  • bwwueuwewwwhhuuattt???

  • He made all that song and dance, and then didn't ask to see the hand that angle-shot?!

  • that ruling was INSANE!!!!! DID THAT GUY EVER PLAY POKER!!!!!!

  • This is so fucked up.... a couple of years ago I actually did this and the dealer said that I had to bet it all when I tried to remove half my stack( I was bluffing and got cold feet). Luckily the other player did'nt call but if he had I would have lost alot more and this was just at a public poker table. I learned my lesson but I got very lucky, just as Losev.

  • 2:20 no that you can not do 2:35 completely contradicts himself

  • Why didn't he reraise then? maybe he would have won the 1,5 million back.

  • i wonder if one day the felt will have line markings and zones where you keep your stack to avoid this

  • @martaman01 thats not the point. the point is that people can get a read when they fake their push, which is considered an unfair advantage. if theres a line there you can still fake

  • nigger always there for an opinion

  • Lol, all that controversy and Cantu forgot to raise.

  • that was an awfull ruling

  • That was a clear forward motion, you canno't do that, tha black guy give an excellent example, he can push all in but if he doesn't release the ships then it's not a bet according with the tournament guy.

  • That's forward motion, you can't do that! It is a form of cheating! Hustler's in casinos do that so they can see the reaction of their opponent then put it back after a good read! And even Losev did not release the chips, he did not say "Raise" at all! It is automatic "String Bet". Terrible ruling in the world series of poker...

  • sooo the extra 1.5 mil was the rest of the guys stack or the rest of the stack of chips he was pushing?

  • @kokoth Just the rest of the stack he pushed out originally.

  • Bad ruling. Most every casino has a rule as to what I will call a "point of no return" line for where you can place your chips when making a bet whether you release the chips or not. Whether this player had an intention of misleading his opponent or not, we will never know, but there's not a casino anywhere that I have played at that would not have called that a legit bet

  • pussys, pussys everywhere..

  • /watch?v=p-JlaDAWpNc&t=12m25s

  • I think he should have folded. IMHO :)

  • If he wanted the extra 1.5 mil why not raise, he's a wuss

  • @coreycunninghamkarl well its not like Losev would for sure call.

  • @samueljue Yeah but the 1.5 was in the middle already, there was no reason for the flat call, he was obviously afraid of aces full. I just don't understand why he wants Losev's chips in the middle but won't raise with a full house!

  • @coreycunninghamkarl He's probably willing to call the 3 million, but doesn't want to raise because he doesn't want to risk having to go all in.

  • @coreycunninghamkarl

If cantu raises then he reopens the action allow losev to reraise allin. By losev betting 3 mill it allows cantu to call and if he's ran into AAAJJ then he's still in the tournament

  • @tr34187 True true

  • @coreycunninghamkarl Because his 88 was beat by A4, A8, or AJ - and those are a big part of Losev's range.

  • I dont understand this ruling at all! First what's the difference between him puching his stack and the black dude puching his stack?! second, Candio did the same thing in 2010 by moving chips forward but didnt let go, but was forced to call!

  • @eddie1783 In that instance the dealer was wrong to force him to call. It really is house rules which govern bets being forward motion or release. This is the correct ruling, the TDs however shouldve given a warning to Solev and then a penalty if he continued to do this as this could result in an angle shoot. The Rio casino however state that it is the release of ones chips which constitute a bet.

  • That's probably the worst ruling I've ever seen. The director said it was clear cut.... but it's clear cut the other way. I like how he said Carroll couldn't do what he did... but it's different because the stack was smaller. Absolutely stupid.

  • stupid ruling should have defeinetly been a full stack bet that is an angle if ive ever seen one

  • I do not agree with the ruling. He went out just a little too far with it. If he did not intend to bet that much he should not push the chips forward at all

  • And that dude in the Laker jersey needs to shut the fuck up. He's not even in the hand. That's another thing I can't stand. Players who butt into hands they aren't even in.

  • I can't stand when players whine over technicalities. It might have been a string bet, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

  • good decision..if you don't let go it doesn't count...

  • good decision..

