My family likes to make fun of gays and it really pisses me off. They also expect me to jump in on it with them too, so I just lock myself in the room til they leave.

So both are the same in that romantic feelings are what develop rather than sexual, but they are different in that bis take gender into consideration while pan does does care about gender.

I have to agree with you about the Bi-sexual thing, when I came out and said "I like guys AND girls" the immediate reaction from some of the lesbians in my school was "you have to chose one or the other, there is no such thing as being bi" which at the time was hurtful, but now that I am a little older and have gone to parties, I see why I got that reaction. I'm a lesbian, and you're right, it is a very emotional thing to go through. It took me 5 years to figure out who I was. I turned 20 in June and about a month before I turned 18 I came out to my mom. From then until not even a month ago we fought, she treated me like shit, made me feel worthless, pushed me to attempt suicide, and told me I was an abomination to God; then in July, she kicked me out. All because of something I can't help, because I like women and not men. It's a shame...

@victoriaisntsosecret No, why would they be the same? Biromantic: the Bi part means attraction to the two genders, Panromantic: the Pan means not seeing gender when looking at a person. So both are the same in that romantic feelings are what develop rather than sexual, but they are different in that bis take gender into consideration while pan does does care about gender.

Hey Jenna, I know that the chance of you reading this is really unlikely, but if you do, or anyone else who does, i could really use someone to talk to and help figure out my sexuality. I've been questioning it for a few years now. I've come from a VERY sheltered home so i didn't start to doubt my sexuality until much later, like 16-17. I have to agree with you about the Bi-sexual thing, when I came out and said "I like guys AND girls" the immediate reaction from some of the lesbians in my school was "you have to chose one or the other, there is no such thing as being bi" which at the time was hurtful, but now that I am a little older and have gone to parties, I see why I got that reaction. Not that it makes it right exactly, but I understand were they are coming from.

It may be hot to you and other people as well, but what that person is getting at is that regardless if it is hot or not, two guys kissing is gay. Whereas two girls kissing, they are not automatically considered gay. And that they are just doing it for the attention or because its the "cool" thing to do. I'm a lesbian, and you're right, it is a very emotional thing to go through. It took me 5 years to figure out who I was. I turned 20 in June and about a month before I turned 18 I came out to my mom. From then until not even a month ago we fought, she treated me like shit, made me feel worthless, pushed me to attempt suicide, and told me I was an abomination to God; then in July, she kicked me out. All because of something I can't help, because I like women and not men. It's a shame...

I consider myself pansexual, because I can love anyone regardless of gender. I completely understand your point here, and it is true for many that they just do those things for not real reasons, but for me it is real. I don't like the fact that us bisexuals seem to be taken the less seriously out of all of this. I mean we're bashed by the straight community, and the lesbian community. I hate how all these girls just say they're bisexual, it makes it so much harder for people like me. They won't believe you, perhaps they'll laugh at you (then again that happens anyways).
