  • great song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Funny i stumbled across this one, i'm going to Marakesh this week :)

hope the air is as full of excitement as this piece

  • SHE IS MAGNIFICENT!!!!

  • So magical I love the music, words goes deep within my soul. I talk through my music,Thank You.Beautiful.

  • Angelic Music...!!!!

  • kiss!

  • Does anyone have any idea of the meaning (message) of the lyrics? This is an extraordinarily beautiful song, sung perfectly by Loreena - then, again, her voice and delivery are pure perfection!

  • I think its a description of (just as the title says) an night market in anatolia. But Loreena si not jsut describing jthe place she goes further onward to desrcibe the amgic that charcterized such a place in such an era. A magic that is lost nowdays.

  • @DragonofShu i know exactly what you mean... much is lost in the modern centuries

  • the song of my life, for ever

  • long live

  • I have tried but I just cannot find anyone who even comes close to Loreena, just superb.

  • Amazing music and lyrics! We love you Loreena :)

  • cretans + celtics... brothers!

  • I wish I could dance to it, I enjoy almost all she sings

  • sugar for the soul!!

  • simply a masterpiece

  • This is her best song... I'm actually turned on right now.

  • @phr3akky Turkish people did not stole any culture. Iraq did not too... We just shered our lifes and cultures. We came anatolia really long time ago. We always lived in peace. You have to learn history I think because you just know what you want to know to blame middle east people. And I can tell you that we are really happy without any other countries help.

  • @PrisonerLetter it is what I have been telling people. The middle east is better off left alone. All this interference is just annoying the people there, though I have a friend that obstinately believes we are doing good :p I don't understand her to be honest.

  • @priestofavalon ofc we are better off left alone. they are forget that we are humans too as much as them. we can talk and understand eachother but some people come here for "help" but always make everything worse. they don'T know who we are. they don'T know what are we feeling. they don'T know what are we talking about. they just want to be more powerful but they don't know that they are just like a sickness. Making everything worse..

  • I enjoy the music because it is beautiful, magical, and takes me away from the mundane. The politics or origins of who did what when or where matters not....

We are all one no matter the flag, continent or planet....

  • AWESOME !

  • I'm half Moroccan, every time i go to visit my family there we always end up visiting the beautiful Marrakech. It's magical, one of the most beautiful and unique places i've ever seen. If you've never visited, you definitely should.

  • This song is amazing and magical...!!! One of my favourites!!!

  • ethereal xxxx

  • ME ENCANTA SU MUSICA Y SU VOZ ES MARAVILLOSA!!!!!!!! OJALA LA TRAJERAN AL FESTIVAL DE VIÑA,ELLA ES UNA ARTISTA EN TODO SENTIDO!!!!

  • Would you like my mask?

    would you like my mirror?

cries the man in the shadowing hood

    You can look at yourself

you can look at each other

or you can look at the face, the face of your god

    <3<3<3

  • its funny, she makes her songs out of the inspirations gathered from her travels. Hey Lorenna, enjoy your trip! Bring back lots of songs!

  • Of course her music isn't all traditional Celtic...she's done a lot of world traveling, in particular to the Middle East and incorporates that into her music. She doesn't "claim" to be Celtic, unless the album states so, like her 2010 album "The Wind That Shakes the Barley," which is getting back to her roots. Whatever she is, though, she's damn good.

ALTHOUGH YOU LIVE IN GREECE,YOU FEEL LIKE TRAVELLING AT MARRAKESH IN THESE 6:31''...

  • she is from canada and her music is not traditional celtic.

  • @charlesgabel She is of Irish and Scottish decent though, and I doubt that there is much really authentic Celtic music out there anyway.

  • @RealisticShelf Shes from Canada.

  • @charlesgabel

Yes it is....where did you get that nonsense? shes Scottish/Irish blood and produces Celtic music because of it, its broader both Insular and continental indo-european Celtic music, your clearly unaware that this type of music belongs to Celts.....your probably thinking its Turkish or something forgeting Celts owned Galatia (Anitolia) and Turkey was Gaul Continental Celtic and Ancient Greek land, their culture.

Just like Iran stole Persian culture, learn2history.

  • @phr34kyy

Guessing your unaware that Canada ethnically and culturaly is Scottish/Irish/Welsh/English/French/Indian.

