  • She can actually model.. Look at all of her versatile posing =)

  • Why not just hire an Asian model? I really don't understand. The model looks like a white girl with slanty eyes. Maybe they weren't trying to look Asian and just wanted to change the girl's look for this particular shoot. And people are thinking it was to look Asian simply because it was for Vogue Japan. I like that explanation better than thinking they were just being racist, because then I'd have to believe they're all retarded.

  • Looks positively unnerving and bizarre.

  • why is she thin again? she was cool before

  • asians have hot eyes, of course someones gonna copy em, especially japanese eyes, just gorgeous, white people have different color eyes though, which are really fucking cool, black people have soft pillows for lips that are amazing to kiss, asian hair, just perfect, hispanics are just this hodgepodge so a lot of times they are fine all over.. I completely forgot what i was talking about.

  • geeezz Crstal Renn pulled it off, she was stunning and the editorial was great. and Of course Vogue wanted her to model for D&G so stop yapping and complaining. If they wanted Asian models they'd get one. btw she was actually cute doing the masculine motif ^_^ (applause)

  • I agree with the comments that said she used face tape to change her aesthetic, not to look "asian". If the editors wanted an asian model I'm sure they would have used one but they wanted crystal renn.

  • Shit, why not just use an ACTUAL japanese model or an asian model at the very least!? There's too many white models anyways, very generic. Even after taping her fucking face that bitch still looked white!

  • @choimaru08

shut up u dumb ugly racist piece of shit !

  • @MrFalangist Your not Asian, so it's okay, I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand.

  • @choimaru08

    YOU FAIL !

im from Lebanon so technically im ASIAN ! xD

    in your FACE !

  • @MrFalangist "in your FACE !" lol that message sounds like it was typed by a child. Nothing I said was racist. But you can believe whatever it is you want to believe, my opinion on the issue still stands, and if that makes me a racist, then I guess I'm just going to have to be labeled a racist.

  • @choimaru08

ow yeah if u insult white people that is not racisme ow yeah sorry

  • @MrFalangist It wasn't an insult and shouldn't be taken as such, considering it's the truth. It's not racist if it's true, remember that.

  • @choimaru08

go back to asia dirty parasite !

  • @choimaru08

you are still a racist piece of shit !

  • The one right you DON'T have in America? The right to not be offended. Stop whining about what's offensive.

  • Crystal Renn has commented on this in an interview on Jezebel. She was not trying to look Asian, she was changing the line of her eyebrow. It was her idea and she has done it on other shoots, including a cover for Spanish Vogue. No one was trying to make her look Japanese.

  • someone slap the mother fucker who thought this was a good idea, then slap the people who allowed it, then slap the bitch who let the people do this to her. truly dumb.

  • FAB

  • The model looks so feaking ugly and weird.

  • incredibly offensive I had no idea that stretched eyes or "almond-shaped eyes" (as some call it) = Japanese. Thanks D&G for educating the world on what it means to be Japanese.

I hope Japanese people do something about this.

  • White people should be happy with themselves, why they trying to be Asian, I mean I know Asians are gorgeous.

  • wow...-____-

  • D&G just went full retard.

  • Comment removed

  • crystal why u do dis :(

  • WTF i have just seen?!

  • what the fuck is this racist shit

  • lol She looks like Fran Stalinofskivitchdavitovichsky

  • I'm confused...if they wanted slanty eyes couldn't they have just hired someone who naturally had those features? This model looks fine without the tape too!

Then again...it's "high" fashion...they treat their models like play dough and force their standards and ignorance onto all of us and say it's in the name of art.

  • Total and utter trash. Also non Asians should just STFU about Asian models getting "plenty of work" and "this is not offensive." Go fuck your ignorant selves.

  • @vincemealfull people think its acceptableto make fun of asians because not enough asians tell them its not.

  • y can't they just get an Asian women to do it?!

  • I'm curious, the drum & base (dnb)-like song / music played here, was it created just for the video or does this exist somewhere?

  • this ugly transsexual wants to laugh. go have a sex change before i poke his eye out, so you can look like a dumb donkey! scum of the earth

  • @masushan shut the hell up, brainless monkey. i will tape your eyeball on an electric cord and electrocute till you feint! son of a bitch.

  • @ageniusx187

I don't know where you're coming from. You know what you're saying to me (though inane) is strictly against the rules. You don't scare me A BIT YOU BULLYING PIECE OF TRASH. Learn to spell while you're at it. If you have a real viewpoint, I'd be happy to hear it. But if you just want to THREATEN ME then you can suck it.

