I love Emmylou, she is my musical hero! However I find this one particular tune a little too close to pop-country. Maybe a "typical" direction for the early nineties to blend in with the growing popularity of pop-country music. Thankfully "blending in" is generally not Emmylou's style, and I so am grateful she took a left turn after this and made "Wrecking Ball!"
I like the (official?) version of this. The one with the video that was on CMT when it first came out. I wish someone would post that one, but this one is pretty good too.
I absolutely loved this song. I think "Cowgirl's Prayer" was a fabulous record from Emmy right before she took a left turn with the superb "Wrecking Ball."

Definitely not your usual Emmylou--and Sam Bush, playing (bottleneck?) electric guitar!
I don't mind a change of style and pace, but I can't say I liked this tune.
