Lol in order for it to symmetrically fall into itself, all of the columns would have to completely fail simultaneously. There is absolutely no way gravity alone can pulverize concrete and steel girders while at the same time accelerating the building to near terminal velocity.

I didn't mean a conclusion from the calcs. What I should have said is from the video both of us seen different things.

I have not done any such estimates in my calcs. Most truthers claim that from conservation of momentum alone the towers could not have fallen at such a speed. I just did the calcs to check that claim. For the masses I assumed an arbitrary value of 1 for each floor as I have no constuction data and I believe its acceptable for an estimate. The mass would not vary significantly

10.546 seconds according to my calcs assuming no reistance with the only slowing factor being conservation of momentum. This equates well to your model which falls in about 11 seconds.

About halfway down the actual building it becomes impossible to say where the point of collapse is in this video. All we can be sure of is the entire event lasted 16-17 seconds.

Both of them done a more accurate assessment of the energy losses in the collapse and the most important part of their conclusion wasn't the time taken but the fact that a gravity driven collapse is perfectly capable of bringing the towers to the ground. The conspiracy of a controlled demolition is based on a ridiculous fallacy. Occam's razor. Even if it was an inside job why make it so complicated?

@Lifeisadeathmatch Actually kerosene can't melt steel at all regardless of how long it burns and it was all burned off after 1o mins anyway. However, it did ignite multiple fires on multiple floors. Fire would usually take a long time to spread from a single ignition source thus the timescale of collapse was reduced. The fires that did burn were hot enough to reduce the steels strength by as much as 50% and that coupled with the structural damage and loss of fire protection led to the collapse.

@Lifeisadeathmatch Also my point was that a gravity driven collapse can account for the collapse of the WHOLE building and thus explosives weren't needed either to start the collapse or to continue it down to the ground. Even if it was an inside job the most logical way to pull it off would be to just let the collapse occur naturally rather than force it and risk exposure. The crimes of the bush administration afterwards just prove they're opportunistic assholes!
