  • You have the goofiest, happiest grin ever at the start of this video. Love it. Looks like I'll end up getting the Chinese model of this, hope I don't have to fix it up too much to make it play well!

  • Lucky man - how much are you enjoying playing it? Looks wonderful :-)

  • Where exactly did you buy this? When you bought it, it came with all that stuff along with the guitar, or did you buy that stuff separately?

  • Hey Remy, are you planning to get the latest model, the FRM100TR? I am!

  • @guitaristdho this guitar is better than the new one

  • @dakota7583 Obviously when the new Fireman is an affordable version of the original one, which is like 9 times cheaper.

  • WoW sounds like my ic400 iceman?? its nice but no why does it cost so much?? Really when it comes down to it no guitar is worth that much! with that being said Id like to have one but id rather buy 2 or three les pauls

  • Only 45 made am I right? Worth the price?

  • Holy shit! That's one sweet ass guitar, even though I'm a Fender guitarist!

  • Inlove whit that guitar

  • if i had money....

  • clips of my custom built FireMarshall are up now, I spent $1400.00 to build mine, its INSANE!

  • I hate you, you have my dream guitar! Seriously, congrats...it looks great!

  • wow nice guitar

  • i fucking love this guitar, must have =)

  • Dat is godverdomme een goddelijke gitaar.

  • @JoshuaSmits

    yeah right

  • Man you can shred! I don't really like ibanez usually, but this is really an interesting guitar, and love the sound too (maybe because of the single coils). The shape is ugly, but we love ugly gtrs don't we?

  • u know...Remy..u are surely Paul Gilberts Fan No1. but what I don´t understand...why don`t You use a Gilbert Amp (Laney GH 50 or Marshall Vintage)..makes no Sense to me ;o)

  • @Slears : Whatever works for Remy I suppose, when it comes down to it Laney and Marshall are just a brand name. I'm sure Paul Gilbert would be more approval if a fan goes and finds his own prefered amp rather than just get the same as him because he uses it.

  • This guy's a pro.

  • So god damn expensive... I cant stand it lol 10k for that is too fucking much, sorry :( Id just keep it stuck in the case forever lol

  • Remy, can you please upload a video where you play some clean with the fireman? It would be very appreciated ! :D

  • how much did it cost you

  • @skycaptain141 probably enough :-P

  • @brando18guitarplyr So True!!:-)

  • isnt the big neck really annoying? isnt it like playing a goddamn tree?

  • @TimoBaader Not Really Timo! It's actually quite Comfortable since the palm of my hand can Touch the Neck when playing! Thanks!

  • hey dude i got a question, are you using the stock strings that these are originally shipped with? cuz i hear that they're really thick, kinda like what PG uses

  • @v7JaMz7v Hey There! They're 0:10-,0:46 that's what I always play

  • @remyhansen Let me start with saying i love your video's and i think you really help people, their is nothing more annoying than buying a guitar, with not one youtube review, so thanks for that. also i see you have a lot of paul gilbert models, if you would advise me a guitar what would it be a pg rg model or the fireman?

  • man! what is wrong with you?! you are a paul gilbert copy ! invent your own style damit

    its very sad

  • @Tzachi076S Wow! Now I finally know what's wrong with me! Thanks man!

  • @remyhansen

    no problem :]

    but seriously, its a problem

  • @Tzachi076S @Tzachi076S Don't you think that blazing over PG leads improves ones own playing? Remy has a lot of killer original licks, like the intro to this video. He raises eyebrows and drops jaws wherever he plays live so who cares who he sounds like? It's impossible to have your own completely unique style this day and age anyway because it's all been done! Remy you rock in my book and I'll always come back for more! ;)

  • @Yugrox1

i dont know but to me he sounds exactly like paul gilbert,he do have some licks that are kinda original but they

still sound to me like paul gilbert and i think you can have you own style this day

and i still belive that there are more things that have not been done out there

its freaks me out to see players that are copy of other plays but if he enjoys his playing who am i to tell him something diffrent?

