in fact, i think you will find that the bible has "stood the test of time -- unchanged". and it has lasted longer than the Qur'an with less changes. Lots of people like to say that the Word has been distorted by frequent translations. However, i think that if you actually do some research (as i have.) you will find that there have been only a few re-translations, and all of them convey the same exact message with all the same meanings, literal and figurative.
*ahem* excuse me. It would be incorrect of me to say that "all" new translations of the bible have the same meaning and such. What I meant was to say that the most widely used ones do. (KJV, NIV, The Message, NKJV, ect.)

I don't consider it wasting my life. I enjoy watching YouTube videos in my free time. I also enjoy challenging the religious beliefs of others which may have been installed as a child and never legitimately questioned otherwise.

Not to argue with any of your previous points but just to clarify; there seems to be some confusion about the difference between 'knowing' and 'believing': In terms of philosophy, atheism does have to do with belief but not with knowledge.
Atheists do not necessarily believe there is no God. They just don't believe in a God. I know that sounds confusing but there is a difference in:
1. Believing there is not a God.
2. Not believing in a God.
The first one means you are 100% sure there is not a God. The second means you just don't think the idea of a God has enough merit to be viable. A true skeptic could never tell you they are 100% sure there is not a God. If they believed that atheism would be a religion, which it isn't.

Jesus was a REAL PERSON, he WAS BORN. This is not be just believing in jesus, it is an actual fact. Even if I was atheist, I would still believe this because jesus WAS ALIVE. And there is truth at every corner of his existence, many people just choose to believe its a coincidence.
Even if we assume that Jesus was a historical person, that does not make the Bible true. Even our historical evidence for that is bad -- the best proof for him existing coming from things like the crucifixion (the idea that Christians would not have departed from the Jewish idea of the messiah and wrote about Jesus being killed as a criminal).
Is the Qur'an is true because of some evidence for a historical Muhammad? We have a far stronger historical case there.

of versions you gave are also just the Protestant ones. Why do you think there are so many KJB(1611)-only people? One quick search
pulls up the "mess" of The Message in their eyes. You've been told wrong and should do some less biased research. Find me some of
those changes in the Qur'an you mentioned. They were smart enough to destroy those LONG ago.

Atheists do not necessarily believe there is no God. They just don't believe in a God. I know that sounds confusing but there is a difference in:
1. Believing there is not a God.
2. Not believing in a God.
The first one means you are 100% sure there is not a God. The second means you just don't think the idea of a God has enough merit to be viable. A true skeptic could never tell you they are 100% sure there is not a God. If they believed that atheism would be a religion, which it isn't.

there are alot of things in life that point to god, like life itself. how do you explain love and beuty all those are things of god and is there you have to open your eyes and see him he loves you even if you dont "beleive" god loves you and he always will, why else would he die for you?

Hey Becca... life, love, beauty, these only show evidence for life, love, and beauty. You're simply taking anything that we consider to be "good" and adding an extra step to associate it with a god. Then trying to use that as some evidence for that god.
If you're talking about Jesus, what you just said is a story. You're just basing your beliefs in the hope that this story is true, not on evidence that it is. Muslims die for their god, does that mean Allah exists as well?

You seem smart, you aren't arrogant, and dont believe the first thing you hear. While I respect that, I dont think you are correct in saying there is no proof of the bible being true, ect.
Jesus was a REAL PERSON, he WAS BORN. This is not be just believing in jesus, it is an actual fact. Even if I was atheist, I would still believe this because jesus WAS ALIVE. And there is truth at every corner of his existence, many people just choose to believe its a coincidence.

Even if we assume that Jesus was a historical person, that does not make the Bible true. Even our historical evidence for that is bad -- the best proof for him existing coming from things like the crucifixion (the idea that Christians would not have departed from the Jewish idea of the messiah and wrote about Jesus being killed as a criminal).
Is the Qur'an is true because of some evidence for a historical Muhammad? We have a far stronger historical case there.

I just don't believe in a book, of which the first part was written 3000 years ago for a small tribe to have rules for defense and reproduction. and the second part became through the ages a fairytale about the person today known as "people's best friend". well, if you wanna believe in this, feel free. but don't blame me to do.

I was up at Christian camp playing for a worship band and a counselor showed me this video. My buddy and I asked Opie if you guys "hardcore Christians" had anything funny. He pulled this up and my buddy and I laughed our asses off. My God, we almost pissed ourselves...he was so happy, he didn't realize was we were laughing at him or any other stupid fucking Christian who might laugh at this. The only thing gayer than this would be two gay guys fucking each other in the ass while watching this.