  • @masushan don't talk about view point since yours is clearly manipulative and sadistic! how do you know a certain people's opinion? you stinking piece of shit.

  • no offence .. she is sooo ugly lolol

  • so dissapointed in anna dello russo. this is in poor taste and choice. they should have just hired the sensational chinese beauty fei fei sun who btw is a way better model(not to mention easier on the eyes too).

  • She looks kinda ugly,no offence

  • Omg it's just tape. Chill out, people.

  • @ClaudiaJAJAHAHA no it's not "just tape" asians are one of the most underrepresented groups in the fashion industry and it's insulting because they could have used asian models for this but instead chose white models. this could have given asian models an opportunity to break through in this industry that normally they wouldn't have

  • @luvlyerdj93 Actually it is just tape specefically it's face tape make up artist us it all the time it's a way to warp the features w/o photoshop.

I'd understand if they had more "asain themes" (whatever that means) but it didn't the only thing that links the tape to racism is the fact that it's a vouge Japan photoshoot (which imo is a weak basis for accusations of racism).

  • @CeReAlgurl95 are u really that ignorant? there's no need for asian themes considering the model is trying to look ethnically asian. The fact that the issue is japan vogue just makes it more obvious. just google the model's past shoots and u can see how many changes are made for this shoot. face tape is used to smoothen features and wrinkles, not a substitute for fingers to stretch eyes. her skin also seems to have been yellowed as well.

  • @Fubob11 she is not trying to look asain it takes more than "stretched eyes" and "yellowed" skin to look asain. And it being Japan Vogue means absolutely nothing. And cyrstal Renn has very Dramatic Brows and she uses face

  • @Fubob11 [continued] tape regularly to change the look of her face.

  • 1:32 - LOL.

  • If they wanted someone who looked asian, why not hire someone who does? She actually looks Latino.

  • I'm Japanese and am not offended at all. What's wrong with it?

  • @wishpeopleknowtruth I think it's very wrong. In so many ways...

  • @isaacakira Why? Is something wrong if people not Asian try to look like Asian? Even if they don't seem to mock Asians?

  • @wishpeopleknowtruth Read this one and you will understand.

    en.wikipedia[dot]org[slash]wiki[slash]Chink#Offensiveness_and_reappropriation

  • @wishpeopleknowtruth nytimes[dot]com/2007/10/22/style/22iht-22runway.8007687.html

  • If they wanted to portray Asian eyes, it would have been smarter to fix her eye makeup. Less painful too. Honestly.. who thinks to tape someone's eyes back? -_-

  • I'm very disappointed in D&G. Being Asian myself, I find this offensive. It's the same as if they were doing a fashion editorial on Africa and they hired a white model and painted her face and body black. It's one thing to feature clothing influenced by a different culture, but it's another thing to want the model to look like someone from that culture. If you want a girl with an Asian look, hire someone's that's Asian or at least part Asian. I really don't think that's hard to do nowadays.

  • For a model, she's preatty fucking unattractive . . . .

  • she looks like gay

  • personaly i dont understand all the hate offended that peopel want to look asian shouldent that be a complament, the fashions looks stupid well yh it concept fashion after taking theas photos peple pick out part of the out fit they like not all of it and the pictures would be used for advertiving so yh, and why dident they hire and asian ermm i duno proboly beacuse they want the asian look just the eyes they propboly still want a white skin colour and other typical facial looks of a caucasion

  • Models are overrated. I see tons of girls prettier than this shit. And also a lot less shallow and vain.

  • What's so wrong or offensive about taping someone's eyes to give an oriental look? Should brunettes avoid bleaching their hair to look Scandinavian? Is it wrong for women of African origin to straighten their hair to give a European/Oriental look? Should women not use henna tattoo like Indian women do. Who is offended and why? Who dreams these 'offences' up? Get over yourselves people. Jesus.

  • @Irishboy993 the fact that youre using such a derogatory term as "oriental" says alot.. theyre using tape... nobody wears tape in public.. but ppl do wear henna tattoos if that's in their culture or belief. straightening hair example vs. tape example.. right. ok im not saying youre wrong for thinking that this is not offensive towards asians, but your examples don't relate to the issue at hand.

  • @Irishboy993 The point isn't that people shouldn't try to look different. The point is that it is yet another time when the Western media has decided to "ethnosize" a white person, instead of hiring someone who is actually Asian. It feeds into that age-old Hollywood belief that white people (the majority) won't buy a product that doesn't have a white person on it, so instead of actually hiring a minority person to play a minority person, they continue to hire white people to play non-whites.

  • Do they think she looks asian?

  • impractical? i wear shit like this clubbing.

