It ruined my childhood... Kicking off all the medication was the hardest thing I've ever done... It makes me so angry! I was 13 years old, thinking of all those are children's lives being destroyed at this moment makes me so angry! SO very angry and desperate. I lost a lot of memory due to the electro-shocks I had to take... IT MAKES ME ANGRY! Please, please please! No one should let their kids get addicted to this drug(s)! I'm ok now, there is light at the end.

I almost killed myself. I have never told anyone that before. I was on it for 11 months. 10m then 20, then 30 then 40. It caused some OCD which I never had before, and eventually I started planning my open-coffin funeral. I am a vain Leo that hates violence, so the fact that I was going to buy a pistol and shoot myself in the temple is contrary to my beliefs and thoughts. Better now, I'm on Zoloft. But its still not great. ;O( This isn't adrug to make you better. It only stops suicide.

I have been taking celexa which is a ssri and i am on day 5 right now, due to the fact i have depression and anxiety i think it is helping a bit, the worst side effects i get from it is nausea and sleepiness, sometimes i get more anxious when i take it but that is because i am anxious of taking any drug period XP some antidepressants work and some do not, it takes time to see which one works

Please dont blame the prozac.... depression is a living hell inside one's own mind and Jo's doctor should have seen that it was not working.

Some doctors just prescribe and do not follow up to see if t is the right one... each SSRI touches a different part of the brain. It can be trial and error and is to be closely monitored until the correct drug and dosage is found.

Prozac saved me, I have been on and off it for years and it really makes adifference in a good way for some of us.

When i took prozac i felt like someone was trying to mind control me.Same with any other anti depressants,those things are seriously fucked up in my opinion they never made me feel better,i can take tranquilizers or anti anxiety cures but anti depressants seriously drain your brain chemistry or put it to a stop.

Prozac helped me through post acute opiate withdrawal when my serotonin was all fucked up, so I wouldn't say this medication is absolutely repugnant, you just have to be prescribed it for the right reason and not take it if it causes too much distress. Everybody is different.

I'm taking Prozac and Trazodone for depression and anxiety, and yes, taking these meds will trip you the fuck out. During the summer, while taking these meds, I started collecting insects in a jar just to watch them suffer. Then I started having dreams about insects, one time, after waking up from a dream about a bunch of bees, I still saw the hundreds of bees on my wall, and it took about 30 seconds for them to disappear. I guess it was a lucid dream. I'm not sure if the meds are helping.

@PodRacer012 The vivid/lucid dream part is perfectful normal while taking these kinds of anti-depressants, but the collecting insects to watch them suffer part, isn't normal, lol. I'm not on these medications anymore for depression, however, I still have bad anxiety and insomnia, but I am practicing natural treatment/remedies to keep it under control instead of taking anti-anxiety medication. :)

My sympathy goes out to Jos' family and all who cherished her. I'm a Prozac user and it saved my life, though I'm still trying to not wish that I recieved the pills so late in life. Some times in life what's worse than losing your mind is getting it back. May be Jo was med resistant, I know I felt some horrid when I first started on the Prozac but it went away after 3 days.

i'm taking this and have been for like 5 years. i tried getting off of it once, but i was really depressed when i did so i went back on it, i feel totally fine with it, i dont get as depressed as i used to. lol, i dont think anything bad has happened to me with taking it... but maybe something will in the future lol. who knows.

i think antidepressents can be a helpfull drug, but only in combonation with therapy and as a temporary help. also, people should have to take some sort of class about the potential effects of antidepressants before taking them and have follow up appointments just about the effects of the medication

I was on prozac for 12yrs. At first it was great. I had so much energy. I started running as a new pastime.I thought i was in heaven. Like all good things it came to an end.I ended up as a very aggressive willing to fight at a drop of a hat. I am off prozac now. I am calm and relaxed now.

I think not only those things stopped... A Psychodrug is not capable of selecting only negative things in removing negative symptoms. I guess your depression was caused by something you need and you don't have yet, Prozac cannot give you what you need that causes your depression. Prozac can only shut down your negative symptoms of your pain together with Your Vitality And Rationality.

I puked up most.. but now suffer neurological damage, memory loss, daily migraines, amongst other things. prozac ruined my life also. It is NOT pointless pain, it cannot be so. Everything happens for at least a reason, every pain has at least a reason. Do you want to remove pain? Just look for real reasons of that pain, so remove those real reasons first. NO PSYCHODRUGS are useful for removing reasons of pain, but Psycho Therapy instead is useful for it. I'm not an ignorant person about those things, I've been taking psychodrugs of every type for about 11 years and no positive result I got. Only Psycho Therapy can do it.

Depression us pointless. Nothing good comes from the suffering. Nothing good comes from self-hate and loneliness. It is counterproductive. It is hard to work. You isolate yourself. It hurts. Prozac makes it possible to be yourself, and happy, without the unnecessary burden. It may not be what helped you, but it helped many people, myself included.

As the person who did this video I need to say that there are so few people who take antidepressants under the "care of a professional." Most people are put on them, and then stay on them for decades and are not monitored nor explained the long term side effects. Studies conclude that antidepressants are only about 68% more effective than a placebo, but if they work for some people, that is good, there is a good chance though it is a placebo effect.
