  • this is sick. serious skills :P

  • Incredible job. Thanks for offering the project file. You are a legend. I'll be doing the same with my files; it's a great way of sharing music.

  • @CrystalFissure I agree.. and you'll never know what you can learn from someone else.

  • Wow ;) Nice stuff :)

  • ...Oh, I didn't think a trip to heaven would be only 2 minutes long.

  • weird shit but sounds alrite !

  • would love to get a copy of it cheers Kj

  • very good but this explains nothing ...

  • Brilliant! Just for some i recomend Flange City for the intro and if you try it you'll see the similarity...other than that gd job keep it up! :D

  • fantastic stuff, well done!

  • good stuff. track is great. mixing on point. idea. arrangement. only complaint i have are those stock drums. you should really go crate digging for drums and replace them with the same midi and it will take it to a whole nother level.

  • Great effort man!

  • Awesome. Just awesome.

  • how long have you worked on it?

  • blatantly downloading the session file for this! literally blown away man - amazing job! thanks :) x

  • @HicksUTS haha np. That's what it's there for :)

  • it sounds like pacman fell off his bike!

  • @mrtingtong123 What? it sounds amazing for someone like deadmau5, and since when did pacman have a bike?

  • @psychosean7 since i gave it to him as a birthday presant

  • @mrtingtong123 Trying to get likes from that comment i presume...

  • @psychosean7 yes of course i did

  • This was great man, but it's hard to create it completely with just "Logic", cause if you have seen all the synthesizers and devices deadmau5 have, you will understand it ;)

  • Like, but kick is lame

  • @thorpe84 people can improve it sometimes

  • Thanks for putting this out there - great work!

  • How do you get to be able to do this? :) I am too a classically trained pianist, but I have always wanted to get into music production. The problem is, with Logic, I don't understand how to make all of these cool effects and stuff. What do you recommend?

  • i think urs sounds better than the original tbh nice work man

  • awesome dude!!!

  • HEYYYYY BRO I WOULD LOVE TO DOWNLOAD THAT SESSION IF POSSIBLE.. BUT THE LINK IS EXPIRED.. I REALLY WANT TO SEE HOW YOU ANIMATED THE BASS LINE..

  • @nandomusique thx bro for ur reply i will wait for ur links

  • wicked man , sounds well good :D :D really like it .

  • in the most non-assholish way possible...listen to this and then listen to the real "ghost n stuff" after and you'll notice they sound nothing alike :|

  • vsts for the win

  • Nice work!!! Logic Rocks! Ableton is more DJ Friendly but when it comes to producing music its Logic all the way in my book.

  • @nandomusique kindly can u give me a new link of the session this one not working

    regards

  • @MrDalyz You know.. I can't seem to find the original file.. I'll try to get it for you asap. Sorry :/

  • is this available for a download i have logic pro 9 ?? i would love to see how its all pieced together, i am currently trying to get started with music production and want to learn as much as i can really.. i struggle with finding / creating sample loops and chopping them up, also with finding decent sounding bass rifs

  • Sounds like canned shit ... people get so wrapped up in side chaining, buses, effects and all that nonsense and forget that they can do more with one track and a preset if they've got an ounce of musical ability than they can with all the junk that makes people believe they're actually doing something. You ever notice how most people who talk about techy stuff have no real clue what they're doing once you listen to their shit?

  • @loafpork What a troll... but I'll respond. First of all, I'm a classically trained pianist and guitarist and I have plenty of music ability. Having said that, head to my channel, click on facebook, and listen to my originals. My purpose here is to teach people from the basics. I find that trying to replicate a song that you like is a very effective method. That is why I offer the session for download. Side-chaining, buses, and effects are all an essential part of the production process.

  • @nandomusique Your other music sounds exactly the way I expected... thump thump thump thump.. no creative chords or progressions... it's just one big effect. That's why most of that club music is so boring, people think that the sequencer with all the new plugs-ins etc are an excuse for really thinking creatively about music, because it sounds so 'good' with very little effort. I know the importance of buses and effects, but most who only understand those things, don't know how to write songs.

  • @loafpork What did you listen to? Another Time is EXTREMELY progressive and even has live guitar and live piano playing on it. Third Person is the same. I Got Love is the only song I have that's like that. So, please, take your time and listen. Yes.. dance beats are thump thump thump... that's the point. If you prefer something different, go to my website (nandomusic doht neht) and listen to "Innervation". No dance music there. All ambient and progressive.