  • @Tzachi076S Now THAT sounds a lot different! Do check my other videos, and you'll see that I have a LOOOOT more up my sleeve! But I've been studing/Transcribing Paul's stuff since the 80ties, and I guess that I can't really hide that! Also a lot of Vai, Satch and Petrucci!

  • @Yugrox1 Thanks Guy! I feel what you mean!

    Best,

    Remy

  • lolz :)

  • Hi guys i was wandering whats better, cuz ive got a ibanez s470 but i want a iceman but i dont know whats better help...plz...

  • @TheGuitardude111 theyre about the same. but the iceman is a neck thru, comes with dimarzios, and is a fixed bridge/string thru and 24 frets. the s470 has a trem, 22 frets (if its older but i dont know what year you have) and whatever pickups you have in it. but why settle when you can select? keep your s470 and save for an iceman. you have $800 to make, now go! haha

  • @deathcore1239 haha cool thanks, but since im in england its £649 so itprobably wont take long to make the money, although the s470 is my baby its time i gave it up lol, thanks for the advice :)

  • @deathcore1239 haha thanks, ive always liked the iceman. but since i live in england its £645 not $800 lol, thanks for the advice :)

  • @TheGuitardude111 and time my friend :)

  • ha i have the pick of destiny and it really works lol

  • Hey Remy, have you ever played a Carvin Holdsworth Fatboy? Just wondering which neck is thicker: The Fireman or the Holdsworth...

On another note, it's good to see that such an amazing guitar made its way into the hands of someone with some talent for a change!

  • The tapping in the beginning was awesome.

  • soooooo much fret buzz :(

  • why the thickness? it makes it easier to play?

  • @4251268 thickness means more tone

  • Comment removed

  • yeah beautiful !!!! what is the profile of this neck ? it look like a les paul fat profile !! i love it

  • wtf, your PGM has pink strings!? xD

  • Is the Fireman chambered or weight relieved in any way? Does it have a top on it?

  • I noticed there weren't any plates on the back of the guitar. Are the electronics accessed through the pickgaurd?

  • @guitarfreak12398 Yep:-)

    The PGM-FRM 2 Has a backplate though..

  • this is a guitar made in limited numbers and its available in Japan only, they have draw a lottery for the buyer to purchased a Fireman...you mustve done something great to get this, congrats!!

  • @wisesatyr72 Actually This one was made available for the rest of the world. All 45 of them. The Other one , the PGM-FRM2 ( Humbucker version) was kept in Japan.Only 5 of those were made. Thanks

  • You r like me a die hard Paul gilbert fan but errrrrrrrrrrr

i can't play that good as you do.

  • where can u find these bullet cables and how much are they? :D

  • ok thanks for responding and keep shredding dude you rock

  • you read the number by a b c d e f g as the months and the first to numbers are the years so your guitar was made may of 2009

  • @pgmsrock Thanks! But I learned that already:-) Also the the other numbers

  • It sounds amamzing, I would have though the singles coils would lack...power I wanna sasy?

  • lucky bastard

  • awesome guitar

  • lol you have almost every guitar i would ever want

  • I would kill for a guitar like this. It's amazing!!!

  • yeah, thank you!!!

Maybe I'll buy the red version...

  • Hey, what kind of strings did you push into the PGM100, waht trademark??

Sorry for my english :S, i'm spanish...

  • @Gundre82 Hey there! It has the DR strings on it! With the collored coating!

DR Hot Pink I think they're called

  • Superb.. But Damn expensive...

  • Man you really deserve all that gear!! Grat playing!!

  • Dude you are awesome and so are your videos, I'm annoyed I didn't find you sooner.

  • Theres No Back Opening? Wtf? Thats My Only Issue, I Would Want To Make Pickup Modifications, Cause I Only Like Humbuckers

  • You deserve that guitar 100%. Amazing playing man! Amazing guitar too!

  • @XAlphaZEROX Thank you very, very much!

