The rotary is perfect for a mid engine car. Compared to reciprocating engines it's extremely light and small for the HP output. Would also be nice to see more then one mfgr trying them.
Isdera Erator was built in 1970. You can imagine that took years to Mercedes to complete the design. That means that c111 was "made" before Isdera. So who rebadged who???
@Areku06 I dont' know where you read 500 hp,theC 111 mkII prototype fitted with four rotors direct injection Wankel unit was rated some 370 hp..but Mercedes never revealed fuel consumption :)). C111 remained a testbed car, if you want to see the real production car ..just check "Maserati Bora" ...:))

The steering of a W116 series doesn´t look very well in a car like this...
I wonder why this car isn´t famous? Was it a failure? It looks very good even for today´s standards and it´s from 1969!!

No it's not. The brain behind Isdera was hired by Mercedes-Benz to oversee the C111 development. So they are both made by the same man.