  • @nandomusique don't listen and fight with these posers on youtube.... they have no idea what they're talking about.... using presets defies personal characteristics in the sound...

your work is solid, obviously loafpork is not into dance music... so he should go to other channels if he has complains with the thump thump thump =)

  • @PaperTapeMusic Thanks for the kind words. I don't know why I even bother! :) Cheers!

  • @loafpork considering you have no songs posted yourself I dont think you're in any position to criticize this guy

  • @NJmetal94 Anyone can criticize.. does it mean that I'm correct? Not necessarily, ..everyone has their own taste. .. But everyone should be allowed to voice an opinion. I could do some cheesy dance music if I wanted... unfortunately, I'm fighting with the software so it doesn't sound canned. It makes it so easy to do that, and that's why you hear so much of this kind of stuff. Besides.. chopping up audio or creating my own is more fun than midi most of the time. I am in a position.

  • @NJmetal94 Be prepared to be criticized when you make your work public... besides.. I learn more from people shitting on what I do than blowing smoke up my ass.

  • @loafpork yeah I can agree with you there though personally I dont think this guy deserves to be criticized. But thats just my opinion

  • @NJmetal94 Well, sometimes I just get frustrated with my own fight with technology and look to youtube for creative inspiration and all I get when looking at people using logic.. is fucking club music. To me all that stuff sounds like muzak .. stuff you're forced to listen to when you're put on hold or something... weather channel. No feeling at all. Guy knows what he's doing with the tech.... but sometimes I'm not sure that's a good thing.

  • @loafpork its an acquired taste

  • @NJmetal94 Maybe... I like a lot of music based on this form.. like VNV nation which is basically a mix of all kinds of electronic styles.. but seems to be grounded in something resembling Trance and Club music, but the reason they're good is the fact that they write interesting melodies, vocal hooks, and meaningful lyrics. Other stuff like 'Hybrid', Depeche Mode.. all good stuff.. because they don't use the technology as a crutch... it's just a means to an end. /watch?v=Hf6MYwIxSlo

  • @loafpork PFFFFT. hehehehe VNV Nation. For one, it's retarded to compare VNV nation to Deadmau5, it's like comparing NIN to Daft Punk. Why bother, they're completely different genres. And VNV nation isn't "something resembling Trance and Club music" IT IS Trance and Club music. It's designed for cynical people on ecstasy who like this music because it makes them feel bad-ass. Get out of the 90s man. lol

  • @loafpork dude if you dont like club music GTFO and dont reply. haha i bet u will come back and say FYI I DIDNT SAY ALL CLUB MUSIC WAS BAD. either way great job by the artist on this page and it was very helpful.

  • @loafpork mr dumbass, please do better.

  • @loafpork LOL UR DUM

  • @loafpork what a dickkkkkkk

  • @loafpork Don't be such an ignorant dick

  • @loafpork If you really want to show people how to do what you're doing, why not make a demo?.. people aren't going to learn shit from this.

  • @loafpork I actually learned a ton from this. Having logic, and learning what buses and EQs create better sound quality is important. Learning from the compressors, noise gates, and etc. to create that "together" sound of all the instruments so they don't sound overlapping is extremely important when creating a song. This guy knows hat he's doing. If you didn't learn anything from it, that just shows your incompetence as a musician.

  • @BobbySiska There are no specifics involved .. if you learned something, good for you. To me it's just a ploy to show off and get others to listen to his music on his page. "If you didn't learn anything from it, that just shows your incompetence as a musician." .. heh heh, you don't know shit about me, nice try though, dumb ass.

  • @loafpork I agree with you, but in the case that someone does have a musical vocabulary, especially a jazz and urban music vocabulary, knowing about these technical details can add to their creative expression. Take Flying Lotus as an example of effects used artistically, or Atjazz. Rather than tear people down, I would recommend that people start collecting records and LISTEN to music deeply before making it. To the poster: look up Theo Parrish's house music and Red Bull interviews.

  • Ableton better then logic?

  • @seoulboi Not necessarily... just different. I just used all the original stuff that comes bundled with logic and no VSTs at all. I'm sure if I sued MiniMoog it'd sound even better but that's not the point of this tutorial. Not everyone can afford expensive plug-ins + daw.