  • recently i saw the FRM2, it's the mahogany version with two humbuckers. only sold in japan. it was so expensive too, it was like 500000 yen. o_o

  • I either want an iceman with PAF pros or an american strat with those area 67s seeing as this the only ibanez with 3 single coils and its 6-7,000 dollars

  • now idk about the "fireman" picks specifically, but i've noticed paul using his signature ibanez picks alot lately... like when I saw him at NGW he was using those instead of the .60 mm tortex's (which i personally prefer)

also im not 100% sure on this but at the very beginning of the terrifying guitar trip theres a close up of his hands and what hes using seems to resemble the ibanez ones though i guess they could be anything...

  • E09202 is the serial # Remy just fyi cause you said you couldn't read it :-)

  • Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude....

    kudos.

  • Wow amazing!!!!!! i wish i had the money! Hey could you buy me one? hahah Just Kidding. Enjoy it!!!!!

  • I think you're the only guy on youtube with that guitar. You're something special :D

  • You rock, man !!!!!! You play and sound great !!

  • I love your technique. Very paul-ish

  • will the single coiles do anything to the sound of the overdrive

  • No, it may sound a little cleaner, but I doubt paul would sell an $8000 guitar with bad pickups lol

  • Those DiMarzio Area '67 single coils sound AMAZING with overdrive/distortion!

  • you rich bastard!

  • haha you play an awesome solo-esuq thing and then say "something like that". LOVE IT xD

A Paul fan? me too :D

  • kid with a new toy!

It's truly a joyful moment and it's nice to have it recorded, I wish you years of playing this beuty!

  • It puts a smile on my face to see how much you are enjoying that beautiful axe!

  • i cant believe you actually have one! bastard [ew] lol kidding

  • How do you feel about the shorter scale? Is it slowing you down at all?

  • Great vid! I played one today and it BLOWS AWAY most of the PRS that I have played in the same price range. An incredible guitar. I hope they do not discontinue it. They should make the series cheaper by using mahogany f or the next run. I have to save for one and I want to make sure and get one. Best to all and great video!

  • Masterpiece.

  • Remy that Fireman is just stunning!!!!, it´s great that someone who really knows to shred have this awesome intrument in his hands, I was thinking that now that you have covered many of the SFBADR songs and you have an Airplane Flanger you should do Paul Vs. Godzilla, I think that with your skills and that gear it would sound just incredible and I will be the first one to see it.

Hope you keep this in mind and akeep the good work

  • Hey Remy

If you're willing to pay $100 Hippie strap will make one with your name on it :) I think you've seen mine.

    Sounds incredible as usual

  • Actually , the hippie strap is kinda dangerous to the Guitar!!

The Buckle will bang into it occasionally when taking the guitar off! So I changed to a alll leather strap!

    Thanks!

  • ah i always have the buckle end on the side that doesn't touch the wood :) i can understand you being extra cautious though!

  • Im guessing the serial number means "09" for 2009 but since there are only supposed to be 45 or 50 available worldwide i am not gonna say the 202 means its number 202 because that would not be correct. Anyone want to help out with what the 202 means?

  • Yeah I guess 09 is the year, 202 means February 2nd ..........

    I mean that makes sence!:-)

  • well if they only made one guitar a day, it would make sense but i doubt that. maybe its 09 for 2009 and the 20 could mean its the 20th made and the 2 could mean february

  • HOLLY CRAP!!!!

    u already have one!!??!

congrats man, i wish i had one...

    whatta bout its playability?

  • Coloradooooo Bulldooooooog :-)

  • gebruik je m of zou je m mogelijk door willen verkope?;) Heb n nieuwe nodig en t lijkt me dat dit wel een goeie is (if it's good enough for Gilbert... :P)

  • Vraagje trouwens, heb je die koptelefoon nog? ;-)

  • Tuurlijk!

  • heheh Een nederlandse Paul gilbert en Yngwie . Nu nog een Ice man heh !! hahah

  • wow i would play it all the time too lucky

  • congrats on that beauty , wish i had one ;)

  • woooou :D nicee lml

  • Very Nice Remy, if anyone should get one of these... glad its you!

  • Ha ha It's good, it's gooddddd

  • I thought it came with the ADA Flanger?

  • I'm amazed you could afford one of the those man, they are really expensive. I guess working at a music store must have gotten you a little discount or something right? Sounds nice too.

