Did you end up moving to Florida? I completely feel ya on after being there in MIA it was a whole notha experience. I'm gonna make the to Florida, I've been dreaming about it for 3 years... and if it takes a while longer to make it happen, I definitely want to go to FLORIDA! :D Miami area more likely. :D

I moved to Buffalo, NY from Palm Beach (Lake Worth) and it is the biggest mistake i have ever made. I love Florida and to this day I still call it home. Almost everywhere in South Florida is great and wont let you down. I am now in the USMC and hoping to move back to be a police officer down there. Good luck with your decision and your move!

@AspiringBlackLawyer Congratulations Keep it up and from someone who loves and lives Miami trust that you will have an amazing life there if you do it right,
I live in Orlando. Although there is a lot to do, jobs are scarce. I am a teacher, and I am blessed to have a job, but other industries outside of hospitality and tourism are struggling. Miami is definitely the place to be for fashion, fun, food, etc. I try to get down there every time I get a chance. I would probably move right outside of Miami, maybe Fort Lauderdale, and work in Miami.
SOOOO jealous lol glad u guys had fun! I loved spring break 05 on Ocean Drive! My sister and I been thinkin bout it esp. since my mom's side is from Tampa/St. Petersburg. I TIRED of the 717!@?! at least ur in Philly which is the only place worth visitng in PA IMO ; )
Miami is bangin! take your dog and GO!!!! i've been back n forth betwn Miami n greater Cleveland for 13 years (i ONLY come back to Ohio for family) i've lived all over Miami - South Beach included - i've lived in Jacksonville, Tallahassee & Ft Lauderdale 2 - but you seem like ur n2 the action like i am - so i'd definitely say go to MIA or live in Ft Lauderdale (if you want less culture shock lol) n split time in Miami.. ur a media/image person - sun palm trees n beaches will b perfect 4 that!
florida is great for the weather but remember it's a right to work state so it's definitely a crazy experience living up north and moving to the south. the laws are so different
i live in" Orlando" yeah baby! i love it. i been here all my life, nice people, (i likes the boys he he! ) great beaches, malls, disney, universal, six flags, all that stuff. Um i dont go out much at all but there's lots to do at night i believe. Just "please" make sure ya gets a J. O. B first. finding a place to stay for cheap is pretty easy if ya take ya time. The weather is just amazing on thanksgiving it was about 80 - 90 degrees i wanted to get in the pool, hope this helps peace!
i live in jacksonville fl biggest city. but not alot to do here to me im from here. im 2 hours away from orlando which has everything to do there every theme park u could imagine. im five hours from miami. my boyfrined wants us to move to
miami but its very expensive to live there. south fl is more expensive. i live in north florida. but it does get cold in fl its just ull have one day cold next day hot then next day rains but thats because were tropical.but u will like florida
I am originally from NY and now reside in Central FL (almost 4 yrs now) ... worse move ever ... I am lucky cause I work in a hospital but my hubby can't find a job anywhere ... Central Fl doesn't have much exciting ... from what I understand Miami is the place to be if you are looking for major city feel and opportunities. Research and make an educated decision. (SN: I love watching ur vids!!! Thanks for posting!!!)
@yenhpad I can so relate to your hubbie, I lost my job three years ago, all I can find is part time work. And stuck living with my father, which am sick off. I will do any thing to move back up north, if I can get someone to give me a job
Same here, Originally raised in Philadelphia. But I visit Florida (Miami) at least once a year... and I am considering moving down there July 2011... still a thought in process. New location, new change.. maybe it is a good idea..
@Tpindell2 lol.... thanks for watching and commenting... i might have to get a good recommendation vid from you about the area... i see you are always traveling here and there in florida making moves and hitting the spot.... give me the scoop
I live and have lived in Ft Lauderdale all my life. It's Great! In the middle of everyting. Hop, skip and a jump from Miami and just a 3 hr drive to Orlando (Disney). Night Life is Great here ... MANY options!!! There's the Sawgrass Mall, Ft Lauderdale Beach, Las Olas, Hard Rock and sooo much more!
Gald to see that you made it back safely. As for the move, make sure that whatever decision you make that you are truly happy. I haven't been on YT very long but I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge abouts locs and for expressing your feelings or concerns to us. You are truly an inspiration! I love your hair and your versatility. You go girl! Looking forward to more videos.
