  • @DrBurdock .....i hear ya man!!!!i was gonna post the same comment but i saw yours!!! Live Long And Prosper my friend

  • It was just great to fly around in the Enterprise.

  • I played this game wen I was little. I couldn't get pass the force field parts. I'm 18 now and I want to play it again, how do you play an old game like that on a laptop? (The version of the game I have is the CD version)

  • this game is as good as i remember it. i had the multi 3.5 inch disks version, it didn't have the voice overs, which i can see was a big miss.

i think this must be the first game that showed me the concept of lead-ahead when firing.

  • @MrMedal77 No D;oh is when he mistakes a mistake, breaks something, etc. DUH is when he is just so dumb he doesn't get it - that was me with that Radar thing! :)

  • Damn my whole childhood is now being uploaded on youtube!

  • @DrBurdock lol i feel the same way

  • Spock---- 3 forward firing photon. lol

  • 10,000th view!

  • Gaah, I had a hard time making this run, even in DOSBox it was giving me problems. I finally got it though. Yay! =D

I'm alternating between playing Freelancer and Stronghold right now though, once I finish one of them I'll play Star Trek. Looks like fun.

  • I remember this game cuz I could never get it to fucking work on my computer!!!

  • I thought there was only one Elasi ship that you encounter in the beginning. Is it because of difficulty? Please explain

  • How do you fight the battles? There is no radar or anything!

  • @HardWarUK

...do you see the round blue circle just below the viewscreen? The one with the range circles and the multi-colored dots on it and looks suspiciously like a radar?

  • @L1011Widebody If you were being sarcastic - you had every right to be. I am dufus, it's now official! :)

  • @L1011Widebody DUH! Just call me Homer! :)

  • I've still got this on CD but DOS-Box was kinda choppy with it. Nice to know DOS-Box can run it more smoothly now.

Doing each mission perfectly was usually tricky, but the space combat was especially nasty when starting out due to all the memorization required in learning the controls.

  • Is it just me, or does Capt. Kirk sound a little... bored?

  • @Lx3IV my *YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWn* god.

  • the space combat in this game is pretty sweet

  • i dont believe this!

  • That Bernell guy's getting pretty annoying. >_>

  • In one thing i must dissent:

Captain Kirk never destroy a ship that she run away...

In the federation, they, the crew, have phaser for defence, never for attack....

  • Great game.

Star trek is a futuristic utophia: no machism, no racism, no money...

  • Does anyone know where to download a talkie version of the game?

  • This game & 25th anniversary are 2 of the most important yet surprisingly ignored gems of Star Trek. I absolutely consider them canon more than the animated series. They MUST be remastered an re-released on modern systems. It's also Deforest Kelley's last depiction of Dr. McCoy.

  • they need to get this back on the shelfs, update it to work for Windows Vista

  • I cant think of anyone who can say 'my god' better then kirk lol

  • "My god, Bones... What have I done?"

"What you had to do, what you always do... Turn death into a fighting chance to live!"

  • Why in the battle ships when you receive shoots dont talk to Scott?...

He can repair the shields and protect better the Enterprise...

  • no need too, he barely got hit.

  • Spooooockyyyyyy <3 <3 <3 *Huggles* MINE!

  • I am playing it on my mac

  • As much as I don't wanna be "that guy" who you see asking this all the time, how on Earth did you get this running so well? Best I've ever managed is a brief and extremely choppy run with DOSbox.

  • I just ran it in DOSBox 0.72. It runs great. Records great too.

  • Huh, that's what I used. I guess I'll have to give it another go. Were there any specific settings you used?

You're amazing at these games, by the way. I've never seen anybody so good at the space combat.

  • @L1011Widebody Hm, I'll give that a try. Thanks.

  • @Mario1999X Bear in mind this is the Collector's Edition, which is the only version with speech effects.

  • Man, I wish I still had my 486. These games dont work on my new computer. This and 25th Anniversary were my introduction to Star Trek.

  • Those two games are "THE" Star Trek video games... nothing else before or after ever came close.

  • Do you have any hopes for Star Trek Online if I may ask? :?

  • It seems like it's gonna be sweet. As long as they don't try to force too much action in it and let you explore (witch is what Star Trek has always been about) and do your own thing it should be plenty fun.

  • I read the PC Gamer Article, they were planning to make the ground combat feel like fps shooters. X-S Of course, that doesn't say anything about what you're doing when your not shooting stuff. X-S

  • I wonder if it's too much to ask them if we can get it on with Seven or Troi, or Riker and Worf if thats your thing! ;)

  • That would be power gaming. X-P LOL.

  • I'm doing the beta testing for the STO, and so far it seems pretty fun, and if you pre order from gamestop you get the original enterprise :D

  • sounds sweet

  • Hahahaha, Chekov is the man.

  • Kirk can so Rude at times, I wish they were selected so I can see the reactions, LOL

  • u no u can lock weapons on ur target

  • True, but I've found they miss more often with it switched on.

  • and the littl movie are same 100 time better

  • wow the intro is 100 time beter
