why cant protestants just wake up an recognize that obviously they errored big time just look at the 25000 denominations were there is no unity and man can interpret the bible how he wants take the International church or Christ ... thats a church that took sola scriptora and twisted it according the the interpreters belief.. its just so ridiculous admit your mistake and move on
You say taht other english bible removes specificationsa bout crhist, well this is king james and this is isaiah 53, apparently i can't post links,so go google it , there are over 300 prophecies about Christ in the old testament, no matter what translation u have
i do not understand, i am an orthodox and we do not keep the Sabbath, we rest on sundays, the only ones that keep the Sabbath in my country are the seventh day adventists and i do believe that the Sabbath is the day when we must rest because that is what the Bible says so what's with the comments such as ''The Orthodox keep the Sabbath, which is on Saturday.''?
@Adonomos the orthodox priests that i have spoken with said that they do not keep any kind of sabbath, they keep the sunday because that is the day Christ came back to life, the chapter from Isaiah 56 states pretty clear to me which day we must keep
If you seeing it from an Old Testament view fair enough but did Christ have to correct them, regarding how they interpreted it. What did they want to do to Christ?
The seventh day adventist are spreading a confused doctrine. This subject is very deep i will PM you if you want?
@Adonomos i appreciate your response, there is no need to debate this because it is endless, and i am not seeing it from the old testament only ,Christ said in matthew 5.17 a very important message regarding the Law, the Sabbath was given at the time of the Creation when there were no jews or any other nations, only humans, and as far as i remember the first Christians that were the apostols kept the Sabbath , you can find that in the Facts.
And how did you got the notion there wasn't Jews in the time of establishment of Moses law? Philistine tombs state clearly that Jewish man, Isus Navin made them leave. There's much historical evidence Jews as well as other nations existed distinctly at that time.
@jovanj777 what kind of question is '' do u hold animal sacrifice''? Jesus sacrifice replaced the animal sacrifice. And i didin't say there were no jews at the establishment of the Law, i said that there were no jews at the time of the creation when the Sabbath was given Genesis 2.2,3
@razielbyo So, you explained how law maker (Christ), put the new law, or changed it. Why can't you understand than he could replace Jewish Sabbath? Is Christ more important that Sabbath. Yes He is.
Did Christ ressurected on Saturday or Sunday? Sunday. Every Sunday is celebration of Christ resurection. Not some Jewish sabbath. Although there were groups of Christian Jews who held also Sabbath at that time, there was no sense for Greeks, Serbs, or any other Orthodox to hold it.
@jovanj777 He didin't change the law, the sacrifices that they were making were all pointed to the last sacrifice , the sacrifice of the Lamb, it is true that He ressurected on sunday , but He never said to keep the sunday, for me the Bible is the supreme authority and i didin't find any verse that states that we must keep the sunday.
@razielbyo Earliest Church, of first and second century held the Sunday. There's plenty of evidence for it.
Of course because you made Idol out of Bible, you can't comprehend that Church is living organism that grows. Christ left Church to apostles because he trusted them. Obviously you don't trust them. In your protestant minds all them who also suffered great matyrdoom are wrong because none of that is written in Gosples.
And, notice that Bible is not Kuran. Bible is not given all at once with some special kind of revelation or teleport. Gospels are writings of early Church that are meant to be used between early Christians to pass the teachings of Christ. Also Paul's letters. Why do you think they are called letters? Because they were letters. You all seem to give greater importance to Bible than to the Church.
@jovanj777 For me the word of God is more important than the word of man, Jesus said Matthew 5:17 something very clear , and of course like all faith related matters this is endless, i'll continue keeping what Lord asked me to keep through His word, plus Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1 that we must follow Jesus steps , and Jesus kept the Sabbath.
@razielbyo I said do you keep commandment about flesh and blood?
Why did he said abolish the Prophets? Because Pharisees did that and are doing it to this very day. Version of Old Testament you protestants have is written in Hebrew by Pharisees. Every bit that has to do with virgin birth and specifics about Christ, like tree (cross) are removed.
What happened to the Greek word Eucharist in your English Bibles? It is clear from Greek word and it's usage in early Church it is not ordinary supper
@jovanj777 i do not know about that commendment ,sorry, the only reason i started posting of because i saw things like this: Yes the Orthodox Church keeps the Sabbath and not only that but every day is a sacred day for Orthodoxy. The Orthodox Church wrote the Bible. this made me wonder alot about orthodox. In all bible translations u will find the verses i posted.Apparently for you, the word of man is more important than the word of God,so let's end this talk because i only care about God's word
@razielbyo So, you want me to say that your Joseph Smith or King James English translation is more accurate than my Greek, that is just few years from ressurection of Christ?
Mattew 26:27-28 (KJV, although it is different than Greek)
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave [it] to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Word of appostiles and Church fathers is in perfect accordance with teaching of Christ.
All heretical sects came because some Man tried to alter the word of God or understanding of it by his own means. Investigate that, you'll find that protestants always defend heretics like Arius, Gnostics, Iconoclasts...
All protestant theology is trying to put the word of God into shallow measures of man.
@razielbyo and what did people follow when their was not word? and for those who did not have access to a bible? or did not have access to a church.. in fact you only now have the word in your house because of the ecumenical counsels. that was held by man the bible just didnt fall from heaven into walmart..
The Orthodox keep the Sabbath, which is on Saturday. Sunday is the day of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also keep the fasts, specifically on Wednesday, because on this day the council of the Jews gathered to betray our Lord, and also on Friday, because on this day He suffered death for our salvation.
The Orthodox have kept the traditions and teachings of the early Church. Our worship is Christ centered.
The protestant movement came as a reaction to the obvious wrong practices and doctrines that the Catholic were teaching. Martin Luther himself disagreed with the Catholic church on one main doctrine: Salvation. Catholics said sinners had to pay for their salvation and/or earn it. However, the Orthodox church and many other religious movements agree on the fact that Jesus died for our sins, He saved us, we have to accept that sacrifice. The Bible holds the truth not a given church.
Jesus DID NOT found the orthodox church, He founded the CHRISTIAN church. Now, God DOES NOT change, it's us, human, who do not follow his will and he has to give the mission to someone else (the same way the Jewish were the chosen ones but after Christ they were not anymore). God did not change opinion, it was them who followed laws of men, not the law of God. Couldn't that had happened to the Orthodox church? does it really follow Jesus' teachings? Jesus, Mary and Paul kept the sabbath, do you?
@eagletv1 "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. " Galatians 4:9-11
For Orthodoxy all times and places are dedicated to God.
True... the life of a Christian is dedicated to God and doing His will, no question about it. But that doesn't erase the fact that Jesus himself and Lucas, and Paul, and Peter, and the Virgen Mary kept the Sabbath as the most special day they had. Make no mistake, those people, specially Jesus, are the example to follow. Stop making excuses to fit the Bible into your beliefs, rather fit your life into what the Bible actually says throughout both the OT and the NT. Research it.
the problem I c<n see is thet some Orthodox are afraid that catholics are so many that in an united church, they eventually would use its majority to impose catholic criteria to ortodoxy, I think that is in the deep,