  • Nice !

  • THIS IS AWESOME

  • Mate, great job. Thanks so much for uploading the logic file. I've been jamming along to it all day with my Virus Ti2!

  • sounds relatively close, its difficult to make it exact! try reason or ableton, reason has badass synths and ableton is semi-user friendly, i like reason... could help you acheive a little bit more accurate sounds but good none the less!!!

  • Wow haters. Thank you for making the logic file available. Great work. Ableton over logic? Really? LOL

  • @scottquick100 lol Seriously.

  • Hey nice attempt I'm not mad at it. For laughs you should have sung the song

and did the Rob Swire yell. BUT IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII JUST WANT TO PLAY IT RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

  • @maxiandroll Unfortunately, that doesn't come with Logic nor is it part of a Logic template. I made that bass using what Logic thinks a Moog samples like :/

  • Comment removed

  • Hop on some Ableton ya noob

  • @SoapieScot The whole point of this tutorial is to recreate Ghosts N Stuff WITHOUT using Ableton. It was done using a built-in Logic Template. Cheers.

  • Real nice

  • You guys have no clue how hard it is to produce this! THIS IS AMAZING!

  • the main bass and mod do kinda suck but this production rocks

  • The bass sucks!

  • this is sick how you do that and where?

  • Sounds Sick, the only thing is the drum kit sounds a lil weak because Logic's kits SUCK ASS for producing electro. Still sounds amazing tho nice job.

  • @norwaysfinest88 LOL absolutely. I tried.

  • I thought this was a tutorial :(

Well it was very good and really close to the original

  • this is a fucking disgrace to ghosts n stuff ... owww my ears

  • This is really really good!

  • ooh poor moog what have you done? :(

  • Thanks for the .zip link!

Makes it that much easier to get up close and personal with it and see some of the simple trickery in action. ;)

    Cheers!

  • You certainly got my attention dude.

  • Some off notes on the bass and the organ is too breathy.

    Apart from that, brilliant!!!

  • Pretty good work mate ! Thumbs up ! ! !

  • its just a bit off, but still good, hopefully i can do this myself oneday

  • Great stuff mate i have Logic8 and what ur doing there shows me i have not even scratched the surface with what this powerful program can do.

Almost identical to the original : )

  • pretty awesome work ;)

  • I think to make the organ lead sound more authentic to the original, you should try some ducking with the kick. Otherwise, nice vid =)

  • you pizowned this track man! nice job!

  • Wow!, super awesome! , and a very good job! , :) , and thanks for the link :)

  • why do people do this..no1 really wants to see anyone make an amazing hit thats alredy been released by a world class..show sum originality and cum up with your own traacks!..good job in making it tho, but why

  • @harrrddstyyleeee The reason why I did it is to show people how to achieve similar sounds (I know they're not exact because I'm not using the same software he is). That's why you can download the session and pop it open in logic and see what I did. If you want to check out originals, visit nandomusic(dot)net :)

  • @nandomusique

okay fair enough, good job! :)

  • Mate, where did you find and how did you make the electronic bass synth in the background?

  • @TimberTavern You can download the session.. the link is in the description. You can see exactly how I created it there :)

  • dude why the hell you got so many haters lol

  • @abztrakt82 lol I don't know and it's okay :) the more the better!

  • i downloaded this, but how do you import the project into logic. i dont see any logic files..

  • @djcluckcluck Hmm.. that's odd.. send me a message if you're still having problems. It's on Logic 9 btw.

  • @nandomusique funny how the download does not contain anything, whats ur capper man..

  • i did a ghost n stuff remake too, better bass though :)

  • Whatev man congrads, Very similar. If you are so well versed in logic functions why bother reproducing someone elses trk?

  • @orbitalarrowhead I do it just to show others how to do it :) no other reason really. I like to share the knowledge, especially since I had to learn everything I know myself. It would've been so much easier if I had someone tell me "Hey, if you use this software, this is how to get the sound you're looking for!"

  • @orbitalarrowhead think you got tracks mixed up. this aint close. not sayin hes trying to be deadmau5 but for christ sake your makin it sound like an exact copy.

  • @orbitalarrowhead DUDE I KNOW!!! I go through the same crap!!! Its ridiculous. Sound design is not something one is born with. You actually have to learn it or spend your whole life on your own just to figure it out. I feel ya man!

