kelly's voice completes the perfect song, it doesnt have to be about a boy/girl that you are in love with, it can be anybody you care about. This suits Kelly perfectly, simply because all her songs have such meaning and depth to them, they can be about anything, but she means it with her whole heart, and even if her voice wasnt as amazing and beautiful as it is it would still be the best version because of how much she means it

A superb version of a heartbreakingly beautiful song. Does it really matter if Kelly's or Adele's version is better though? They are both fantastic, although I happen to like Kelly's better. But it won't stop it from being beautiful whoever is singing it.

I do love this version. Kelly's sings this with a lot of emotion and she was much younger at the time she recorded this. I did listen to Trisha (love her) and Adele's performances but still think that Kelly's is best. Hard decision!! LOVE THE SONG!!

@big80 The better technical singer would have to be Kelly Clarkson, with that said however, It's two different styles. One is Indie-ish, and then there is this one that's traditional. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Personally, I like both versions, and realize that both artists are accomplished, and have amazing voices.

people often "tweak" a song when they cover it. we don't always agree with it, but it happens quite a bit with covers...that's why they're covers. and I think sometimes covers are better than originals...that's why they are called opinions...we all have a right to our own. This song has spoken to me in such volume. It's chillingly beautiful, and Kelly's voice suits the style she's gone for on this song. I really like this song, and I'd put it on a par with Billy Joel's version which is my absolute favourite. I don't know about all this Adele fuss though, I think she butchered the song personally. ;)
