its so true! my cat strumbie goes wild for the paper ball just as much, if not more than anything i could've paid money for. also, i took a stick from a busted set of horizontal blinds. then i found an old wooly knee sock that had holes in the toe. i cut the bottom of the sock into long strips, tied the other end to the blinds-stick, and now its a pliable, but sturdy 'cat fishing' whipstick, which she loves, and cost me only items i would've trashed.

Love that! I'm a fan of homemade toys. I'm always trying to find ways to keep my kitten occupied without it costing me a great amount of money. As soon as I tossed the paper ball her way she went nuts.