Any way are you planning on getting the PGM 401 as well?

  • Wow, it's really cool guitar!! Great sound))))) 5+

  • I hate when those kind of dream guitars comes in wrong hands but..Not this time!! You are great!! Keep on rockin' with that beast, you really deserve it!!

  • FUCK! That thing costs 80GRAND!!!!!

  • Not eighty grand, eight grand.

  • Oops wrong currency

  • What does a new one go for?

  • Nu nog lady Madonna leren spelen.....en dan ben je "the man".........

  • OMG so amazing!

  • beautiful guitar

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! Such a beautiful guitar for awesome guitar player like you! Great sound!

  • Cooooool...enjoy It, Remy.

  • Can't tell for certain, but it looks like the number is

    E 09202

  • sweet ass guitar...expensive as hell too. arent those guiars about 8 or 9 thousand dollars?

  • So please Remy, tell me the point of this guitar... is it just the collector's choice? It's got a thick neck, 3 single coils (I'd miss at least 1 humbucker)... This guitar is surely no choice for the average player, is it?

  • Paul Gilbert designed it himself.

He wanted the thick neck for a thicker tone and was blown away with the Area '67 pickups too, and decided that he would make a guitar.

With its price, it isn't for the average player, no, but I'd guess that it's alot like a Strat, but a little more heavy.

  • take a look into the pickups, the dimarzio area's are actually humbuckers fitted into a single, and as for the thick neck it has a crapload of sustain and very pure tone, i also can say the linear body shape has an effect too, as that i made a guitar with that shape

  • Actually the pick-ups are Single coils! Not stacked Humbuckers............

  • really? wow. i thought that the area pickups were stacked.

  • Paul is awesome, so are you! You should play together some more :p

  • He man!

    Zit er onwijs uit!!!!

    Greetz,

    Martin

  • it looks like you have a really great muting technique (at least it does to me)

and i'd love to see a tutorial video :-)

  • Wow, I was dreaming of this guitar. Seeing your video made me want it even more haha, anyways you seem very happy so Ifeel like I wont make a bad choice haha, thanks for uploading.

    Cya, Mike

  • how the heck did u afford that :O ?

  • Dude!

  • something like that........ something like that.............. something like that

  • I dislike the new fireman model, but I most definitely like your playing. For a sec I thought it was Paul himself playing! nice!

  • luminous guitar strings on the PGM 100!

  • that's an amazing guitar and some equally amazing playing to match.

  • Salut Remy, magnifique guitare !! félicitation

  • Congrats on the Fireman! Very nice guitar, and you play awesome too.

  • List is around $9k, but MSRP is 7k. Rich from ibanez rules has a deal, the Fireman and the 100RE for 7k together.

  • seriously, I cant think of a better person who deserves to own such a beautiful and great guitar then you Remy, you have awesome tone and amazing technique and you truly deserve it. Congrats!!!! (=

  • you deserve to own all these guitars man....you are one of the biggest PG fans that i know of

  • ohhh im ever so jelous. but thats ok cuz one day ill have one,

  • I knew you was going to buy one, you lucky son a **'**

  • Dude you have it !!!!! Congrats !!

  • in every photo/vid i've seen the fireman in its sooooooooooooooooooo shiny

  • sounds and looks killer Remy, the body looks thick too, is it made of Cherry ?

  • Hey man!

No the Body and Neck are made of Korina.....

  • i think the new guitar deserves Eudaimonia Remy, come on you know it makes sense!!! :D

  • So I guess it's just like Paul said, huh? Once you pick it up you can no never let it go again ;)

  • I don't like those guitars eh. But Remy is the man!!

  • you hav forgotten to mantion that dis guitar is so expensiv that normaly live standart humans can´t buy it^^ like me^^

  • amazing playing. the fireman is so incredible. do u think its really worth the money?

  • wow ducking low action

  • I lke the guitar but in my opinion I would rather get the ice man...cuz to me that long hook like shape of the body at the top would annoy the fuck out of me me...but all in all its a beautiful guitar...very nice man!!