  • perhaps i am out of date but this is just awful, not the model but everyone associated with the program

  • I'm Asian and kinda disgusted that they taped her eyes. You'd be better off getting a Japanese girl with pales skin and big eyes. Rather than an Hispanic looking man

  • Fashion is something so ugly it has to be changed every six months - Oscar Wilde

  • Profit to Brand = 100%

Any contribution to charity and helping the world = 0.00%

  • iS IT A MAN IN DRAG

  • how the fuck is this trending?

  • @MrGibjab they payed youtube to be in trends.

  • Fashion and the people who work in fashion have become arrogant and deluded. This is not what man intended when he first styled his wolf/bear rug.

  • @andydzee Referring to early man is hardly a good argument. There's a lot of crazy shit early man did and "intend" to do.

  • her skin is nasty

  • freak. look natural...

  • She's not even that good looking..

  • 1:13 looks like a man.

  • freak show

  • Oh great, another trending spot BOUGHT by a company. Youtube aren't even trying to be fucking discreet about it either.

  • her eyebrows! <3

  • japan sucks cock.

  • If you don't understand high fashion don't watch this video and keep moving :)

  • i realy don't see how this is racist i mean if they are trying to make her look asian, doesn't that mean they admire asian beauty?

  • FUCK THIS

  • I'm Asian and a photographer, I don't really know much about fashion but the model did a great job and the technique using tape is very interesting. I think they want the Western and Asian looks.

  • she looks like a man..

  • @JRB1882 no she doesn't

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch yes she does hence my 4 likes

  • @JRB1882 Just because she not classically beautiful does not make look like a man. You just don't understand other forms of beauty and the four people who liked you are ignorant.

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch this isnt fashion this is stupidity. who would tape someones eyes just to make someone look asian, why is her hair in a male style. why is she wearing such stupid disgusting clothing. If she dresses like a boy, then sadly she will be told she looks like one.

  • @JRB1882 This is fashion, it's called androgynous fashion, look it up love. And the model is interpreting an Asian look. And the clothes look beautiful from the sequined jackets to sequined dress. You just one of those people who don't understand high fashion and therefore mock it for your your lack of understanding.

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch the question is would anybody wear those clothes? no, because they look disgusting not beautiful and btw im not mocking fashion, i have absolutely no interest in the subject and as far as im concerned you can continue to wear your ugly clothing pretending to be asian all you want.

  • @JRB1882 People do wear these clothes and the fact that you admitted that you don't know much about the fashion, says it all. Go and research these things before you leave fuckery like your comments.

  • @JRB1882

why do men braid there hair, why do men where caboray this is what the 21st century has become those cloths to you might be ugly but are bringing in millions on a world wide scale those cloths are providing jobs and money for familys and also this winter season dressing like a man is in just like last season men held hand bags becasue some coke junked designer thought it was essencial.i do not agree with what they did to her face but get used to it i have seen a lot worse

  • sorry but she looks fucking horrendous.

  • F U

  • As much as this is fake, it's pretty interesting to watch imo. xD

  • 1 word wierd

Why do people buy these sh7tty magazines & pay stupid prices for stupid clothes

dont buy boxers with another mans name on

    dont buy £1000 pound handbags

dont buy a dog to put in the handbag

dont wear stupid clothes and call it 'fashion'

  • @copperkipper1 The reason why they cost so much cause of the detail they put into them. This is luxury not high street honey. If you see the process they take to design these clothes, let alone the sewing the garment and the beading. Don't mock what you can't understand.

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch lol. Clothes are clothes. My £90 suit looks better than any £200-600 suit in store.

  • @copperkipper1 well no, £90 hasn't got the same quality as a £200-600 suit. Such as fabric, stitching and design.

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch

It fitted better than most of the suits in the store

    Felt silky smooth inside

    perfect fit

    Looked just the same

Unless you bring a magnifing glass into play

  • @copperkipper1 honey go to a high street store and designer or tailor you'll see the difference ;)

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch Actually, it easily could. I've seen designer clothes with downright appalling stitching - So bad even I think I could do better. I have a £5 jacket that has the EXACT same design as a jacket I saw going for £350. Same fabric. Same design. It has lasted me 6 years and counting.

In a shop I used to work in, we had a Prada dress for a 3 year old kid. It looked like a clown outfit, costed £250 and the stitching was utterly pathetic. Some gimp still bought it. Why?

  • @TalonWolf I don't what designer clothes your talking about, the designer clothes you must of saw must of been made in or something. Designer clothes has to perfectly made, no garment which is manufactured Milan, can not be shipped to shop with poor stitching and construction. I've seen designer clothes in their flagship stores, none of them are poorly made. And I don't know what children wear prada you saw, cause when I saw their children wear it was normal not clown-ish.

