my pads wont work with it i wondor if you no why can you help i dont no if i need to add ports or something in reason or what

  • thts the best advise for redrum ive seen so far...k .i. u peace

  • Tip -

hold down the shift key when creating new instrumnets and reason will not route any cabels. :)

  • That's diirrttyy. how the fuck does someone come up with this?? Genius.

  • look in the book "introducing reason 4" from Sybex

  • nice tutorial

  • can someone tell me how to record my loop into a sequencer

  • thats one of the coolest things about reason, it's almost completely customizable, and there's lot's of different ways to do the the same thing

  • thx

  • U can simply start a new project, create main mixer and attach combinator and than in combinator create mixer, redrum and effects attach on the mixer...much faster and easier...

  • Very nice man...but I think there's much more simpler way to do this, but it's good like this anyway...good work and thank's for sharing

  • o i got it

  • i dont get it what i do wrogh

  • excellent, all the best ...brian atherton....

  • you're a good teacher

  • awesome dude !

  • If i wanted to assign an EQ or affect to each drum sound, without putting it through my mixers Aux, how could I do that? would I use the spider merger???

  • 2 mixers - Use the four aux of first mixer for first four drums on redrum, the same for the rest on other mixer.

  • if you hold down the shiftkey while creating a new device, you will get it unplugged..

  • I'm gonna try this out! Thanks!

  • and what about ekvalization?

    noob's movie

  • Thanks men i made some nice beats :D:D !!

  • excellent, thats exactly what i was looking for. thanks for the help!

  • Good setup on video, but get to the point faster on how to do something with all that (like make a beat) for people who might not know. And maybe show what the advantages are to using that set up is like in realtime.!! Cool stuff