  • why not?

he could be dancing if he wanted...!

  • dont get it, you want more chips then raise his bet.

  • @vplof It isn't that simple. He's only got the 6th nuts, Losev pretty much needs a full house to call a raise, and all but one full house beats Cantu. Since Cantu checked, it means he didn't put Losev on very much and wanted to give him a chance to bluff. But he also probably feels that a raise will mostly only get called by a better hand.

  • in new zealand and aussie we have a line on the felt if your chips or cards go over this line they are counted as in the middle. That was a bad slip up in the vid though prob a internet player (no pun intended)

  • brandon cantu is a fucking pussy

  • cantu and carol, what a pair of pussys. the most childish poker argue ive ever seen.

  • @brunoproducer

Yeah, it's childish to argue when someone just did something technically illegal and should have given you hundreds of thousands of dollars more than you got for it. Get a clue. Correct or not, you're questioning these guys for making a legitimate argument.

  • There is no line when u play at wsop moron if u push chips out like that it should of been a string bet if u gotta pull ur chips that far back to recount ur bet it's obv string

  • It would be cool if he just folded after making that big theater:D

  • i did non udesrtand who is cantu and who is his oppo?

at the emnd who has 88..so we win??

the same man do that orrible action with his hand??

    let me know pleaZe

and sorry very much for my bad òanguage i a n italian stupid guy

    lol

  • @luctec the winner of the pot didnt do the illegal action... but he wanted the string bet to be forced to get more chips off his opponent

  • lol thats not a bet it didnt even go past the dealer button. So i guess when i shuffle chips out in front of my cards those chips r in the pot????

  • @muckemsayuhhh18 its not so much about the area, but about the motion and manner in which he pushed the stack forward

  • You could really penalise the player for possible angle shooting rather than calling it a string bet.

  • Well technically I have to agree with the Tournamnet Director, I dont think it was a string bet IMO. The reason being is because the player didnt say how much he was going to bet bbefore putting the chips in and also he did not release his chips. If he released his chips and then put all those 100,000 chips in more then one motion releasing each time, then that is a string bet. Depending on the house this would not be the case however if he had stated the amount before doing so.

  • i heard in america there is no such thing as a string bet? so you can do what you see players doing pushing stacks forward then cutting them down and taking chips back. Even without announcing the size of their bet. Is this true for all casinos?

  • back to the hand, why no raise?!!?!?

  • 1:24 so I can do one of these?

  • @Falke21 If you don't release them, apparently so.

  • bad ruling.. but i dont like cantu either :)

  • @spooky0834 while this is true, you gotta agree that its his fault that he doesn't speak language of the country he is going to.

nevertheless those 2 guys were an assholes, you can clearly see it, cant you?:P

  • Terrible terrible ruling

  • @bestpokercoach agreed but the rest of the players needed to STFU especially Michael Carroll

  • I love that black guy.

  • Yup, that was a stringbet!

  • bad ruling. Filipio candio had to put in the bet doing the same thing. Did they just change the rule since then or something?

  • dont need to speak english to understand poker etiquitte and body motions

  • Awful awful ruling. He contradicted himself instantly.

  • @spooky0834 he didnt need to .. he broke the forward motion rule .. he knew what he was doin

  • @kookoon Yeah, but in a chess tournament, if you touch the piece you still have to move it. How does that fit into your analogy?

  • I agree that the ruling is not a good one but stfu Mike Carol, Its got nothing to do with you.

  • kinda stupid rule, he didn't release the stack of chips so that's not really a bet.

is like when you play chess, once you pick a piece you can't release it but you can do kinda whatever you want and once you release you can't change your mind.

  • @kookoon its unsportmanlike. in many sports you can go things within the rules but are still in poor taste. players can move chips forward to see how their opponent reacts, and then change the bet accordingly. its not good sportsmanship

  • @latinasdoitbetter1 That is why TD's would issue a warning or a possible penalty in this situation. What you have just mentioned is angle shooting. As a TDA member I agree with the ruling as it is by the book as harsh as it is.The fact that both TD's did not issue either of those disciplinary procedures amazes me, however it was the correct ruling.