I wasn't going to debate just clarify!
If you want to hold to the shadow law of the Sabbath then why don't you hold to all the teachings of the old.
So if the Apostles held the Sabbath when did it change?
Like i said, don't get caught up with the Sda's they are a heaved up cult that started roughly a hundred years ago. Muslims say they have facts too!
How can Sda be of Christ from 2000yrs ago?
There's a big gap between 2000yrs and 150yrs!

The Lord Jesus Christ says he is the Lord of the Sabbath!
We Orthodox keep the 7th day Holy and this is our Sabbath. Because the day Christ rose he freed us and gave us rest.
The seventhdayadventists hold to the creational sabbath.
The Orthodox hold to the Divine Sabbath. For Christ is Lord of the Sabbath!

Cheap answer. IF the orthodox would keep the sabbath every day that wouldn't be christian, that would be lazy.
Sabbath keeping is not related to worshiping only but stop doing things u do on a regular basis (Exodus 20).
Jesus, Lucas, Paul and the Virgen Mary kept the sabbath that way, why don't u?
Keeping sabbath is stopping work and dedicating a day exclusively to God.
Your answer is the same Pentecostals use to justify themselves.
Let's do what Christians did in the beginning.

Its the foundation for the religion of the anti-christ!
The foundations are:
Religion, Politics, and Economy.
A New World Order is in business.
The Catholicism the worst thing that could have happened to christianity.
The Vatican is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
Ready to devour true believers.
Thats what happened in the papal inquisitions.
