my cmd cant trace it dont know the command?

It is because of the router, not your machine.
And it actually passed through all 20, not 19, lol

Every time I try this, The traced IP's are shown almost like a passord
(like this: 1. * * * Request timed out)
any ideas on how to fix this? im running vista, not xp so that might be the problem

the last one is the server you are connecting to, thats right but the route taken is through routers (like the name itself describes)

the first one is a router and the other are NOT servers! these are routers!

the only thing i can suggest is to contact your isp as your isp might have a faulty connection somewhere sorry if this doesnt help

tracert is widely firewalled because it causes overloading in the network

@giorgos11235 um ... no? ping is, however traceroute will always get to the final destination if there is a route available.

@TEAMoGLITCH could be your router or modem. Usually the first hop is your router or modem, which means either a cable is bad or not fully plugged in, a router or modem is bad, or possibly that your NIC (network interface card) is bad.
