Hi Shawnta. Your locs really look good. I remember watching some of your vids after you took your first set down with your loose hair. How long was it when you started this set? Next time I loc I would like to at least start retaining that length after shrinkage instead of them being short.
OMG! I haven't seen you in a while. You locs grew fast. They are way longer than I thought they'd be by now. you look great. I'll catch up on the vids I missed.
Liked the results - I also like the '50s hair salon' look when the rollers are in for some reason. I tied mine with a net scarf and hung out at home when I did them [quite a while ago now]. Had nice roller set results, like yours.
Very cute.... I have some steam rollers that I use from time to time when I want a loose bend... Also using my sponge rollers under the hair steamer gives me a similar look :)
Yaaay! SO glad that you are back sis! It's Natural Kinks :). Okay, I'm SOLD on these after seeing this and Quot's vid. I've never cared for curls on locs because they are too tight and perfect-looking for my taste and I like more of an organic look. THIS is it and has me wanting to try curls and the time is just a bonus. Will this work for me if I have well over 150 locs though? They are also about the length your first set was so I need all jumbo right? Thx for sharing :)
@Spirited76 I know what you mean about preferring this kind of curl. I've tried so hard to like pipe cleaner curls it's not even funny but ur ? is a toughy sis!!! My concern is with very long locs if the shield would hold especially if you are going to do more than one loc per roller. With 150 this could end up being a very expensive set. Also because of the length the steam may not get to the entire loc. I personally would do a pin curl set or flexirods if my locs were your length.
But I know those other methods take a lot of time. You could make it work if you probably started out with close to dry damp locs, steamed the roller really good and worked a section at time. You can also clip the rollers if the shield is not holding. It might take you closer to 3 hrs to do your whole head that way with the 30rollers but at least you are not sitting under a dryer for all that time.
@Shawnta715 I KNEW that you'd say this and that's why I wanted to get this question answered before I invested :( . Okay, I won't be doing curls as often as I thought then with a 3 hr time commitment (slowly feeling this option fading away) but should I decide to, what are pin curls exactly? I think that I know but just to be sure. I will google flexirods. Will I get the loose curl with these options? If not, then I won't bother. Thanks for the feedback and confirmation sis.
@Spirited76 I do my pin curls a little different then what I see most people do and it's all in how you roll the flexirods that determines how the curls look. If you hold out I could probably demonstrate both methods in a month time frame. When I do my curls like that I may keep them for 2 weeks, so if you let me know what method you'd like me to show first I will do a tutorial on that method this weekend.
@Shawnta715 K, I went out and bought the jumbo plus sponge rollers from Sallys before reading this. I have yet to try them though bc I'm kinda lost w even knowing which size to roll where. I realized that I haven't rolled my hair since high school & I'm in my mid 30s now lol. I would SO appreciate the demo :). Yes, I can certainly wait a month to see which method I may prefer. I'd like to see the pin curls first bc I can sleep in them. Thanks again immensely!
love the locs. Random question though.....is ur camera recersing he videos? Or r ur tatoos moving? lol

How old is this set of locs now?

@starlights13 January will be 2 years. I cut my locs often so their length is not a good judge of time.
