It's funny, but when I was young and this first came out, we all felt this is more like 'light rock'.

Compared to the bands we all rocked too, like Deep Purple, Led Zep, Yes and Rush, it WAS pretty tamed down. Now though, you hear it and it sounds real heavy, but that's mainly because all the so-called 'rock' of the past 20 years has been so lame.

Somehow, even though the band has remained on the radar, whenever I mention Heart I invariably get the impression that they are still so vastly, sadly underrated. A great ensemble overall, Heart defied classification AND defined a genre. Madonna, Lady Gaga and others -- all talented in their own right -- ain't got nothin' on the fantastic sisters from Seattle. There will never be another band quite like this one, all generational and social variances aside.
