I got my wisdoms out on local anaesthetic, it was painful, and I heard my tooth crack as the surgeon tried to pull it out. That was about as interesting as it got!
I still have my wisdom teeth but I've been close to having one taken out. Before I got dental braces (bout 4 years ago), I had a huge overbite which they were gonna fix through a reconstructive jaw surgery and yeah. They were gonna take out a wisdom tooth there but the surgery never happened (thank god...) and I've had my braces off.
Had to get my gums cut afterward though for a pericision... ew. My gums were purple for bout 2 days lol.
I had all four of mine out under a sedative and local anisthetic! I remember them pulling but I felt no pain! I was having the time of my life, I even remember them asking my father if I wanted to keep them...yes, I kept them! EWW!
I was totally trippin! like I felt on top of the world! they say not to drive or climb stairs but I climbed into my loft bed and went to sleep! I felt GREAT...until the anisthetic wore off!
Yay Rob! Those wisdom teeth holes are kinda nasty but they fill in later for the most part. And yeah the anesthesia made hilarious antics for me. I wrote a letter in some awful script that my family saved. It's hilarious.
I have been in the hospital before, but there was never any question about religion, not of a form, not verbally, nothing. It certainly wasn't mentioned on the wristband. Interesting.
Some time ago a dentist threatened to remove my wisdom teeth - didn't go back for a couple of years, by which time they had settled in all right (thank goodness!).
I've still go two of mine. As long as they don't bother me, I won't bother them. The two they took out were done under local anesthetic. No drama at all.
it's likely that religion is stated so generalized religious convictions are understood by the staff i.e. dietry requirements, any religious dress or observances, views about blood transfusions etc.
@Cadwaladr I've never had an injection, let alone anything like a general anesthetic. I never been in hospital either. It's all a bit of a foreign world to me.
I'm amazed you got to complete a sentence after getting the anesthetic. I only remember mere seconds after getting the injection and then becoming conscious on a moving bed, that was just being wheeled into the room that I was staying in.
Yeah, I got put under for mine. They said count backwards from 10. I got to 8, decided to take a little rest, opened my eyes what seemed like about 5 seconds later, and found myself looking at a large ceiling tile with clouds on it. This was very confusing.
I got my wisdom teeth extracted under local anaesthetic. It was sad times. The religion thing on the wrist band is basically so they know which kind of counsellor/chaplain to call if there is any trouble. There are also some religions that have dietary restrictions or restrictions on what kind of surgery can/can't be performed.
You totally shouldn't have hesitated in uploading this one by the way. MOAR VIDEOS PLZKTHX!

I am getting some teeth out and most probably surgery where they will break my jaw.
I wouldn't have before, but now I think I am going to run. Fast.
eek.

The religion thing is about blood transfusion. Some religions don't allow it.

I got mine out when i was about your age. It's not that bad. If you have pain, they give you drugs. Drugs are good.
