I feel like Karol is the most underrated character. Everybody who plays this game plays it different. I personally love using Karol. Yuri can pin them down long enough for Karol to come in with a Death Quake Spark that does 30000 damage. He's awesome.

nah...level 1 OL doesn't make him lift up..level 4 OL makes him stunned after using it

It's a skill, mainly used for combo-ing.

i dont know why but i really dont like Karol.

I always have Raven, Yuri, Estell and Judith in my party... they did a pretty good job so far

I always switch up my party but I always have Estelle and Yuri as a constant, other than that, everyone else is switched in and out.

Yeah, I always have Estelle as well, but along with Rita too. I'm always changing between Karol and the others, don't really know who I like the best.

Karol and Repede are better at dealing with Mystic Artes than Estelle. With Steel Defence, a late game weapon skill, Karol is unbelievably difficult to kill. He benefits more from 2nd playthrough carryovers more than anyone else because of how powerful Steel Def + Nice Curing are, but because they're so late game, Karol is rather iffy in a 1st playthrough. Gale Dog needs no explanation as a Mystic Arte dodge.

Karol + Raven also make better healers (and attackers) than Estelle.

Using the Force field + Eternal Support glitch counts as cheating and shouldn't be considered a legitimate way of beating a boss (making it impossible to lose a fight was not Namco's intention, and is simply an oversight as a result of the way Force Field is handled by the game as a buff). It was fixed in the PS3 version (as in removed), so the FS + ES bug is only a novelty and not something a real player would consider using since it's so obviously a gamebreaking bug/oversight.

Hey, if you suck that much at Vesperia that you need to abuse an instant win glitch (the only such one that's ever appeared in the Tales series; ToD:R original's Flash ability wasn't even this broken), then by all means, continue to be a sub-par gamer. But it's still a bug/oversight that was fixed in the PS3 version, something that will remain a fact regardless of what you choose to think.

quick question, can you only charge the arte hotkeyed on "A"?  thanks.

Only specific artes can be charged, and only if you have those on the 'A' artes hotkeys (A+Up, etc.) since holding the right stick to charge wouldn't work.

i got it. thanks. i was just messing up with my hotkeys and could only get the one hotkeyed to just "a" to work. on another note, u can purposely miss a normal attack to hold the charge, and use a right stick arte and it will do the charged action.
