  • Hey, guys... do you notice that a few tracks from Inception OST [2010] by Hans Zimmer and this one from Síðasti bærinn [2004] by Kjartan Sveinsson sound alike?

  • Beautiful!

  • i heard just some few songs from sigur rös , but i liked every...so this is it ;)

amazing music & thnx for sharing !

  • dude this song is to Kjartan Sveinsson not to sigur rós :)

  • @mugre2008

Exactly that is written in the info! :)

BTW - he's a member of Sigur Rós band.

  • [If anyone is looking for this song, they have it released as a free download on their Soundcloud page. ]

What a brilliant piece of work... I have never heard anything like it. I would love to hear more by Kjartan Sveinsson.

    Great slideshow! ♪

  • same one from "the last farm"

YES!!!!! i found you o passionite song lol

  • ... and deleted your comment to Sigur Rós - Síðasti bærinn.

I copy it here so you can post it again:

So this is one of my favorite pieces ever, but i can't find anything else composed (played?) by just sveinsson. I'm thirsting for more. Can anyone point me in a direction where I can find more of his stuff? And yes, I already have everything by sigur ros and jonsi.

  • @logues85

Did you look for Kjartan "Kjarri" Sveinsson under the pseudonym "The Lonesome Traveller"? Did you listen to band Fanfarlo, Sigur Rós friends?

    BTW, thanks for the comment!

  • i agree with you ^_^

  • This was in Ondine?

  • i discovered sigur ros because i like a girl that likes this group, but i think its fantastic

  • i found out about them because a guy i like really likes them too. i dont have the balls to tell him though.

regardless, this song is absolutely beautiful

  • Haha, sing to her "Thank You Girl"! (Song by The Beatles, though). Já, beautiful band... Both of them.

  • I dl'd this song straight from Sigur Ros' website. Absolutely love this song. Listened to it on repeat through 2 books so far. I also like to write while listening to it.

  • anyone have this album? i tried downloading it from a website but it came in a .rar format and i don't know how to extract the files!

  • 7-zip and IZArc are programs I use to open rar files. they both work well. :)

  • Anyone else think the song "Fly" by Ludovico Einaudi is a blatant rip of this song?

The NBA is using it in their new commercials and upon hearing it I thought it was just a piano version of "Síðasti bærinn", but apparently someone else is claiming to have composed it. The openings are eerily similar. Search for it in Youtube and tell me what you think...

  • Mate, get over yourself. "Someone else" is Ludovico Einaudi, a famous composer who's been writing music since before Sigor Ros were born. The openings of both songs are similar but there are a finite number of notes and chords and its not that uncommon for 2 songs to sound alike. Hardly a "rip off". Take a chill pill and enjoy the music.

  • I immediately thought the same and tbh, it pisses the hell outta me cuz that other S*&#! is so far inferior compared to this beautiful and moving song. It's the most listened to song on my ipod 3k+

Everytime i heard that commercial, i wanted to vomit.

And the song is too similar to be just a coincidence. too bad we cant have it taken off air forever. it's a crime that people gotta listen to that.

    Peace,

    JA

  • glodis54, I love this song; I've never heard of this group before; utterly amazing! Thanks so much for putting this up; your video is stunning - the scenery is so beautiful. I love to discover new music and this is sure to become a favorite.

  • you just discovered sigur ros?

its the best discovery you will EVER make in your lifetime.

  • Sigur Ros did this song for a short film which was nominated for an Academy Award called "The Last Farm". I can't remember if it won or not.

  • This band is my life ^_^ this song is so different from their usual piano based songs but still has the same chilling effect =]

  • I wish I knew. I think I got this song from their website a while back. I kept this song on repeat while I read the entire Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore. Perfect song for reading.

  • it will be amiina playing this wont it? Sigur ros dont play violins

  • I think Kjartan did all the arrangements. Regardless, beautiful song and poetic. Conveys a lot more emotion than song with lyrics or singing.

    :)

  • From what album this song is?

  • nice video i wanted to do the samething with another song
