As 'The Dowager Duchess' would no doubt say, ''I say ... Well done young lady, what a marvelous job, you simply must have a very well competent maid. Where on earth did you find her?.."
But we wouldn't ask about the maid, because you showed US how to do it...
Brilliant and a beautiful smile at the end too.
Many thanks and my very best regards from Wales .. :0)x
@atrinka1 If I remember correctly I did this hairstyle before spending a night in watching a movie, so I didn't get dressed up or anything haha. I do have a small antique jewelry collection though, so if I decide to wear this style for a night out I might pair it with an Edwardian brooch or bracelet :)
I love this! It's so amazing and your hair is beautiful. :)
I've been looking for beautiful intricate hairstyles from this period inspired from Downton Abbey. If you could do more hair styles from this time period I would be so grateful! Like Sybil's braided down hair styles?
@raintessa Could you find me a few pictures of the style you had in mind? I will see what I can do but I might not be able to until after the next season airs. Last time I went looking for hairstyle inspiration for Downton Abbey styles I accidentally came across a few spoilers for the next season!
@betonbranson You can buy foam rats at most beauty supply stores, but I make mine out of my hair so that they match perfectly. I use hair from my hair brush, wash it, then roll it and mat it until it knots together and holds it shape (some people wrap the hair in a small hairnet instead). You don't have to use your hair though. Here is a great tutorial for making one without using hair: vavoomvintage.blogspot.com/2010/03/tutorial-how-to-make-rat.html
This is amazing! I'm so going to do it one day :) Thank-you for posting!

Can you do this with medium shoulder length hair?
corilaemmel 1 month ago
@corilaemmel Shoulder length hair should work fine. You rolls will just be less dense, but that shouldn't affect the overall look of the style :)
