Although I can't stand the idea of a romance between Arthur and Merlin (the only fan fiction I've seen is snogging and pornographic, so I don't know the mild side), I partially agree with HPAndHG4ever: it would be nice for Arthur to recognise Merlin as a true friend and AT LEAST exchange a hug! When Gwen was captured and Arthur rescued her, Morgana and Gwen had a huge hug as best friends. I'd like to see manly frienship between them when Arthur's ego gets smaller.