  • poor guy

  • Gangsta rapper wasn't even in the hand. STFU.

  • @spooky0834 ROFLMAO!!!! Then this moron should learn some english before going to the WSOP!!! What a slimey try

  • @Olpher1 its kinda difficult for him to do that.

  • this floor judge is a fucking idiot. he told the black guy that he can't push his stack in and pull it back, but then he says its ok for the other guy because he didn't release??? NEITHER DID THE BLACK DUDE BUT YOU SAID HE CAN'T DO THAT

  • @cigco8834

Haha... Kk I'll hook you up my full tilt poker username is yoaco8741 =D

    And its true

Full Tilt just revealed on their facebook fan site that a new player can now head on over to their web page, then make an account usin the code AMERICAS.

I think it's the best way for a beginner to start off.. They will DOUBLE your 1st deposit plus multiple other sexy perks. It's limited to the first 4500 people that create an account usin this

  • @NegreanuDan33 Hey "yoaco8741" how come your ID doesn't show up on PTR????

  • why is that fcukin nigger speaking ? that hand did not concern him .. he just wanna be on tv

  • why no raise from cantu?

  • @hodenbacke55555 Becasue he figures he's only now going to get called by a hand that beats him.. Cantu never value raises AQ or AK there, so Losev or w/e wouldnt call with anything except JJ or higher boat..

  • hahahha losev didtn say anithing hes just like WTF:D

  • i wouldnt have flipped my cards till 20 tourney directors told me this bs ruling was still standing. These Europeans do this sht at my local casino, they use sneaky word play as well like sayin, 'so you want a CALL?, and basicaly whisper the first part while sitting next to the dealer and make sure the word 'call' is well heard.

My friend fell for this and got kicked out of the casino because he wouldnt relent, they play dumb as soon as the heat drops on their scam just like this guy

  • @spooky0834

So he had to learn or go home ! What is this hä? If i cant speak with the other players or with the floormens what i want there? He should go play Online not Live !!!!

  • babys playing poker

  • Caroll = Chris Tucker ^^

  • what the fuck does carroll talk bullshit, he is not even in the hand, let this between cantu and losev, i think its more like an american vs russian thing than a real poker thing

  • @spooky0834 flush ur ass

  • horrible ruling especially if you see what happens fillipo candio this year on like day 8,down to about 20 players.

  • who cares if he let go, frankly? he made a very significant forward motion

  • @pingadomulatinha he knows...

  • wat a slimey move by that foreign piece of shit

  • @spooky0834 wtf hes the one that broke the rule hahha

  • @Element1516 he didnt break anything,if you see the whole video he has right

  • there should be a betting line on the tables, to save these issues

  • @Astrithor Precisely. That's one of the main things I don't understand abuot the WSOP; no betting line. Maybe it's because there are SO MANY chips placed on the table...?

  • @JDLupus maybe, but thats honestly no excuse. make larger denom chips, larger tables, or a betting line that leaves room for the chips. these kinds of calls are stupid

  • @Astrithor Agreed, it's certainly no SOLID excuse. Betting lines makes actions FAR less ambiguous and would prevent a lot of arguments. Each year of the WSOP, great as they may be, are plagued with stories of inconsistent rulings on the floor.

  • @furtron2485

Nice, Okay I am gonna hook you up my FTP ID is zartel6929 =D

    And yeah

I discovered on the Full Tilt Poker blog last thursday you can currently create an new account on their website using the code SPECIALS 1 thing though you cant currently have a account currenlty on their site.Great way to get fast free $ to play with. They will double your first deposit + a couple other important perks. Sucks but it's only going work for the first 1000 people that register with this

  • well with that ruling carol is right,he could push his entire stack in so long as he doesnt let go

  • cantu and carol are stupid douches!

  • why is the black did trying to join the argument..?

  • the nigger is like the typical negro hahah

reminds me of Chris Tucker in Rush Hour

  • that uppity nigger didnt help anything

  • heres my take. although he makes that move, he does put his next bet more commited. also, its heads up. How bout if he cuts out chips in the same area, then stacks them, and then, moves it forward. If Cantu was really smart, instead of smartass, he woulda min raised and accomplished whatever he was trying to accomplish!

