Really all of his movies are masterpieces in their own right. It's almost pointless to try to distinguish which masterpiece is more masterful. I was just most profoundly effected by Eyes Wide Shut.

I love all of Kubrick's films. Every time I watch them I notice something I never noticed before, or have a new, more nuanced perspective on the piece.

Oh, but it is. You see, Kubrick has played a joke on all of us with this trailer. Kubrick did advertise this movie as a seductive thriller, he knew what would draw people to his movie. You can relate this to Harford himself in the movie; drawn deeper into his exploration of forbidden sex, the orgy in particular. But, instead of being titillated, audiences were left angry and confused. Just like Harford. A powerful way to make a point. Somewhere, Kubrick is laughing from beyond the grave.