And that their are accordingly prodominantly Scottish/Celtic Royal Regiments in Canada's military as well as the province of Nova Scotia (New Scotland) and the prodominantly Irish NewfoundLand provinces, as well as the fact that the confederate forefathers spoke Gaelic along with the nations first Prime Minister etc etc.

Oh well third world is ethnicaly cleansing the west anyhow

  • @phr34kyy

Enjoy this music and culture while it lasts.

    Wont be for long.

  • @phr34kyy im sorry maybe i misunderstood your last statement, but Iraq never stole Persian culture, they are the same place just different time periods

  • i've been looking for this song for so long. and it happens to be named after a city in my country. wow.

    loreena's voice is so amazing.

  • 11 people made of concrete

  • Long live the Celtic people

  • @phr34kyy Oi, don´t get me wrong, love Loreena and the celts (bceltica?) but...this song has from little to nothing of celtic music, Loreena goes beyond any kind of music genre, she´s so unique and just...well, it is just from out of this world.

  • @bceltica

I'm not sure you know what Celtic music actually is but ok......being Celtic, I'm pretty certain....heh, never mind the fact that shes.....Celtic.

  • @phr34kyy - and long live Loreena McKennit and her beautiful music!

  • @praheelie

    Whom I'm refering to.

Shes Scottish/Irish blood, Celtic, born in Canada, built by Celtic peoples, even the confederate forefathers spoke Scottish Gaelic.

  • @phr34kyy Of course they did. Many of our people, (celtic,Scottish,Welsh,English) came for new opportunities, along with being civilians they joined the confederate armies.

  • @phr34kyy she's canadian...

  • @ishouldplayzelda

But that doesn't mean she's not Celtic.

  • @stuckinsidemyself fine whatever. believe whatever you want to believe

  • @phr34kyy And what do you consider to be the Celtic people? This New Age woman?

  • @hit004541 Shes Scottish/Irish blood, fuck off with your New Age hippie bullshit.

God I hate you people with such a passion, the sheer ignorance and uncaring for a people whom already exist and in an attempt to be all fucking trendy and "new age" drinking the god damned Kool-Aid and trying to be in by ignoring the obvious and claiming other peoples shit.

Sorry mate but a word to the wise, Celtic people exist, Celitc polythiesm, exists...and no new age hippie morons or Wiccan Feminist is welcome.

  • hey now loreena's of celtic descendance but she belongs to the new age style msot of her song sof course do have to do with celtic traditional msuic, but not this one at least. None's agianst the celtic people(fo coruse with the exception of the racist assholes) but loreena's not perfectly udner the celtic music style, she si for the msot par but not entirely.

  • @KiriNoShinobiL

    "New age Style"

Keep your pseudo-hippie fake nonsense away from true culture.

This ancient music is derived from wide Celtic disaspora across the west, Anatolia in Turky was once Celtic and called Galatia, before the Turks and Jews amongest others invaded and raped/murdered and robbed the land and claimed the culture, which of course now is un-native and stagnated

"New age" is meaningless politicaly motivate cultural marxists nonsense and one merely see modern "art" to tell.

  • @hit004541

Oh and before you ask, that BLOOD is what founded the nation and the reason why it exists, not for long though as Celtic people in Canada are being bred and systematically targeted and wiped out as we speak, in everyway, along with everywhere else in the world thanks to you new age degenerates.

and We cannot wait for civil genocidal war either, given the people that have already been indoctrinated in state sponsored schools and or outright raped/murdered/robbed.

  • @phr34kyy Why are these gruesome things happening? Who's behind this?

  • @istari07

Heya, everything you need to know right here.

Its sad because they will reap what they sow, which is a coming civil war, then again its why they started it and will find a way to profit from it also, sick people, you can imagine.

  • just a magic song! greetings from mediteranian greece~~~~~~~

  • its a perfect example of how trully good music sets a mood and sends you to a magical place and tells a story. i dont care if the kids think this doesnt sound in fashion because when they get older and grow out of dub step rubbish they will be open to exotic sounds music can create.

  • absolutely hypnotic. does it get better than this?

  • This song is beautiful in sound and words...listening to the lyrics, Loreena paints a picture of this mysterious market. I can smell the smoke, see the performers and merchants, and feel my heartbeat rising There's an image in my head of this mysterious place that I can't quite grasp, no matter how I try to draw it, like a wisp of smoke.