  • wow if you guys actually think this sounds like the REAL ghosts n stuff..you are EXTREMELY deaf..listen to this and then the REAL song and you'll feel dumb

  • @ScottyBoyBlog I wasn't going for perfection, just similarity. It's more of an educational video to help people get a similar sound. I'm obviously not going to spend hours upon hours trying to remake a song that's already been made :) Google "nando third person" for original stuff.

  • Kick ass dance beat to pop to

  • f a n t a s t i c

  • @buzzby86 lol@you. that's why I'm signed to Armada, right, bud? :)

  • wow, im impressed, thats really good, nice remake

  • @lazyfornothing Awesome :) Glad you liked it. Thanks!

  • wow man very nice!

  • @EuphonyMV Thanks!

  • Really nice video man!

Jw is it worth getting Logic Pro 9 over 8 ?

  • @PhysicalDnB Honestly... the improvements are minor but I love the new Flex time feature.. It plays pretty much the same as 8 but in my case.. the 64-bit + Snow Leopard's Grand Central Dispatch upgrade now give me soooo much more processing power :) I guess it all depends on if you need Flex Time + better use of a quad or octo-core.

  • @nandomusique meh. Dual core..

Thanks for the reply anyway mite get it just for the global tempo change feature :D

  • hey man can u show me how to make this please im very interesting

p.s.d awesome video & i download the file and its awesome hehe

  • Logic Pro 9... all the plug-ins used came with Logic.. nothing extra.

  • @nandomusique Yeah, Im usually not one to comment, but this is pretty fucking amazing, I tip my hat to you!!!! Very cool stuff right here!!!!!!

  • wat program are u using

  • wat program are u usin

  • sorry but if you listen to this...and then the real ghost n stuff right after..this just sounds like a joke

  • ummm...... 0:47 xD

  • wow you make my tracks sound like 8bit Nintendo tracks

  • Good Stuff man, especially uploading the project file, thanks for the time & effort

  • @LJFontain oh not a problem :) I hope it was helpful!

  • wow ive been tryin to create this for a while and mine still got lots of work to go yet, but this is an amazing remake, ;) stole some mixer settings from that little pan you did of the mixer

  • Awesome! I hope this helps! :)

  • To add to this could you send me the project file too :D!!!

    Major thanks :) ..

  • could you please send me the project file- thanks !

  • wow this an EPIC remake.

  • great! but more sidechain!

  • Yea.. deadmau5 is the master at the excessive side-chaining and making it sound good :)

  • Dude its amazing that you put this together! It sounds great! Can I have the project file? I'd really like to take a look at this!

  • Sent ;)

  • Dude Nice work can you please tell me the kick and snare you used. I cannot find it anywhere in Logic.

    Thanks

  • nice. more of those videos. maybe with deeper insights.

can i have the template or prodject?

    keep it up

    migumartinez

  • yeah great rebuild man esp with the distortion on the organ , its a pretty solid remake

the only thing i noticed was the tremelo on the bass part i think its a little tighter on there track but actually dont even worry about that , its sick great job n love from hawaii

    chee

  • Thanks bud! I appreciate the kind words!

    Much love.

  • I think you should use other instrument for the bass with the fat LFO that rises 1 octave.

  • this is realt good n all man, like it holds all of the mau5 traits, i only have one problem which is with the little squweltches youve changed up, realy good idea, just not right, just my opinion, still sooo much beter than anything i could ever dream of coming up with!

    ReSpEcT MaU5!

  • Yea.. that was definitely the hardest part! I tried ;)

  • this is absolutely incredible.

i'd love a copy of the session file to get a closer look at all your settings!!

    drop me an e-mail :D

    nabilfreeman (at) gmail (dot) com

  • how come everyone who remakes this never remakes the "ghost" part as i like to call it that comes in around 0:45 of the original song. is it that hard to remake? thats the best part of the song imo. great remake though, its very well made and sounds awesome! wish i had the talent and skills to do it.

  • awesome dude, just awesome. respect.

  • Thank you!

  • how does dead mau5 get that fade in and out 2 the beat with the bass and any1 know what its caled ha?

  • Whats a side cahin and can u send me the chords asap thanks

  • i dont get how to do the sidechain

  • I'll make a quick video for you

  • :) :) :)

  • Fantastic! Would love the session file!
