Mr Douglas - can you explain a bit more the concept of fractional reserve as it pertains to gold? I understand that the futures market has little to do with the metal, it's a bet that nearly always closes before delivery, but it's always been that way. I read that the world total gold is about 5 billion oz, and some fraction of that is non-jewelry, non-industrial. Are there people believing they own 10's of billions of ounces of physical gold in aggregate?