  • @wptcrazyman thats true, but then cantu isnt sure if he has the best hand. If he raised and then the guy reraised allin. Then you putting yourself in a bad situation.

  • by this same ruling, could he have put his whole stack forward like that and then checked, or are they saying he can put his stack forward and just change the amount? either way this ruling makes no sense.

  • tards why are u people making it an english american argument .... fact is he pushed his stack forward that should be a bet doesnt matter if he let it go ..... but the idiot cantu didnt reraise I dont know what hes afraid of he could have won more money

  • @akmd114379 woulda been hilarious if Cantu insta-called WHILE THAT WHOLE STACK WAS PUSHED FORWARD, could the Russian pull them back and then put the minimum bet in the middle? I doubt it, Jack Effel, get your rule interpretation straight. As G.O.B. Bluth would say, COME ON!

  • Well anyone who says it's not fair he can't defend himself, that doesn't matter. The tournament rules state that only English can be spoken at the tables, so he has joined up to this tournament and should be aware of that.

  • @074Jesse It doesn't surprise me that you don't know who that 'Nigger' (as you put it) is. Mike plays high stakes, unlike the 1 cent/2 cent tables that can't beat.

  • @074Jesse lmfao

  • @074Jesse Whahahahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • @adamasagex your an ignorant fuck and should have your asshole ripped open

  • @fiodeen lmfao

  • i think the guy just got confused about the amount that he wanted to bet , no bad intentions . but the ruling should be more clear or a line made like most casino tables.

  • I agree with "Rein" there is usually a line to cross which indicates the intention of a bet, because these places are so loud at times, and they record every move on camera above, so the line is used to indicate your intentions of a bet. If there is no line on the table, then the player has to "RELEASE' his chips by letting go once pushed forward. So by the camera view then you know what his bet is, there is no confusion.

  • @074Jesse You do know that he is a high stakes cash game player?

  • It's "english only" at the tables - NOT "american only". if a player doesn't speak english with "english only" rules, tha'ts his problem.

BTW: That was a horrible ruling. There's usually a betting line at poker tables to prevent players from doing what losev did. There was none, so they went by where the button was placed, which is ridiculous.

  • @ReinRamm That isn't exactly true, the line is only there as a guide for players and dealers, chips moved over that line dont automatically become part of the pot. I agree this was a terrible ruling but having a 'bet-line' isnt the way to go as it can get pretty vague, that's why the forward motion rule was created in the first place. Intention is at the discretion of tournament directors in every situation and this was pretty clear cut, they just made the wrong decision.

  • @chambod That's completely the opposite to how it works in the casinos I've played at; the action line IS binding in these casinos and in my opinion that is the best way to remove all doubt. Of course, the action line would have to be pretty large to fit the number of chips they have going in the WSOP.

  • thats why you put a betting line on tables.

  • @coldpizza110 I was just thinking about the same thing .. A betting line would have solved that problem .. Horrible ruling though ..

  • Ivan Demidov from the other table should come in and translate for his fellow russian

  • Then, you haven't seen much poker, go watch some Phil Hellmuth and Tony G videos.

  • why didn't cantu just re-raise him to 3 million if he was that confident about his hand?

  • @FordieMUFC true.

  • Comment removed

  • @FordieMUFC ROFL "confident"??? There was AJx on the flop and 2nd Ace by the river. AJ was VERY MUCH within the range of his opponent, since he was holding 88 the almost minimum fullhouse, and AK or AQ would not likely call his raise so a call was his only option. He was worried that the ruling would say he would have to call 3million instead of 1.5million, but he realized the table NEEDED to know for sure the ruling for betting.

  • kindergarden...

  • a bit but they are playing for a HUGE sum of money, I would get a ruling there

  • Was there any further clarification on this "rule"?

  • whey didnt he just raise on the river with a full house, instead of hoping for losey to raise, but ya, terrible call by the official

  • @TheGuardians23 If Brandon would have bet there, the other guy probably would have folded since he didn't have anything and he wouldn't have gotten that extra million out of him. With all of that money in the pot, and knowing he had the best hand, checking on the river was the correct call there to get the most out of him.

