great videos...had another question, towards the end of the video...you're mentioning the deprime, etc...I see in stage one when you pull down on lever and the case goes up it deprimes...when does the actual new primer go in...I think you mentioned pushing forwarding at stage #2 before you powder it...so wasnt sure when exactly the new primer gets inserted
@salutationthe3rd Correct. After you deprime and you return the shell plate down, go ahead and press forward on the press handle to prime the shell you just deprimed. Great question.
@salutationthe3rd No problem at all. This is a great press. I can say that with 100% honesty. It isn't because it is a dillon and that it is blue, it is because it is a great press that really works. I have bought 3. One for each caliber handgun. I also sold the one for 9mm because I do not own that one. I was fortunate enough to get these at great deals on different forums. Ebay also has some good deals everyonce in a while as well..
at 4:08 when you remove the 45 tool head, you remove the powder expanding die as well from it...but when you get done replacing the 40 conversion and put back on the powder measure it doesn't seem that you put the expanding die back in...I'm new to reloading and considering this machine, but just want to clarify that you do not need the expanding die
@salutationthe3rd The expanding die was inside the toolhead at 5:54 mark. The tool head was then placed over the other dies. Without the expanding die, the powder measure will not drop the powder. You have to have the expanding die and it comes with the caliber specific press when you order. Thanks for watching. Anymore questions's, ask away....
Outstanding videos!! I have a SDB on the way an now I won't have to spend the first few hours cursing trying to figure it out.
