wow i look at all the current artist trying to make all of us like their music by dressing up and screaming into a microphone... but when i look at all the music from back then it wasn't about getting public appeal it was about emotion appeal. people tried their best to stir our emotions and believe me they did and they still do. the artists back then really made the best music... i just wish that the people from this age would realize this and start making good music.

Duran Duran were so creative and almost neo-classsical in their lyrics, it was almost a religious lift that i got from their music- got me over the hump- until my real life started. I still love this music like i did 25-28 year ago.

I see it as escapism and escaping the gloomy scottish weather, the poor economic backdrop of central scotland and transported to an imagery laden landscape that Duran Duran created. I think that is why they contrasted the serious political and fashionalbe 80s bands of their time. Yeah that is true. Its the creative product that made Duran Duran unique - the used Hollywood - High Concept ideas as was used in TV shows like Miami Vice in order to promote themseves. That was a new process at the time plus making the music industry more interesting with new videos. Its safe to say that Duran Duran set the bar on music and video integration during the early 1980s. if you watch most videos of that era they are cheaply made. Duran Duran used Hollywood filmmakers to make theirs.