I FEEL YOU ON THIS ONE!!!!! I'm a New Yorker who moved to California and HATE it here in cali :( I was in MIA for memorial and again in october and loved it both time. I making plans myself to move out of California by April/May to the MIA.
P.S. my family are from Trinidad so like you and wouldn't be nothing to fly out there.
I lived in Fort Lauderdale for a year and Boca Raton for another year. Both are south Florida. Great clubs/ night life and fairly safe. Also have Ft. Lauderdale parade every summer.
i live in miami....homestead to be exact but thats not to far from south beach and west palm beach area, which is the funnest part of miami......any other cities in florida except miami is country is hellllll...lol.....daytona beach florida is nice, thats where i went to school....but miami is still the best
Really really do your research. yes florida is the hot spot for alot of events and great weather but that is about it. The cost of living and pay rates are not that well. I agree with those that mention living further north. It is much nicer. I live in coral springs and the housing up here are alot cheaper than miami area but in all reality the job opportunities and pay rates with a degree or without are not that great.
I live in Fl north of Miami and honestly the job opportunities in the central Fl area where I am are scarce. If u work in a call center, hospital,or have a high degree ur good or it could all be about who you know. I did hear u say u are a manager & they may have opportunities depending on what ur looking for. I think the Miami area will be a better move if u decide to move here based on the tourism & opportunities & ur fashion sense. Trust the weather makes the decision worthwhile also.
I leave in northern Florida, but I used to live in Orlando. I think Miami area or Tampa best fits your personality. You'll love it down there; its sunny, the beaches are near by (even though its not like the island beaches), and you are a lot closer to the islands. I just came back from a cruise Sunday, and we stopped in Bridgetown, Barbados. We took a tour and fell in love with the island, the people are well-coming, great culture, and beautiful scenic areas. It definitely makes me miss Jamaica
Girl you and me both! I've been saying for the past 3 years that i wanted to move to MIA, more so for the weather and change of scenery. But then lately i was thinking i wouldnt want to live in MIA since it is "the place to be" so i wouldnt want to live right smack in the middle of all that mayhem (lol, you know the party scene) so i was thinking Tampa or Orlando would be great spots to stay....
Born and raised in the MIA #305 and I've lived in Atlanta and St. Louis. And I gotta say aint nothing like sunshine during the winter months. lol. But I may be a bit biased, so ask transplants. But you would love it. Keep us updated!
I love both Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. I live in the Bahamas, but i go to Fl. pretty often. If there's nothing holding you and you really want to make a change you should go for it. Just continue to do some more homework. Your hairrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Had to get that in.
I'm from Florida and I stay in Ft.Lauderdale...I think it's best to stay in Ft.lauderdale because it's a bit cheaper than Miami. PLUS! Ft.lauderdale is only 20-30mins. away! and you get the best of both worlds. If you don't feel like driving to miami, it's a alot of things to do there also...but make sure you think things out! because as FLA has it's good side, it also has its bad side as well. so, it's either you can handle it or you can't.
I used to live in Florida and I'm moving back after I finish nursing school. I would suggest Ft. Lauderdale, Daytona, Orlando, Tampa, or Jacksonville. I lived in Jacksonville but I'm going to Tampa!! Good Luck with whatever choice you make. Keep making great vids! SN: your hair looks awesome! :) HTP
You should relocate no kids single and ready to mingle GO GO GO!!! I thought about moving to Florida as well (Ft. Lauder dale) close to Miami decent rent prices. Definitely secure a job 1st. Good Luck
I love your friends spirit! lol I live in Fort Lauderdale (20 minutes from MIA) so trust me it has its ups and downs! Its all about your circle of friends. I would be more than willing to help out if you need help real talk. I up an moved to NYC alone before and loved every moment! Hit me up if you need help!
I deadddddd...hahahaa @ you putting the lady on blast. Would she have rather been on a plane that end up being stuck on the tarmack or worse! At least you were able to be in a hotel. Now only if ya got stuck last month, you coulda enjoyed a lil carnival and wuk up!
Hey if you can get up and move..why not! Whatever your choice is, enjoy yaself miss.!
Your young do what you gotta do. How ever they say the grass is greener. My cousin relocated there for a few months, then relocated back to NY don't know why. Try and spend some time over there before you put your eggs in one basket. Peace.