  • lol

    1. he didn't have the best hand ...

    2. "the other guy didnt have anything" - how about A-K

  • @hugzy14

    1. By "best hand" I don't mean the best possible hand ever. I meant between the two of them. Since Brandon called with it and won, I'm assuming his hand was better than Losev's.

    2. He had AK? Show me.

  • "he didn't have anything" - show me

  • @hugzy14 You take everything so literally. Just calm down.

  • because a raise opens him up to the possibility of a reraise, which someone would only do with the AA, AJ, or JJ, all of which beat him. There no point in trying to get a little extra value for your full house when it could mean getting moved in on and losing your whole stack.

  • he didnt let go and it didnt pass the bet line (dealer button) so the ruling was fair

  • bad ruling

  • im more surprised why cantu didnt raise. With 8s full of aces, I think theres a good chance that he had the best hand.

  • At 2:13 .. why did the director say that he couldn't do that, then immediately after he ruled in favour of the guy who did just that??

Only difference is cantu didn't snap call before the guy had a chance to bring it back...but that ruling still allows for people to be exploited. Retarded ruling....

  • very strange ruling. i always thought once you motion your chips into the centre then thats a bet. when players go all in sometimes they dont touch their chips, merely make a signal that theyre all in. this guy signalled that he wanted to play the full stack by pushing them into the centre, so that should be the bet, irregardless of whether he let go of them or not

  • LMAO so bad at "my country spent years developing the language"

    Bad decision by the director...

  • WOW!... that was a terrible rule.. i feel you brandon

  • you know... the language is called english, not american... and dont u think thats a bit racist huh? pathetic what the world is coming to...

  • wha..? you really don't think that what you said isn't a bigoted comment?

  • With that argument i believe you can´t go to any country (except UK and Canada) - maybe i'm wrong and you're polyglot. That's pathetic!!!

Your country didn't developed any language. You speak english! The real american language is spoke by the native americans - you were "found" in 1492. Do you think you have a great history? In Europe we have toilets older and with more history than you.

  • right... i wonder if uve ever been to europe.

  • You do realize this is called the WORLD series of poker, and not the AMERICAN series of poker, correct?

  • @kaze588 you do realize it is held in AMERICA and the official language of the US is enlgish, correct?

  • @adamasagex you do realize that AMERICA doesn't have an OFFICIAL language, right? English is just the accepted / National language of America

  • @kaze588 rofl you do understand that in virtually EVERY poker room in Canada/USA the rule is "English only at the table when a hand is in play" right? There's a reason -- being an "American" game (adapted from a French game, "Poque") and being a primarily English-speaking player pool, there's gotta be a standard for language, especially to prevent collusion.

  • @kaze588 yet this event is only based in America. Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. English only bud.

  • @kaze588 America isnt the only place english is spoken kid.....

  • screwed up WSOP official

  • haha he cant speak english

  • TD never explained why Carroll's example would not be allowed. So you can push a stack out and pull it back, but you can't do the same with a bigger stack? Seriously, WTF?

  • can someone explain to me why it made a difference that he put the chips out then brought them back in?

  • aside from the ridiculous ruling, my question is why didnt cantu raise on the river?

  • He didnt want to guy to shove the river but he thinks hes good so he wants more in the pot to call, not to give option to re-raise back to the other guy.

AJ, A4, and A8, beats him still.

  • Carroll has no right to be in the discussion. It should have been the TD, dealer, Cantu, and Losev thru an interpreter.

Carroll was just trying to get himself some camera time.

  • if the dude was smart he should have raised him 1.5 mil

  • The thing is at this point Cantu was pretty sure he had the best hand but he didn't want to reraise because he was afraid that Losev would push all-in and he would be in a tough decision for his tournament life (or most of his stack ). That way he can only lose the amount of money he calls if Losev has Jacks full, Aces full etc.

  • i like the way caroll pulling the stack to the middle than back and than only one chip lol
