@generalstickman Well for one, the aristocratic class in those days was facing fear and neglect from the working class, which of coarse lead to suspicion, and results in the rich class arming them selves with concealed small caliber pistols like these, they were afraid being robbed in broad daylight (I would be to in that sort of situation) so they acquired these small guns for protection, of coarse Austria isn't the only country that had these, Russian and even American rich citizens had these.
