For the last time: This movie isn't real, you stupid bastards. The movie is a faux semidocumentary. Serial killer Kendall Francois murdered 8 prostitutes in Poughkeepsie. The director, however, had never even heard of Kendall Francois until several weeks after the film had been fully completed. While the film may bare some resemblance to Francois' crimes, it is in no way "real," nor "based on a true story." Now shut the fuck up.

The movie IS out, dipshit. It was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007, and it's available for viewing and download both online. It's slated for a wide theatrical release in the USA some time in 2009. It is not meant to desensitize us, it is a story. The main character doesn't seem to be portrayed in a positive light, and I think the idea of using violence to scare someone shitless is the furthest thing possible from desensitization.

I do not find entertainment in watching torture, but I do find entertainment in stories, and this is an interesting story that involves a taboo such as torture.
