I love the bit at 6:20. So epic. Thank God for VSTi! If any of you guys are ever looking for some new gear, you should check out our StudioBLADE keyboard workstation. Its windows 7 powered and will run all of your favorite software and plug-ins!
you're awesome! I'm just getting into the digital music and am looking to buy either this package (incl keyboard) or just a keyboard. I'm just a little worried about how A Factory connects to programs like Reason. Any suggestions?
@DutchThroat It won't connect to Reason. You would need to get a host program like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar, Reaper etc. Hope this helps.
@DutchThroat Psst: "Works JUST fine in Reason." ... Make sure you set the "shared VST" directory to the same one you're using with Reason's VSTis, and you'll be set.
Not sure WHAT "retsofnalanosaj" was using as reference. . . cuz I surely just DL'd it and am using now.
@retsofnalanosaj "Make sure you set the 'shared VST' directory to the same one you're using with Reason's VSTis"
--That being the folder you have told Reason contains the VSTi's you'd like it to use. (It does come with a very limited one of its own, though, too).
Again, when installing the Arturia Analog Factory, it asks if you to specify your VSTi directory... do so and enjoy using the vsti within Reaper. Don't give others -bad- info when it comes to -good- free programs. -_-;
These are not samples, but emulations. This version has less control than their full versions, but the sound is still being created by the same emuations as the full versions.
Demo limitations, you cannot save changes, patches or ANYTHING in your DAW that uses the demo.
tomorrow the 3rd of may i go get my analog factory synth, korg nanokey, and lexicxon alpha desktop recording studio-cubase out of lay away...i'm into dark ambient dark synth but i don't know if should get it, the korg nano key and cubase are all confusing to me no one explains nothing right to me....i may get money back before i get it outta layaway! is korg nano key good? could i do dark ambient? like velvet cacoon's album "atropine" or leviathan's a silhouette of splinters......
Thanks for the demo, but I don't think you really understand what Analog Factory is all about. Its not a "sampler pack" of Arturia's other plugins, its something different altogether.
Arturia's other recreations are digital synths with digital oscillators trying to emulate classic synths.
Analog Factory, is a bank of ACTUAL SAMPLES from these classic synths, NOT digital re-creations.
Here, you are actually getting that 'analog sound' as opposed to the digital emulation.
@unkellsam@unkellsam In fact, these are not "actual samples" as you said. As I understand, Analog Factory uses same software sound engines which are used in their separate software emulators. So, when you play CS-80V sound in AF, you actually play with same sound engine which is used in their CS-80V emulator, with restriction of editing just few parameters, instead of all available in that emulator. I found that info somewhere on Arturia's site or their AFE manuals.
@Zokimaster Yeah I stand corrected. That kinda defies the whole point of emulating an analog sound. Is there anything out there thats based on real analog samples which lets you do some tweaking??
i had one......... not a lot of control im afraid......... and a LOT of 'junk' you'll never use......... not every patch is available to parameters...... sometimes speed intesities dont respond.... other patches dont respond to certain parameters.... which is totally frustrating. for the same money you can buy better.
You need a controller (keyboard to plug midi cable into), and a program that can use VST plug ins with such as Ableton (what torley uses) or fruityloops studio (like me).
Most modern piano keyboards have USB out instead of MIDI now. But if you have an older one you'll need a MIDI cable and some way to plug that into the computer.
Great demo!
