Awesome! I discovered Jackson Browne through the pages of Melody Maker magazine in a review of this album in 1974. That very evening I heard After the Deluge on the PA at a Yes/Gryphon concert in Newcastle City Hall and recognized it from the review! I bought the album and from the moment the opening licks of Jackson's piano and David Lindley's lap steel on Late for the Sky enveloped me in a kind of bliss, I became an instant fan for life. Only seen him once though, Hammersmith Odeon Sep. 1986.
Loved this video! How did you capture this? How much of the concert were you able to get? No problem with security seeing you taping it? I've always wanted to do this, but am afraid of getting caught. The back of the cameras light up so much, in a dark concert hall! I just saw Jackson in Sacramento last Wednesday, 3-2-11. What an amazing concert. He is definitely the most talented singer/songwriter ever! He is a true genius!
@sierrahiker53 We didn't get much of the concert on video. That's not what we want to do, just one or two songs to watch again at home. We were in Antwerp, when this was filmed. We had seats on a side balcony rather close to the stage, but rather 'private'. Not many people were able to see us. We don't use the screen on the back of our camera, just the viewfinder and we put our finger on a small light that's flashing while we're filming. Jackson doesn't like it when you're filming. ;)
Saw him at Starlight theater in August '10. Hadn't seen him for awhile, when my husband and I saw him in a thunderstorm at Sandstone theater back in the 80's..I remember he kept on playing even though the weather threatened...lightening and thunder and heavy rain! I enjoyed both concerts although the last concert it was 99 degrees and we were melting in the heat. My daughter was there with me...she bought the tickets.. She was 6 months pregnant with a little boy,We chose to name him Jackson!
Browne is so amazing because he's dedicated. You know he means what he says. at his R&R Hall of Fame induction ceremony Browne even said it takes him a long time to be happy with what he write and nothing is released until he;s satisfied with it. He may not be very well known but that shows hes in it for music, not money
@Eeohippus Thanks for the compliment! We're just filming with an ordinary photocamera, but we're also very happy with the quality of the video's it makes.
We were sitting on the side balcony, so we were very lucky there was hardly sitting anyone in front of us. Jackson Browne just is a great singer and a fabulous songwriter.
This is a timeless Jackson classic....I never tire of listening to this one. I met and married my wife to these words...and of course we got divorced.
Love is beautiful and painful and Jackson captures it all...
I was allowed to photograph his Lives in the balance tour.
It was fantastic!
