I have an extensive (100+) Victorinox SAK collection, but only recently picked up a Spirit X. Really looking forward to collecting all the SwissTool and Spirit variants. I find myself more leaning in preference to the original Swiss Tool because of the more traditional tools which seem to be almost identical to the 91mm lineup SAK's.
@IzzyJG99: Are you a member of MultiTool(dot)org? I would think you are but if not you should join. Enjoy the Vic MT's, they are my favorite and I own every MT Leatherman has ever made. I don't waste much time on BO or Special Edition MT's but I have with a couple of the Vic models.
@1jump2many I recently joined, actually. I was over at KnifeForums/SOSAK for years. But when I heard they got sold...I decided to make an account over at MultTool Org. So I am sure I'll see you there.
@wb5mgr: I collect them and have somewhere in the vicinity of 100. Compared to some members of Multitool(dot)org I'm a piker, :-) There are some members of MTO that have many many times the number that I have. Check out the forum, there is a lot of great info there.
it's a small world. i was digging your alcohol stove vids a while back and now i'm getting the spirit x soon so i thought i would see if there were any reviews on it i could watch. way to go.
Would you recommend a Leatherman charge TTI or a Victorinox spirit? I've held a leatherman charge tti and was quite impressed with it, but Can't find a local supplier for the spirit, so unable to make a hands on comparison. does the knife on the spirit lock as secure as on the charge? I'm leaning towards the charge because I like the fact that its screwed together rather than riveted, so It can be tightened should it work loose after time. Or is this not an issue for the spirit?
@SuperKotaa: I really don't like to recommend a specific tool to anyone because everyone has their own reason for a particular tool. I would recommend checking out multitool(dot)org for extensive reviews of both tools. They are a great site to get some in depth reviews on MT's. Good Luck.
@tendollarword: It has a snap. The leather is better quality than the sheath that you get with a normal Vic Spirit. It's still the same design though, it can only be warn vertically, if you want to wear it.
Good video, I really like that Coalverson spirit model, I think I will buy one. I have the Swiss Tool X model, and I like almost everything about it, except that the plierhandles are to wide, and that they pinch the hand a little.
@Reitbakk: Thanks. They call the handle material on the SwissTool Spirit RT Special Edition, anthracite. Anthracite is a type of coal. I suspect they just called the handle that name due to it's color not because of the material it is made from. If you see pictures of chunks of anthracite coal you see that it has shiny property to it. The handles aren't flat like BO (Black Oxide) handles, but more of a shiny black color with depth to it.
Thx for this helpful video!
Verry interesting

Great video. Does the special edition sheath close with velcro or a snap?