  • @MickeyzFashionCrunch Obviously they would put their flawless clothes in their flagship stores. My point is that they're not consistent, and generally people are paying for the label alone which makes literally no sense to me. The Prada dress was a patchwork design that looked like a clown's outfit. It offended my eyes, and I was overcome with the urge to set it on fire before some poor schmuck emptied their wallet on an inferior and grotesque clothing item.

  • @TalonWolf the manufacturing is consistent. No matter where its shipped.

  • I read on the Dailymail that she's a 'plus size' model. What the actual fuck. She's a bloody stick.

  • That is the look vogue nippon is going for so stfu everyone...

  • See, here's the discrepancy. I don't know where you can draw the line between fashion and being over-extravagant. D&G would tell you that these clothes are fashionable, but if we saw a person dressed like that, we'd think "what a tosser". It seems fashion has no meaning any more, but to just "be as crazy as you can".

  • because this is racist.... Yep, the PC brigade are at it again.

  • bollocks

  • Not going to lie she is a really good model, such a selection of poses. As a photographer i would love to work with her, but i agree they should have just gotten and Asian model if that's what they we're going for.

  • whenever i see these type of videos i feel like....youtubeisforrealpeoplenotthisfakestuff

  • flag > spam > mass advertising

  • Actually they use tape in fashion shows quite often just to get more cat-like, fierce eyes - Dior uses it in their shows often. They don't just use asian models in Japan VOGUE, they like to have a mix of models - just like we do over here.

  • lol taping her eyes back to look more asian? fucking hell man. and all those outfits looked stupid. i dont get it.

  • i half expected to see Bruno :))

  • How the fuck Is this trending?

  • why didn't they just t model a hot Asian? reminds me of when an advert, can't remember which one, where they airbrushed Beyonce to look a lot more white.

  • I'm pretty fucking sure this shouldn't be trending.

  • I always thought I was asian. but my eyes don't slant up in the slightest. I guess maybe I'm not Asian after all?

  • other than the Asian thing, she's a great model! wow!

  • Sorry but taping her eyes back only makes her mannish not Asian.

  • @aerosmithfanz that's the point..........

  • im mad, i would got an asian girl for the job, i dont have money i to be spending on tape to try and fool people

  • Someone, give her a sandwich. She is so thin that she looks she's starving.

  • I thought she was supposed to be a plus sized model? She looks slim here.

  • @cosmiccoolgirl She stopped being that, unfortanetely. She looked beautiful and healthy back than, she now is back in the size 0 world!

  • and they couldn't just use an asian model..why??

  • Reminds me of that documentary, Zoolander.

  • Good god, I love Crystal! This androgynous look is delicious.

p.s, whoever said that the clothes are impractical...well, fashion doesn't need to be practical. It's a form of expression ;).

  • kinda offensive.. why didn't they just hire asian model?

  • Vogue If you want a model with "asian" eyes you get an asian model, you don't tape a models eyes back. You want a EurAsian look? You get a EurAsian model. I guess you don't know this b/c hey Vogue you gave us "slave earrings". But once again this is offensive. OR you just don't care & you're laughing behind the curtains. Also there is a trend in Asia called double eyelid surgery. It makes your eyes more open aka BIG. You need to hire better people.

P.S. She has a wonk (uneven, asymmetrical) eye.

  • This is why high end fashion is mocked and laughed at by the majority of people. Not only are the clothes impractical and hideous looking they now tape a Womans eyes to make her appear Asian. Hey you know how I would get a model to look Asian.....I would hire an Asian.

  • @mission762008 have you thought that maybe they are trying to admire asian beauty?

  • @mission762008 these clothes are wearable what are you talking about. You can wear these clothes at a party or an event, it's high fashion we're not going to jeans and t-shirts honey. And the model looks beautiful, if you don't like fashion, why watch it?

  • @mission762008 uhh no her eyes aren´t taped, her eyebrows are to make them look straight

  • that's a little rude, haha

  • didn't realize how offensive this was until I actually watched it.

  • shes such a professional

  • looks like a drag queen

  • She works the camera SO well.

  • @HoyehItsCheyenne YOUR SO RIGHT!! AND BESIDES its a trend in asia to make your eyes look more non asian anyhow so i dont see how this is a problem asians tape their eyes to do the opposite.

  • Renn kills it here!

  • I LOVE!!

  • So glad u finally posted a new vid!!!

  • Omg, ana, i lovve uuuu

  • That's what I love from Anna Delorusso, she takes the style to the next level
